Divorced by her husband's family and rejected by her own! She defiantly turned her life around
Chapter 495 Stitching Up the Wound
Liu Siyue asked Qingwu to open up the wound so she could see the extent of the injury and know what to do.
Qingwu unwrapped the bandages from the wound, and Liu Siyue was shocked to see that the princess's abdominal wound was a hand's length long, which looked quite frightening.
"Qingwu, how did you treat this kind of wound before?"
"Like this, we stop the bleeding, apply medicine, use a hot iron to burn it, and then bandage it. Some people can pull through, some can't. Even if the wound heals, it will leave a large scar. The princess's wound is so long, it will definitely leave a big scar."
Now that the weather is warmer, as long as the wound doesn't fester and I can survive, scarring doesn't matter.
"Go and fetch a basin of clean water."
While Qingwu went out to fetch water, Liu Siyue immediately took out medical supplies such as alcohol and suture needles from her space. Qingwu brought in the water, and she washed her hands and asked Qingwu to change the water. She began to clean the wound, first using gauze to wipe away the bloodstains around the mountain pass, and then disinfecting it with alcohol.
She picked up the suture needle and held it up against her stomach, unsure of where to begin. She had only ever seen doctors stitch up, and it looked quite simple, but now that it was her turn, she didn't know where to start.
"Master, what are you gesturing for? Do you need my help?"
"I want to stitch up the wound so it heals faster, leaves a smaller scar, and causes less suffering."
"Sew it like you're sewing clothes?"
"Yeah, how do you think it's sewn?"
"But nobody's ever done this before, is it even possible?"
"It will definitely work; it's all recorded in the books."
"Then you sew it."
"Qingwu, why don't you do it?"
"No, no, I can't even sew clothes, let alone sew skin. You should do it, Master. You figured this out yourself, you're definitely better than me."
Liu Siyue steeled her resolve. "Qingwu, call two more people in to help hold the person still."
The guards arrived, and the three of them worked together to hold the princess down. Liu Siyue's hands were shaking like a leaf, and she couldn't pierce the skin with the curved needle she was holding with tweezers. Sweat instantly poured down her forehead.
"Qingwu, quickly wipe my sweat."
Liu Siyue's actions instantly created a tense atmosphere in the room. The guard, unsure of what the master and servant were doing, asked, "What are you trying to do?"
Liu Siyue didn't hide anything, "The princess's wound is too long and needs to be stitched up, but my hands are shaking. Which of you two can do it?"
"I know how to sew. Tell me how," a guard said.
Liu Siyue then taught the guard how to sew, and even demonstrated it on the clothes. "Do you understand?"
The guard nodded. "I understand."
Liu Siyue stopped opposite the guard and pressed down on one of the princess's legs. The guard began to stitch up the wound, and Liu Siyue directed from the side. The princess woke up in pain immediately, and Qingwu quickly took a cloth and stuffed it into the princess's mouth. "Princess, please bear with it. We are treating your wound."
The guard's hands were steady, and his forehead was covered in cold sweat from tension. Liu Siyue quickly helped wipe the sweat away, making sure it didn't drip onto the wound.
The princess endured the excruciating pain, and her entire body was soon soaked in sweat.
It took them more than half an hour to stitch up this hand-length wound. Liu Siyue disinfected it with alcohol again, then applied medicine and wrapped it with gauze several times.
The group finally breathed a sigh of relief, and Liu Siyue told the guards to leave first, leaving her and Qingwu behind. The princess was now conscious.
"Princess, I'd like to wash your face and then take off your clothes to check for any remaining wounds. The weather is hot now, and if they aren't treated promptly, they'll fester and become infected."
The princess nodded, indicating her agreement; she was too weak to speak.
Liu Siyue took a clean cloth and helped the princess wash her face. After washing the princess's face, she stared at it blankly, then blurted out, "The princess is so beautiful!"
Her eyebrows and eyes naturally exude a heroic spirit, a cold and aloof demeanor, which aligns with her aesthetic preferences and is completely different from Han Xiaoyu's beauty.
The princess lay on the bed, her lips twitching slightly. She thought to herself, "This person is really something, staring straight at me like that. It's so rude of him."
Qingwu gently nudged Liu Siyue's arm. "Master, stop daydreaming and get back to work."
"Oh, oh, oh."
Liu Siyue had Qingwu bring in a basin of hot water. She first washed the princess clean, and then treated all the large and small wounds on her body again.
Liu Siyue took out a front-opening nightgown from her spatial storage and dressed the princess in it. "Princess, you can stay here and rest and recover. When I return to the village, I'll take you all back with me. The village is safer than here. I'll have someone bring some food later."
The princess nodded and uttered a single word with difficulty: "water."
Qingwu immediately went out and brought in a bowl of water. Liu Siyue took it and, as she turned around, added a drop of spiritual spring water to it. She fed it to Liu Siyue little by little, then used a cotton swab dipped in the water to gently apply it to her lips to make them look less chapped.
"You rest first, I'll go see what the kitchen has prepared."
She and Qingwu came out of the room and saw the guards standing at the door. "Madam, how is my master? May we go in and see him?"
"Your master is alright. You all go and re-treat the wound first. It would be bad if it festered. Qingwu, take those things over there and teach them how to treat their wounds. They'll be able to treat their own wounds in the future."
When Liu Siyue arrived at the kitchen, Ningxiang and the cook were busy at work. "What food is available in the kitchen?"
"Master, the kitchen has cooked porridge, stewed chicken soup, made noodles, as well as flatbread and steamed buns, enough for those people to eat."
"Give me half a bowl of porridge, a spoonful of chicken broth, and a little minced chicken."
Liu Siyue carried the porridge to the princess's room. The princess was not asleep yet, so Liu Siyue raised her head slightly and blew on it to cool it down before feeding her.
The princess finished the bowl of porridge, and Liu Siyue laid her down. The princess's lips moved, but no sound came out. "Princess, don't think about anything. It's safe here for now. Get some sleep. We can talk about it when you wake up."
The princess nodded and slowly closed her eyes. Their escape had exhausted them, and after several battles, they had finally managed to carve out a path to survival. Now that they had escaped the pursuit, no matter who these people were, they seemed to have no ill intentions. Finally, she could sleep peacefully.
Liu Siyue called Qingwu out from the courtyard. "Qingwu, you stay at home for the next few days. Report to me immediately if anything happens. Ruyu and I are going back to the manor now. We can't let the master and madam get suspicious."
Liu Siyue handed several packets of medicine to Qingwu, saying, "I'm afraid they'll get a fever tonight. Here are some fever reducers. If anyone gets a fever, give them some with warm water."
This is medicine to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, and to prevent the mountain pass from ulcerating. Give it to them.
These are the dressings that need to be changed on their wounds; please change them every day.
"Don't worry, Master, I will take good care of them."
When Qingwu returned to the house, she asked Ningxiang to prepare a meal so that they could eat and drink their fill and then rest.
They were exhausted and could not hold on for long. They were all injured, though not fatally, but quite badly.
"Shadow, the food is ready. Come to the dining hall to eat. You must be exhausted. Get some rest after you finish eating."
"Many thanks to these chivalrous heroes for saving our lives. My brothers and I, Shadow, can never repay this debt of gratitude. Please accept our deepest bow!"
"There's no need for that. If you want to thank someone, thank my master. He's smart, kind, and broad-minded. Don't worry about anything; recovering from your injuries is the most important thing."
My name is Qingwu, and my master's surname is Liu, the Liu of willow.
"Your master should thank us, and so should you. If it weren't for your timely appearance, we would probably have already perished at the hands of our enemies."
"Alright, let's not talk about this anymore, let's eat!"
