Qingwu climbed through the window and found the two maids sleeping soundly in the outer room. She immediately pressed their pressure points to put them to sleep, then tiptoed to the bedside in the inner room and pressed the same pressure points on the prefect and his wife. Now they would sleep soundly until dawn.

Qingwu then opened the door and let Liu Siyue in. The two of them lifted the prefect and his wife and threw them to the ground. They moved the bed aside. The buttons on the wall were obvious. They pressed down on the protrusion on the wall, and the bluestone slabs on the ground split open to the sides. The entrance was dark. Liu Siyue took out a flashlight and went down into the dark room.

Looking at the items displayed in the secret room, Liu Siyue couldn't help but admire the prefect's ability to amass wealth. Qingwu didn't go downstairs but stayed outside to guard against anyone suddenly coming in.

Liu Siyue took everything away, no matter what it was. The dark room, which had been full of things just moments before, was now empty. Liu Siyue couldn't help but suppress her laughter.

Emerging from the secret room, the two men ignored the prefect and his wife, leaving them to lie on the ground. "Master, is the matter settled?"

"Okay, all done. Let's go."

They returned the way they came and found a courtyard with a light on, from which came painful wails and curses. Liu Siyue wanted to go and see, but Qingwu stopped her, saying, "Master, let's go quickly. That young master Cai lives inside."

"Oh, you're still quite angry. Looks like you've suffered a big blow."

"Master, hurry, it looks like someone's coming."

Just as the two were about to leave, they encountered a group of night patrolling servants. "Who goes there?"

Qingwu grabbed Liu Siyue and turned to run. The servants immediately shouted, "Assassins..." As soon as Qingwu and Liu Siyue climbed over the wall, the people behind them caught up. The people were very good at light footwork and moved very fast, chasing after them relentlessly.

"Master, hold on to me tightly."

The two of them ran on the ground, while the prefect's guards flew on the rooftops. When they reached the doorway of a house, Liu Siyue grabbed Qingwu and pulled her over. Taking advantage of Qingwu's inattention, she knocked her unconscious with a chop to the neck and instantly took her into her spatial dimension.

The guards were chasing after the person when suddenly he disappeared. They immediately surrounded the house. "Boss, the person disappeared right here."

"Go in and search."

Two people guarded the gate, two others went up to the roof, and the remaining three climbed over the wall into the yard. They searched carefully, but when the owner came out to use the outhouse, he saw a dark shadow flash past him. He thought he was seeing things, so he rubbed his eyes. There were three dark shadows in front of him, and he was so scared that he wet his pants.

He turned and ran, but tripped and fell hard. He scrambled back into the house, slammed the door shut, and didn't dare to breathe.

The guards searched the entire courtyard but found no one. Then they started searching the houses, kicking open the doors and throwing the people sleeping on the beds onto the floor. They searched the entire house thoroughly but found nothing.

Finally, they found the main house. The man, terrified, leaned against the door. The guard kicked the door open, and the man was thrown to the ground, his face hitting the ground hard. He cried out in pain.

The house had been ransacked, but there wasn't a soul in sight. The head guard said to the man, "Two men in black entered the house just now. Did you see them?"

"No, no, I didn't see it," the man stammered, squeezing out a few words through clenched teeth.

"Where else in your house could you hide someone?"

"There's also a cellar in the house."

"Take us there."

The man got up from the ground and led the guards to the cellar. "This is it."

"Open it!" the guard leader shouted sternly.

The man removed the straw curtain and moved the stone slab that was pressing down on it, revealing a dark hole. A guard immediately took out a tinderbox, and a tiny light appeared.

The guard told the man to get down, but the man hesitated and said, "Good sir, it's too dark inside. I'll go back and get a lamp."

One guard followed the man to get the lamp, while the other two stood ready with knives in their hands, fearing that the person hiding inside might suddenly rush out.

The man brought the lamp, and the guard told him to go and take a look.

The man carried the lamp down into the cellar. A musty, rotten smell filled the air, making him cough. He illuminated the cellar with the lamp, but there was nothing there—no man in black at all. He instantly breathed a sigh of relief, wiping his forehead with his sleeve, whether from sweat or to ease his tension, he couldn't tell. He raised the lamp high and called out, "There's no one in the cellar. May I come up?"

A guard drew his sword and stepped down into the cellar. The cellar was only so big. He looked around, but there was no one there. The smell of the cellar was nauseating. "Go up."

The man followed the guard out of the cellar, breathing in the fresh air.

"Boss, there's no one in the cellar."

The guard leader frowned. This was really strange. The person had disappeared right before his eyes. How could he not have seen him? Could it be that the other party's skills had reached a superb level? Just then, he suddenly shouted, "Not good, a diversionary tactic!"

The head guard waved his hand, and the group walked out of the courtyard together. Before leaving, they threw a small piece of silver into the courtyard, saying, "This is compensation for you."

Liu Siyue found it unbearable to stay in the space. The guards were slow to leave, and if it got light and the government launched a full-scale search, they would be listed as suspects if they couldn't return to the inn in time. If they were caught, things would be very difficult.

Just as she was at her wit's end, three guards quickly came out from inside, and then the people at the door and on the roof left together.

Liu Siyue didn't rush out, fearing those people might return. She stayed inside for a while longer, and then heard the sound of the master closing the door. Only then did she cautiously emerge from the space and peek out privately, discovering that those people had indeed left.

When the head guard left, he left someone behind to keep watch over the area. As soon as Liu Siyue stepped out of the alley, she felt a gust of wind coming from behind. She dodged to the side and immediately started fighting with the guard. She also wanted to see how good her kung fu was.

After fighting the guard for more than twenty rounds, Liu Siyue gradually fell into a disadvantageous position. She was accidentally slapped on the back, and the guard immediately followed up with a kick. Liu Siyue knew that if she was kicked, she would lose her life and bring disaster to her family.

Just as his foot was about to touch her, she instantly vanished into the space. The guard was dumbfounded; how could she have suddenly disappeared? He searched all around but couldn't find a trace of her.

The guard felt a surge of panic. Could it be that he had encountered an evil spirit? He was very nervous. Just then, Liu Siyue quietly came out with a stun gun and shocked the guard in the lower back. The guard lay on the ground convulsing and then passed out.

Liu Siyue kicked the guards, "They're quite strong, aren't they? But how did they end up with such a corrupt official? The prefect is bad, and you've all followed suit in committing evil deeds. I can't let you harm good people anymore."

He picked up the guard's sword, severed his Achilles tendon and wrist tendon, and said, "Alright, you can lie here and enjoy your life for the rest of your days!"

After Liu Siyue finished doing all this, she ran towards the inn, but got lost. She searched the streets but couldn't find the inn where they were staying.

She was exhausted, and the pain in her back was intensifying. She cursed herself for being terrible with directions. She found a secluded spot, brought Qingwu out, and made her sit against the wall. She shook her vigorously, "Wake up, wake up!"

Qingwu was shaken violently, and a bottle of mineral water was splashed on her face. Qingwu groggily woke up, rubbing her neck. Seeing the person in front of her, she asked, "Master, are you alright? Have we been captured?"

"I'm fine, we weren't arrested. Please wake up, I can't find my way back to the inn."
