Quick Transmigration: The Control Group in Sweet Novels

Chapter 56: The Control Group in the Unrequited Love Novel

Qi Yang: What?

Chen Zuo: Was the photo sent to a group?

Qi Yang stared at the screen for a few seconds before she understood what he meant. She couldn't help but laugh: "Are you that petty?"

Chen Zuo looked at those words and his lips moved slightly: I really am stingy.

There was silence on the other end for a few seconds.

Chen Zuo pursed his lips, suddenly wondering if he was being too petty. He was about to add, "Are you kidding me?" when Qi Yang's new message popped up before he could finish typing.

Another photo.

Chen Zuo clicked on it subconsciously.

The photo was clearly taken recently. In the photo, Qi Yang's face is slightly turned to the side, her braid hangs over her shoulder, and her lips are slightly pouting.

It looked like she was kissing him.

Chen Zuo was stunned.

He stared at the photo, his finger hovering over the top of the screen, motionless for a long time.

A certain empty space in my heart was suddenly filled with something, warm and a little swollen.

Chen Zuo stared at the girl's pouting lips for a long time before saving and exiting. He deleted the words he had just typed one by one and retyped: I'm keeping this one for myself.

Lou Yu suddenly leaned closer and asked, "What are you grinning about?"

Chen Zuo tilted his head and pushed him back, "Stop asking questions, go play your game."

Lou Yu squinted and said with disgust, "It smells sour and rotten."

Someone nearby chuckled, "Well, at least it's better than your stinky feet."

"Your feet smell stinky!"

Lou Yu cursed back, wishing he could take off his shoes to prove himself.

Chen Zuo leaned back in his chair, ignoring their noise, and tapped his fingers unconsciously twice on the edge of the table.

He couldn't help but wonder why these past few days had been so long.

A few days later, Qi Yang finally returned home.

After her parents put down their suitcases and rested for half a day, they rushed back to work. Qi Yang stood in the room and looked around, feeling inexplicably empty.

She took out her phone and sent Chen Zuo a message: I'm home.

The reply came quickly: "Okay, get some rest."

Qi Yang stared at the screen, looking at it over and over again several times, and only after confirming that there was no further news did she put down her phone.

The room was quiet.

For some reason, the scene from that afternoon popped into Qi Yang's mind again.

The slender boy leaned against her, both of them sweating, their breaths mingling. He lifted her clothes with his fingers and gently covered her breasts.

Her face flushed instantly.

What? Why is she even thinking about Chen Zuo's body?

Qi Yang quickly stopped the images in her mind, stood up and poured herself a glass of water. She opened WeChat, bit her lip, hovered her fingertip over the screen for two seconds, and finally couldn't help but type a few words and send them: What are you doing?

She regretted sending the message, feeling that her intentions were too obvious, but it was too late to take it back, as Chen Zuo replied almost instantly.

Chen Zuo: Staying at home is so boring.

Qi Yang looked at the line of text and replied: Me too.

My phone vibrated almost immediately. He said, "I'll come with you?"

Qi Yang paused for a moment, then replied: Either is fine.

After sending the message, she flipped her phone over and placed it face down on the table. Her heart skipped a beat for no apparent reason. A few seconds later, she flipped it over again.

Chen Zuo: I'm leaving now, wait for me, I'll be there soon.

Qi Yang looked at the message, then suddenly remembered something and turned to rummage through her suitcase.

When the doorbell rang, Qi Yang was sitting on the sofa watching TV. Upon hearing the sound, she immediately got up to open the door.

The door opened, and Chen Zuo stood outside, his bangs slightly disheveled, his breathing not yet fully calmed.

The two hadn't seen each other for several days, and the last time they parted, the scene was the same, so they both awkwardly avoided eye contact.

Qi Yang stepped aside. "Come in."

Chen Zuo went inside to change his shoes, and his gaze fell on her again. She hadn't gotten tanned or lost weight in the past few days, and she had already run to the side with light steps. When she came back, she was carrying a box.

Chen Zuo took it and looked up at her.

Qi Yang explained, "It's a gift I brought for you."

Chen Zuo raised an eyebrow, opened it, and inside were a few things: a string of seashell wind chimes and a black and white braided rope bracelet.

Chen Zuo heard Qi Yang say, "These were all handmade by me."

He paused, staring at the bracelet, a strange dryness rising in his throat. He looked up at the girl's pretty face, "...Thank you, I really like it."

He slowly wrapped the bracelet around his wrist, his movements somewhat clumsy, and he failed to tie the knot properly several times.

Qi Yang couldn't stand it and reached out to take it, saying, "I'll help you."

She kept her head down, her fingers deftly weaving through the knots, her fingertips occasionally brushing against his skin.

Chen Zuo lowered his eyes, his gaze falling on her drooping eyelashes.

"Okay." Qi Yang looked up, but before she could retract her hand, he grabbed it.

Chen Zuo gently stroked the back of her hand, his voice lowering slightly, "Did you miss me?"

Qi Yang's gaze drifted to her wrist, and she nodded slightly.

Chen Zuo's Adam's apple bobbed. "Me too."

Neither of them spoke; the only sound in the air was their breathing.

Qi Yang felt his fingers gently gripping hers, and she leaned into his arms.

This kiss was completely different from the last one. Boys always seem to have a natural talent for this. Compared to her awkwardness, Chen Zuo had already probed inside and was sucking impatiently.

The boy's other hand wrapped around her waist without her noticing, and Qi Yang unconsciously leaned back, her lower back resting on the sofa.

When she came to her senses, his fingers had already lifted the hem of her dress, his palm pressed against the skin of her waist. Qi Yang flinched and couldn't help but push him away, "We're still in the living room..."

Chen Zuo's breathing was erratic. "Go inside?"

Qi Yang paused for a moment, then hummed in response, her voice barely audible.

The curtains weren't drawn, but Chen Zuo casually pulled them shut, instantly extinguishing the large patch of sunlight that had been covering the sheets. Chen Zuo leaned down, his dark eyes silently gazing at her, before lowering his head to kiss her.

Qi Yang bit her lower lip, her fingers clenching the hem of his clothes, feeling her skin burning wherever his palm brushed against her.

Their breaths mingled together, making it impossible to tell whose was more disordered.

After a long while, Chen Zuo suddenly stopped. He buried his face in the crook of her neck and took a few deep breaths, his chest heaving. Then he propped himself up and said, "No, I need to take a shower."

Qi Yang watched him leave, her expression pausing slightly.

While fooling around, the boy took off his shirt, revealing his prominent abs and chest.

As if possessed, she reached out and grabbed his hand.

Chen Zuo turned around.

Qi Yang pursed her lips, her gaze unfocused, her voice so soft it was almost inaudible, "...Aren't you feeling unwell?"

Chen Zuo paused, as if he understood something, and something welled up in his eyes. He remained silent for a few seconds, seemingly confirming her meaning, and asked in a hoarse voice, "Is it alright?"

Qi Yang didn't answer, but she didn't let go of his hand.

The tall boy bent down again, enveloping her and kissing her cheeks. As their breaths mingled, Qi Yang heard him ask again, "Is it okay, Yang Yang?"
