Warden of the Beast World: Everyone is a Hakimi

Chapter 61 Even the Marshal couldn't escape the feather duster.

Jingying walked into the corridor of Prison Zero. Today she was wearing a neatly tailored dark blue casual outfit, her white hair was piled up high, and two silver tiger tooth earrings dangled from her earlobes. Her steps were unhurried, and her high heels made a crisp and rhythmic sound on the metal floor.

As she passed the central observation room, she nodded to Lu Yu, her expression kind and gentle. Lu Yu adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses and returned the greeting respectfully, but the smile on his lips was impossible to suppress.

"Warden Ye Tang, thank you." Jing Ying stopped at the entrance of Observation Zone No. 1 and reached out her hand to Ye Tang, who was tidying up the food cart in the corridor. Her amber eyes curved gently, the same pupil color as Jing Yao's when he was intimidating, but it looked particularly kind on her face.

"You're welcome, it's all about serving the people." Ye Tang wiped her hands and shook hands with him.

Jingying's gaze lingered on Yetang for a moment, with the scrutiny and appreciation of an elder looking at a younger person, before casually glancing at the feather duster stuck in her food cart.

Those were cleaning tools that Ye Tang had found in the Space Supermarket. The colorful feathers were fluffy and used to dust the glass walls of the observation area. She casually placed them next to the food cart.

"Warden Yetang, that tool you're holding looks pretty useful." Jingying pointed to the feather duster, her tone as casual as if she were talking about the weather.

Ye Tang looked down at the feather duster in her hand, then looked up at Jing Ying's kind and smiling face, and alarm bells went off in her mind.

She had just given Lu Yu advice yesterday, saying that "a male tiger still needs a female tiger to control him," and today this female tiger came to her door in person, eyeing her feather duster.

She roughly knew what Jing Ying was up to. She was the warden of Prison Zero, and Jing Yao was her sugar daddy. As a professional worker, she couldn't laugh.

"This is a feather duster." Ye Tang handed it over without changing her expression, her lips pressed down as she tried her best to keep them down.

"Can I use it?"

"Of course." Ye Tang offered it with both hands, her movements more respectful than ever before.

Jing Ying took the feather duster, gently waving it twice; the colorful feathers whistled through the air. She nodded in satisfaction, turning to face the security door of Observation Zone One, her face still bearing that gentle, motherly smile. "Colonel Lu, open the door."

The moment the safety door slid open, Ye Tang sprinted back to the corner of the corridor and pulled out a handful of sunflower seeds from under the food cart.

As a responsible working person, she would never laugh out loud in front of her sugar daddy, but as a responsible bystander, she would never miss this good show.

The moment the security door slid open, Jing Yao saw his mother. Jing Ying stood in the doorway, backlit by the corridor light, her posture dignified and elegant, just as he remembered her every time she came to inspect the military camp.

Her white hair was neatly coiled at the back of her head, the silver tiger tooth earring on her earlobe swayed slightly, and she wore a standard motherly smile. Her gentle gaze was fixed on him, passing over the stone platform in the observation area.

But Jing Yao's tail bristled almost instinctively. His intuition, honed over decades on the battlefield, was frantically sounding the alarm. The last time he felt this way was more than thirty years ago when he secretly took his father's treasured spirit wine and traded it with Youming for a fake treasure map. His mother chased him and beat him up for most of the military camp.

The instant the security door opened, Lu Yu turned around with lightning speed and retreated steadily and quickly to the corner of the corridor where Ye Tang was.

His military boots pounded rapidly on the floor, his movements fluid and seamless. He stood in the shadows beside Ye Tang, his gold-rimmed glasses reflecting the cold white light of the corridor, and slowly raised a folder he had somehow brought with him to cover the lower half of his face.

Jing Ying moved. She pulled the feather duster from her waist, weighed it in her hand, and felt the resilience of the duster handle and the air resistance with satisfaction. Then she walked into the observation area with unhurried steps.

"Mother, let me explain..." Jing Yao subconsciously took a half step back. As the marshal of the Third Legion of the Empire and a peak S-rank White Tiger, he had never retreated a single step on the battlefield. The only person who could make him retreat in this life was the woman in front of him with her white hair neatly tied up.

"Explain what?" The feather duster fell so fast that you could see its afterimage. The first strike landed precisely on Jing Yao's buttocks, making a crisp sound.

Jing Yao turned and ran, fleeing in a sorry state, but where could he run to? The observation area was only so big, with stone platforms, pools, and walls. His tactical maneuvers were useless in the face of absolute overwhelming strength. He could command thousands of troops on the battlefield, but in this small observation area, he couldn't even last three rounds.

"Jing Yao—the dignified Marshal of the Imperial Army, is he staying in prison and refusing to leave?!" With each short sentence Jing Ying uttered, the feather duster struck Jing Yao's buttocks with pinpoint accuracy.

The duster danced with incredible skill in her hands, its colorful feathers tracing dazzling arcs through the air. The art of whipping a tiger required strength; too much could injure its bones, too little would leave it with no lesson. Jingying possessed over thirty years of experience in this art, each blow causing Jingyao to wince in pain, yet never leaving a bruise.

"Ms. Jingying, I am now a marshal, after all—" Jingyao tried to use his official title to rouse his mother's rationality while dodging.

"Marshal?" Jing Ying sneered, swinging the duster even faster than before. "When I was a general, you were still rolling in the mud!"

Jing Yao knew that explaining was useless. He also knew that resistance was pointless. His mother had beaten more enemy generals to tears on the battlefield than he had his own soldiers. After retiring, his only real combat opportunity was with him.

All he could do was protect his face, so that at least when he returned to the military headquarters tomorrow, his face would still be presentable.

Seeing that she had beaten him enough, Jingying tucked the feather duster into her waistband, grabbed Jingyao's left ear with one hand, and used just the right amount of force to lift him up and carry him forward.

Jing Yao was dragged out of the observation area by his mother, who was pulling him by the ear. The guards passing by in the corridor were all petrified, and they almost dropped their pistols. Lu Yu glared at them and made them turn around and face the wall to reflect on their mistakes.

"Mother, don't I have any pride?" Jing Yao lowered his voice, his amber tiger eyes filled with a humble plea.

"Your face? My insoles!" Jingying's voice was loud and clear.

At the corner of the corridor, Ye Tang and Lu Yu squatted side by side, with two more heads piled on top of them: Chi Heng and You Lie. Lu Yu's folder was still in front of his face, but the top edge of the folder revealed his crescent-shaped eyes behind his gold-rimmed glasses.

Chi Heng lay on Ye Tang's left, his mouth agape, his crimson-gold eyes filled with sympathy for Jing Yao and awe for Jing Ying. You Lie lay on Ye Tang's right, whispering, "So even the Marshal has his day."

Ye Tang had already collected a small handful of sunflower seed shells in her hand. Jing Ying's last words, "insoles," almost made her spit the seeds out of her nostrils. She quickly covered her mouth with her fist.

Jing Yao was dragged out of the Zero Prison gate by his mother, who grabbed his ear. As he stepped out of the threshold, he glanced back down the corridor.

It was quiet in that corner, but he knew his men all too well, and he knew his little warden all too well. He couldn't see anything, but he knew everything.

Jing Yao closed his eyes in anguish. It was all over. All the prestige he had cultivated for decades would be completely gone in front of these people.
