"Hey bro, what's your pick?"

Amir crouched down beside him and asked softly in accented English.

Ever since Lin Mo stuffed that hundred-dollar bill into his hand, this shrewd young man from Bayang never asked a single question about any of the "unreasonable demands."

"How's this one?" Lin Mo held up the large pineapple in his hand.

"Good eye! Made in China, high precision, and good reliability."

Amir took a sample gun with the magazine removed from Mustafa's hand, deftly pulled the slide a few times, his movements so practiced it didn't seem like he was handling a gun for the first time.

Lin Mo squatted in front of Mustafa's stall for almost half an hour, touching almost everything on the stall.

While attending to Dili's group's big business, Old Mustafa also took the time to offer Lin Mo a cigarette and asked him in broken English if he wanted to try out a couple of shots in the valley behind the house.

Lin Mo waved his hand and refused. The sound of gunfire in the valley where he was testing the gun would be too conspicuous, and he didn't want to cause any trouble in such a place.

Finally, he lined up the guys he had chosen:

A Desert Eagle pistol, a close-quarters secondary weapon; an MP5 submachine gun, compact and powerful, suitable for indoor and urban warfare;

An M4A1, equipped with a holographic sight and a silencer;

An S686 shotgun and a Pineapple machine gun are the weapons responsible for suppressing fire at both close and long ranges.

Some grenades and smoke grenades are used for large-scale casualties and escape.

Finally, he patted the thick, black barrel of the Barrett cannon and said to Amir:

"I want this one too."

Amir's lips twitched: "Bro, why did you buy a cannon? One shot from one of these and your shoulder will be bruised for three days."

"It looks so good, is that not allowed?"

"……OK."

Amir sighed resignedly and turned to Mustafa to haggle over the price.

In the end, these guns, along with the matching ammunition, cost Lin Mo nearly ten thousand US dollars.

Mustafa was so happy that his beard stood on end, and he gave him two extra magazines and a maintenance kit.

Unfortunately, the large-scale weapons of mass destruction that Lin Mo wanted, such as howitzers and rockets, were not available here.

He asked Amir a question indirectly, and Amir shook his head vigorously:

"Who would dare to sell that kind of thing on the street? Even if the government doesn't intervene, there's a limit. If you really want to get your hands on that stuff, you need connections and someone to vouch for you, otherwise no one will dare to sell it to you."

Lin Mo didn't insist. If he could successfully get his hands on these guns, the trip to Bayang would already be a success.

He paid in cash, put the guns and ammunition into two canvas bags, and he and Amir each carried one before turning and leaving.

The two drove back along the dirt road they had come from.

Amir was in a good mood, humming a tune as he turned the steering wheel, and occasionally turning to Lin Mo to brag about the various ruthless people he had met in Baiwa.

Lin Mo leaned back in the passenger seat, responding half-heartedly, but his eyes were fixed on the scenery outside the car window. This place was not a safe place after all, and it would be better to leave sooner rather than later.

Not long after the car turned onto the main road, a convoy suddenly appeared ahead.

Lin Mo immediately recognized the large truck that was protected by several pickup trucks with machine guns in the middle; it was the one Mustafa had used to load goods for Dili.

The trucks were clustered in the center of the convoy, their canvas covers tightly rolled up. Armed men in several pickup trucks, carrying AKs, were on guard around the area, making quite a show of force.

"Which way are these people going?" Lin Mo squinted.

"Judging by the direction, it's heading from Baiwa towards Kai'er, and if we keep going forward, we'll reach the border of Tokharistan."

Amir slowed down, clearly not wanting to get too close and cause trouble.

"Don't stare at them, we can't afford to mess with this group."

Lin Mo responded verbally, but his eyes couldn't help but scan back and forth across the truck's tarpaulin.

If only this batch of goods were mine!

boom!

A loud bang suddenly erupted from the front of the convoy, and an orange-red fireball shot into the air. The lead pickup truck was completely overturned, tumbling twice in the air before crashing heavily to the ground, billowing black smoke.

Immediately afterwards, a barrage of gunfire erupted from all directions, bullets pouring out from the buildings on both sides of the road, hitting the car and sending sparks flying.

"Hold!"

Amir's face turned pale instantly. He jerked the steering wheel, and the beat-up Toyota screeched as it swerved and veered into a narrow alleyway, its front end almost hitting the wall before finally coming to a stop.

The two scrambled off the car and crouched low as they squeezed into a half-collapsed general store at the alley entrance, where pebbles and dust fell in a flurry.

Gunshots rang out incessantly outside, like popping beans, interspersed with a few muffled explosions, while flashes of light shone through cracks in the wall.

Lin Mo squatted against the wall, his palms sweaty.

Even martial artists are afraid of firearms these days!

He glanced at Amir, about to say that they would retreat deeper into the alley once the gunfire stopped, but he suddenly stopped mid-sentence.

Amir's clothes were soaked with blood, the dark red spreading rapidly across the gray fabric, covering an increasingly larger area.

"Amir! Your chest!"

Amir glanced down and let out a muffled gurgling sound.

He raised his hand to cover the wound, but his fingers slipped as soon as they touched it, the blood making them slippery. Fresh blood kept gushing out of the bullet hole, flowing down between his fingers and onto the ground.

His lips moved a few times, as if he wanted to say something, but only a trickle of bloody foam escaped from the corner of his mouth. Then his body went limp, and he silently collapsed to the ground.

"Amir? Amir!" Lin Mo reached out and checked his neck. There was no pulse, and his eyes were already swollen.

It all happened in just a few seconds. A perfectly healthy person was gone just like that.

"Damn, this place is a complete mess."

Lin Mo gritted his teeth and cursed under his breath, the veins on his forehead throbbing.

He quickly looked down and checked himself; his arms and legs were still there, and no parts were missing.

The gunfire outside continued and seemed to be moving closer. He crouched down and started looking for a way out. There was a half-collapsed door behind the grocery store, which should lead to another alley.

Just as I stood up to move, a deafening engine roar came from afar, and the ground shook.

Lin Mo instinctively turned his head sharply, and the outline of the headlight beam was rushing toward him at an incredible speed.

It's that truck.

The truck crashed through the fence and rubble at the alley entrance, ramming straight into the grocery store with overwhelming force.

Seeing this, Lin Mo activated his inner strength with all his might and used his lightness skill to quickly move away.

A deafening roar, like a mountain collapsing, came from behind. The sounds of breaking wooden beams, shattering bricks and stones, and tearing sheet metal mingled together as the entire wall collapsed with a crash, and dust billowed up like a giant wave.

As the smoke gradually dissipated, Lin Mo was able to see the scene before him through the swirling dust.

The truck plunged headlong into the rubble, the cab severely deformed by the crushed walls, and the windshield shattered into a spiderweb pattern.

The driver inside the car was slumped over the steering wheel, motionless, his head tilted at an unnatural angle, his neck most likely broken in the impact.

The gunfire outside was still intense, but it seemed to be concentrated at the other end of the street, while his place had become a forgotten corner.

Apart from the crackling of burning and the occasional gunshots in the distance, there was no other sound.

He and the truck stuck in the rubble were all there.

Lin Mo turned his gaze to the tightly covered back of the truck, his heart pounding.
