Lin Mo chuckled and pressed her back onto the sofa:

"Don't worry, I, Lin Mo, keep my word. The Tartars will definitely be dealt with for you."

"I hope you're not lying to me."

"Don't worry."

Lin Mo grabbed a handful of something heavy, then turned and left the guest room.

He arrived at the Flying Tigers' base, selected twenty of his strongest members, and had tools such as wrenches, crowbars, and hydraulic shears brought to him.

He was about to take this group of people to World Two to dismantle the factory equipment. Before they set off, he replaced all of their guns with crossbows. Although there was enough ammunition, gunshots in the apocalypse would easily attract hordes of zombies, and crossbow bolts were cleaner and more effective.

After signing each confidentiality agreement and explaining each point of attention, Lin Mo had them hold hands, blindfold themselves, and with a thought, brought the whole team to World Two.

The Flying Tigers waited on the rooftop, and Lin Mo went back to pick up Su Wanqing as well. Then they spread out a map and headed toward the nearest metal processing plant.

This factory was very large, with all kinds of machine tools. After the power outage in the apocalypse, these precision machines became a pile of scrap metal that no one wanted.

Along the way, sporadic zombies emerged from alleyways and behind abandoned vehicles, but the Flying Tigers silently dealt with them using crossbows and machetes.

Lin Mo also casually put the relatively clean cars on the road, without any bloodstains, into his space.

These cars, after some repairs, should still be able to be used or sold in World One, making it incredibly profitable!

"Master, these zombies have crystal cores in their heads. These things are hard currency in the apocalypse and can be used as money!"

The official survivor camp uses this to produce gene serums!

During the process, Su Wanqing quickly walked to a corpse, pried open the zombie's skull with a dagger, and dug out a dark red crystal.

Lin Mo nodded, then ordered the Flying Tigers to dig out the crystal cores from the heads of all the zombies.

Along the way, the team made steady progress, stopping and starting as needed.

Before long, the group arrived at the metal processing plant.

To Lin Mo's surprise, there wasn't a single zombie in the processing plant!

"Could there be some kind of zombie king or something here?"

Thinking of this, Lin Mo immediately told everyone to be careful.

The group quickly got to work.

They had a clear division of labor: some took photos, some kept watch, and some dismantled valuable equipment such as machine tools, transformers, and distribution cabinets.

The scraping sound of wrenches tightening bolts echoed throughout the empty workshop; everything was proceeding according to plan.

Suddenly, a deep growl came from the backyard, followed by a loud bang, and a golden retriever the size of a small elephant crashed through the tin wall and rushed in.

Its fur stood on end in a messy, bristly manner, thick drool dripped from the corner of its mouth, and its bloodshot eyes were fixed on the people in the workshop. Its roar made the windows vibrate.

"Mutant beast!"

Su Wanqing's expression changed drastically.

Although the Flying Tigers were mentally prepared, they were still slightly taken aback when they saw the huge golden retriever.

Fortunately, everyone quickly recovered and spread out, using the lathe and pillars as cover to dodge the golden retriever's attacks.

Although the golden retriever was large and incredibly strong, the factory was filled with equipment and the space was cramped, so the team members nimbly dodged its attacks several times.

"Can you tell what level of strength they have?"

Standing at a distance, Lin Mo frowned and asked.

Su Wanqing shook her head:

"Uncertain, but none of the mutated beasts are below grade B."

"What are its weaknesses?"

Lin Mo pulled a Barrett rifle out of his spatial storage; its long, thick barrel gleamed coldly in the dimly lit factory.

He had no intention of going forward alone to test the strength of the mutated beast.

Su Wanqing was visibly stunned when she saw Lin Mo pull a cannon out of his crotch. She quickly recovered, pointed at the blond-haired man, and shouted:

"Hit him on the head!"

Lin Mo raised his gun, aimed, and pulled the trigger in one fluid motion.

The bullet struck the golden retriever squarely between the eyebrows, causing its entire upper body to jerk backward before it collapsed to the ground with a thud. Its limbs twitched twice before it remained motionless.

Su Wanqing breathed a sigh of relief and gave Lin Mo a thumbs up.

That's amazing marksmanship!

The Barrett's loud bang was particularly jarring in the factory. Lin Mo listened carefully and could hear rustling footsteps all around him.

Clearly, the nearby zombies were alerted by the gunfire and were gathering in this direction.

He immediately ordered half of the Flying Tigers to guard and clear out the surrounding zombies, while the other half continued to dismantle the equipment.

"Does this mutated beast have a crystal core?"

Lin Mo put away the Barrett, walked to the golden retriever's corpse, and kicked its hind leg, which was still twitching slightly.

"Or could eating its flesh increase my strength?"

"The meat cannot be eaten. The meat of the mutated beast is highly poisonous to humans. Eating it will cause the failure of all organs."

Su Wanqing crouched down, used the dagger to indicate the position on the golden retriever's skull, and answered without looking up.

"But crystal cores are good things; their energy is purer and more valuable than that of crystal cores from zombies of the same level."

A single B-grade mutated beast core can be exchanged for a whole month's worth of clean drinking water at the airport camp.

"Then what are we waiting for? Dig!"

Su Wanqing forcefully plunged the dagger into the crevice of the golden-haired man's skull, pried it open with her wrist, and then reached into the crevice to pull out a thumb-sized crystal core with a pale orange glow. She wiped the bloodstains on her pants and handed it to Lin Mo.

"This is a mutated beast that's close to Rank A!"

"How was that determined?"

"Red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, and blue, from low to high."

"No purple?"

"It's possible, but I haven't heard of any yet, though I've never actually seen one!"

Lin Mo nodded, and just then, he vaguely heard a faint cry coming from the direction of the backyard.

He walked around the broken tin wall, followed the sound to the corner of the shack, and saw the scene in front of him by the sunlight leaking in through the hole.

Two puppies, their eyes still closed, huddled together among a pile of rags and hay, their furry little heads rubbing against each other, emitting faint howls.

The placenta next to it still had traces of undried blood, and the umbilical cord was dragging on the haystack.

Su Wanqing followed, squatted down, and carefully parted the dry grass. Her eyes immediately lit up:

"Master, this is the golden retriever's puppy!"

Lin Mo nodded, looking at the little thing whose eyes were still closed, somewhat surprised.

"The placenta isn't completely dry yet; it should be around today."

Su Wanqing reached out and gently stroked the puppy's back, her voice brimming with barely suppressed excitement.

"I've made a fortune!"

Mutant beasts rarely give birth, and the cubs can be tamed!

One expert in the official safe zone raised a mutated cat, which, when used in conjunction with its owner, could defeat enemies of much higher levels.

"If these two can be raised to adulthood..."

"keep."

Lin Mo cut her off crisply.

"You take it with you for now."

"Okay!"

Overwhelmed with maternal love, Su Wanqing carefully picked up the two puppies and wrapped them in a rag she had in her backpack.

The little ones probably sensed Su Wanqing's friendliness; their howling gradually subsided, and they snuggled into her arms, curling up into a ball and falling asleep quietly.
