"Yanran, Xiao Mo is treating my illness."

Chen Ting got off the bed and stepped barefoot onto the carpet. The blush on her cheeks hadn't faded yet, and her fingers, which were fastening her belt, slipped a little because she was in a hurry.

"Really? Is this how you treat patients?"

Sun Yanran pointed to her mother's sweat-soaked nightgown clinging to her body, and her eyes instantly welled up with tears.

Without waiting for any explanation, she turned around abruptly, tears welling up in her eyes, and staggered down the stairs.

"Yanran! It's not what you think!"

Chen Ting didn't bother to put on slippers and chased after him barefoot.

Seeing this, Lin Mo had no choice but to follow.

When he got to the first floor, the door was already open, and the night wind was blowing in. Only Chen Ting was standing at the door, hurriedly putting on her shoes.

"Xiao Mo, quickly help me pursue Yanran, don't let her do anything foolish!"

"it is good."

Lin Mo went out and his gaze swept across the community walkway, quickly catching sight of that slender figure.

He followed at a distance that was neither too close nor too far behind, neither chasing too closely nor shouting.

After passing through rows of trees and around an artificial lake, Sun Yanran finally stopped.

She squatted on the grass by the lake, buried her face in her knees, and sobbed, her shoulders shaking.

Lin Mo walked to her side, neither bending down nor reaching out, but simply standing a step away, his tone flat:

"Hey, you've got it wrong. Your mom and I are really fine."

"Oh!"

Sun Yanran suddenly raised her tear-streaked face, her eyes red, and glared at him.

"You think I'd believe you? I saw everything!"

"Those are all coincidences. I was just treating your mother."

"Treat illnesses? You can treat illnesses?"

A mocking smile tugged at the corners of her lips, tears still streaming down her face, a mixture of stubbornness and resentment.

"Yes. My nickname is Little Hua Tuo (a legendary Chinese physician)."

"I don't believe you! Lin Mo, I'm warning you, stay away from my mom from now on. I will absolutely never let you be my father, don't even think about it!"

"How can I explain it to you for you to believe me?"

"Only a fool would believe you can treat illnesses!"

"Don't believe me? Then tell me about your problems."

Lin Mo spoke calmly, as if answering an ordinary question in class.

"Irregular periods. Every year around that time, you get severe abdominal pain, so bad you break out in a cold sweat and can't even get out of bed, right?"

Sun Yanran's expression froze for a moment, then she snorted coldly and turned her face away:

"Stop trying to fool me. What woman doesn't have cramps during her period? You big liar!"

"So, is this how everyone practices judo too?"

"You! What nonsense are you talking about!"

Sun Yanran's expression froze instantly, and her face flushed red to the roots of her ears.

Lin Mo didn't continue speaking.

He saw Chen Ting stumbling along the cobblestone path in Valentino flats, a trench coat hastily thrown over her bathrobe, the belt still hanging loosely at the waist.

He waved to the other side as a greeting, then turned and walked towards the gate of the residential area.

When Lin Mo returned to her residence, she found that Yang Liu's high heels were gone from the shoe cabinet. The living room was empty, with a note on the coffee table that said she had gone home and would come back when she had time.

He crumpled the note into a ball and threw it into the trash can. He stood by the bed for a few seconds, still feeling the fire in his heart that had been stirred up by Chen Ting and then interrupted by Sun Yanran. So he simply took the corpse of the white-haired old man in the Scripture Pavilion out of his spatial storage, sat cross-legged, and began to cultivate using the Star Absorbing Technique.

The following afternoon, Lin Mo changed his clothes and was about to go out when his phone rang.

It was Lin Qingyue calling, her voice low, as if she were secretly dialing from somewhere.

"Lin Mo, are you free to come to the school gate right now?"

"What's up?"

"Yes."

"Okay, I'll be right there."

When Lin Mo arrived at the university town gate on his electric scooter, he could see a crowd gathered in the open space outside the gate, with faint sounds of whistling and laughter.

He parked his car and squeezed into the crowd. He immediately spotted Lin Qingyue, who was standing in the center of the crowd, her hands gripping the bag straps tightly, her face flushed red, and her shoulders hunched over as she tried to hide.

The person standing opposite her was Duan Xing, dressed in a suit and tie, holding a large bouquet of red roses, with a Porsche Cayenne covered in balloons parked behind him.

Lin Qingyue's eyes darted frantically through the crowd. When she saw Lin Mo, her eyes lit up. Like a drowning person grabbing onto a piece of driftwood, she quickly walked over and grabbed his arm.

"Duan Xing, my boyfriend is here."

Lin Qingyue's voice was still trembling.

Duan Xing looked down at Lin Qingyue's hand that was wrapped around Lin Mo's arm, then looked up at Lin Mo's face, and a slow, unbelievable smile spread across his lips:

"Who are you trying to fool? Isn't this that poor bastard Lin Mo? He delivers takeout during the day and works as a male prostitute at a bar at night!"

"Lin Qingyue, can't you at least find a decent scapegoat?"

He turned around, spread his hands at the onlookers, and said loudly,

"This little bastard spends his days working as a male escort at bars, groveling before rich women. He even bought his ex-girlfriend's phone on installment. He's just a poor orphan who lost both his parents. Do you think he's good enough for our poor school beauty?"

Several people in the crowd laughed in agreement. Duan Xing got even more excited, shoved the rose into the hand of his henchman, took two steps forward, walked up to Lin Mo, and poked Lin Mo's chest with a finger:

"Get lost! I'm in a good mood today and won't bother with you. If you keep getting in my way, believe me, I can have someone kill you with just one phone call!"

Lin Mo's eyes narrowed suddenly, and a chill crept into the depths of his pupils.

Duan Xing's finger instinctively stopped in mid-air. He could see clearly that there was no anger in those eyes, only a cold, certain, indifferent killing intent, as if looking at a dead person.

He instinctively took a step back, and the Cayenne's balloons rustled in the wind.

Then he realized how many eyes were staring at him, and feeling embarrassed, he cursed and swung his fist at Lin Mo's face.

Lin Mo stepped to the side, his body lightly shifting half a step, his fist grazing the hair near Lin Mo's ear and missing its mark.

At the same time, his right index finger, hanging by his side, curled up almost imperceptibly, and an invisible finger force shot out from his fingertip, silently penetrating Duan Xing's fatal acupoint. The force, angle, and depth were exactly the same as the finger strike that had been used on Xu Jiang in the Royal Dynasty Bar dance floor.

Duan Xing was completely unaware.

He chased after Lin Mo and threw several more punches, each one slower and more breathless than the last. Finally, he bent over, supporting himself on his knees, panting heavily, with beads of sweat rolling down his forehead.

Lin Mo didn't even let him touch the hem of her clothes.

"Have you had enough?"

Lin Mo patted off non-existent dust from his shoulder, turned around, grabbed Lin Qingyue's wrist, and squeezed out of the crowd without looking back.

The crowd automatically parted to make way.

Duan Xing's intermittent cursing came from behind, but it was quickly drowned out by the whispers of the onlookers.

The electric scooter drove out of the university town and headed towards the old town along the familiar streets.

Lin Qingyue sat sideways in the back seat, her fingers tugging at the hem of Lin Mo's clothes around his waist. She tugged at it for a while, then loosened her grip, tugged at it again, and finally wrapped her entire arm around his waist, gently pressing her face against his back.

The wind blew her hair back, and she didn't say anything, but just hugged Lin Mo very tightly.
