The Maybach was driving on its way to the Wen family's house.

Wen Ruan is from Ningcheng. She was on holiday these past few days, and Huo Chengqian accompanied her back home.

Upon seeing Yunmiao's post on WeChat Moments, Wenruan called to invite her and Sheng Yinian to her home for lunch.

Inside the car, Yunmiao sat quietly by the window.

Suddenly she remembered that when she got off the cable car, Sheng Yinian had carried her all the way down.

So she turned around and looked at him.

"Sheng Yinian, you carried me for so long today, aren't your arms sore?"

"It's not sour."

"Wow!" Yunmiao patted her chest. "I'm so awesome!"

Sheng Yinian lifted his eyelids: "You didn't praise the wrong person?"

"You're not wrong, you've kept my weight under such good control, and your arms didn't even ache from carrying me the whole way. Aren't I amazing?"

"Mm." Sheng Yinian smiled. "Great."

Upon arriving at the Wen family home, Yunmiao met Wen Ruan's grandfather, parents, and brother.

The Wen and Sheng families are old friends, especially the old masters of the Wen and Sheng families, who are old acquaintances.

Everyone in the Wen family was very warm and friendly to Yunmiao.

Lunch began quickly.

The atmosphere at the dinner table was very pleasant.

Halfway through the meal, Mr. Wen's phone suddenly rang.

He glanced at the screen, then put down his chopsticks and stood up.

"I'm done eating."

After saying that, he took his phone and walked towards the stairwell.

"Dad, what's wrong?" Wen's father asked.

Grandpa Wen didn't even turn his head.

"Don't pry into the affairs of us old folks."

Wen Ruan's brother smiled and shook his head.

"Is Grandpa going to find us a grandma?"

After lunch, Wen's father took Sheng Yinian and Huo Chengqian to the small living room on the second floor.

Yunmiao followed Wen Ruan into the courtyard and sat down on the white bench in front of the flower stand.

"Sister Wenruan, your wedding date is almost here, are you nervous?"

"Actually, it's alright. After all, I've known him for almost ten years. You absolutely have to come to my wedding."

"Okay, I will."

Upstairs, the master bedroom.

Grandpa Wen, wearing reading glasses, held his phone with a furrowed brow.

He wanted to do something on the screen, but his finger hesitated to tap.

On the screen was a face that looked about the same age as him, also wearing reading glasses.

His hair was gray, but he was full of energy, and his eyes were wide open.

"What are you dawdling about?" The voice on the screen sounded impatient.

Grandpa Wen moved his phone a little further away.

"Keep your voice down, I'm not deaf."

"Then why don't you flip the screen? Why am I looking at your old face? I want to see my granddaughter-in-law!"

"Okay, flip the screen."

As he muttered to himself, Grandpa Wen turned his phone around.

"Oops, that's not how you flip it. Click the small circle with the arrow in the bottom right corner."

"Nonsense, there's no small circle in the bottom right corner."

"Why don't you turn your phone back first before you look for it!"

"Shut up, I'm working on it right now. If you keep making noise, I'll hang up on you."

"You old codger, you dare hang up? Believe me, I'm coming over right now and breaking your leg!"

"Come on, or you'll die halfway there before you even reach Ningcheng."

"Even if I hang up, I'll still come find you and drag you along."

"I think you don't want to watch it anymore."

"Why are you getting so worked up, you old fool? Are you just jealous that my grandson has a girlfriend?"

"Jealous? My grandson has had three girlfriends!"

"That's not the only one that didn't succeed."

"Old man, don't be too happy yet. Your grandson might not even make it."

"Heh heh, if you're so capable, go say that in front of my grandson."

"You...I'm hanging up!"

"No, no, no, don't hang up, big brother!"

"Ugh! Disgusting!"

The two argued for a long time across the screen before the camera finally switched to them.

"Go to the balcony, go to the balcony."

"Shut up, do I need you to tell me?"

Grandpa Wen slowly strolled onto the balcony.

He pointed the camera at the flower stand downstairs and quietly moved closer to the microphone.

"See that one? He's the one in the yellow shirt."

There was a two-second silence on the screen, then the sound exploded.

"Wow! I see her! She's so pretty, even prettier than in the photos! Look at that smile..."

"Keep your voice down."

Grandpa Wen frantically grabbed his phone, trying to turn the volume down.

The more anxious you are, the less likely you are to find it.

In the courtyard.

Wen Ruan went to get the fruit, while Yun Miao sat alone on the bench.

Hearing a noise from the second-floor balcony, she looked up and saw a cell phone fall and land in the flower bushes next to her.

She got up and went to pick it up.

"What's going on, you old codger..."

When Yunmiao picked up the phone, the agitated voice of the elderly man with gray hair on the screen abruptly stopped.

That face, which was originally full of impatience, melted away layer by layer like the thawing of a river, and his eyes quickly curved into slits.

Yunmiao smiled at the old man on the screen: "Grandpa, don't worry."

"No rush, no rush, I'm not in a hurry."

The old man waved his hands repeatedly, beaming from ear to ear.

Yunmiao raised her head and looked at the second-floor balcony.

Grandpa Wen was peeking out from behind the railing, his expression somewhat subtle.

"Grandpa Wen," Yun Miao called out to him, "Please wait a moment, I'll bring the phone up to you right away."

"Good, good, good." Old Master Wen nodded repeatedly.

Yunmiao walked into the villa, holding her phone.

"What did you just call him?" The old man's voice in the video rose several octaves.

Yun Miao was taken aback: "Grandpa Wen?"

"You call me an old man, and him grandpa?"

Yun Miao blinked, a little bewildered by the question.

"Young lady, look at me, I'm so old, it's not too much for you to call me grandpa, is it?"

Yunmiao nodded and called out earnestly, "Grandpa."

The old man's lips began to curl upwards, but then he lowered them again.

"I didn't hear you clearly, please say it again."

"grandfather."

"Shout one more."

"grandfather."

"Shout one more."

"Master..."

Just as Yun Miao was about to speak, a long, slender hand gently snatched her phone away.

She turned around and saw that Sheng Yinian was standing next to her at some point.

He glanced at the screen.

The old man on the screen was smiling broadly, his face full of wrinkles, when he suddenly looked at Sheng Yinian's face, and his smile froze instantly.

"Ouch!" The old man leaned back, "You scared me!"

Sheng Yinian didn't say anything, he just stared at the screen with a neutral gaze.

The old man's arrogance visibly diminished, but he remained stubbornly defiant.

"Don't blame me for this. It was your birthday the day before yesterday. If you had brought people home, would I, your grandpa, have gotten into this mess?"

After saying that, he tapped his finger to end the video.
