Before they could continue discussing the steps, the game's sound suddenly exploded overhead.

[Attention all players.]

Three more treasure chests will be randomly projected in three minutes.

[Treasure chest will remain for three minutes.]

[If not claimed within the time limit, the treasure chest will be automatically recycled and disappear.]

[Friendly reminder: The final half hour of the operation will be significantly upgraded; without the necessary tools, your chances of survival are slim.]

The broadcast has ended.

The three people at the edge of the pit exchanged a glance.

The game not only requires players to fish, but also forces them to risk their lives. This is tantamount to telling players directly, "If you don't take it, you'll die!"

Lina took a step back: "Sui'an, the arrest has been escalated."

Lin Sui'an's huge, rough trunk remained motionless, while a branch covered in barbs scratched at the soil.

"Go rob it."

Lydia took a step forward and patted her chest.

"I'm going there."

Sergei pointed to the pit next to him and shook his head.

"Too dangerous."

"I'm not leaving."

Lina felt for the tinder in her pocket.

"I'll stick to the old rules."

"If this were brushed right above my head, I would definitely grab it."

"If it's even a little bit far, I won't move."

"I'm not fast, I'd just be feeding them kills."

Allocation complete.

Without delay, Lin Sui'an turned and left, heading back to the starting point.

Lydia grabbed some mud and smeared it all over her face and neck. Then she turned and ran wildly toward the pond to the southeast.

Sergei immediately retreated back into the pit.

Lina pulled the branches covering the opening of the pit over.

On the other side of the forest, Lin Sui'an advanced at full speed through the bushes. The trunk of the ice tree completely ignored the complex terrain, roughly crushing the bushes that blocked his way and snapping off the branches that grew out of the way.

"Snap!"

"Snap!"

Soon, the view ahead opened up, and we arrived at the starting point.

Lin Sui'an stopped in the center of the open space, and his holographic heat perception instantly spread out. Within a radius of 20 meters, there was no abnormally high heat source.

The treasure chest hasn't spawned yet.

Two minutes later, a change occurred in the dense forest on the southwestern edge. Two red lights in the shape of human bodies entered Lin Sui'an's heat sensing network.

Two living people, moving very fast, are approaching the open space at full speed.

Lin Sui'an did not move.

The two red lights stopped at the edge of the clearing. They huddled close to a mature palm tree, nestled under its massive roots, perfectly avoiding any blind spots.

The hardened leaves on Lin Sui'an's head rubbed against each other. Without turning around, several barbed branches slowly drooped down and wrapped around one of the corpses hanging on his body.

Throw it upwards with force, and another branch quickly wraps around it; throw it again, and catch it again.

Over and over again.

Like a bizarre monster tormenting its prey.

Beneath the tree roots, a crew-cut man stared wide-eyed, gripping the bark tightly.

Don't go over there.

"That's eerie."

The tall man next to him was breathing heavily, his face pale.

"You're talking nonsense."

"I'm not blind, it's playing with corpses!"

The crew-cut man swallowed hard. "Let's find another place to squat on the boxes."

"No trade!" The tall man grabbed him.

"This is the starting point."

"The treasure chest will definitely land here in one minute."

The crew-cut man snapped, "Are you out of your mind?!"

"You're going to snatch the box right in front of the monster once it appears?"

The tall man lowered his voice and spoke very quickly.

"Don't you understand!"

"The government has already issued a warning; the strange situation of finding people relies entirely on thermal imaging."

The tall man pointed to the open space in front of him.

"We're hiding here, and as long as this strange tree doesn't run up to us, it won't be able to find us."

"Once the box lands, the strange attacks will all target it."

He stared at the huge gray-barked tree.

"Wait until the box is opened."

"The monster will still attack the box, and then the items will drop."

"Just waiting for that moment."

The tall man patted the crew-cut man on the shoulder.

"It goes to dismantle the boxes, and we go to steal the props."

"Take it and run, it won't even turn back to chase us."

The crew-cut man asked skeptically, "Will this really work?"

"We have no choice but to take a gamble."

"The government says that when there are boxes, the monsters will prioritize attacking the boxes."

"Besides, the capture will escalate in the next half hour, and without the tools, everyone will die."

The game sounds started again.

[Countdown has ended.]

[The treasure chest has been launched.]

[Countdown to claim: Three minutes.]

Three enormous beams of light descended from the sky.

One of the arrows landed precisely in the center of the open space.

The intense heat erupted instantly.

Lin Sui'an immediately extended two of his thickest branches and slammed them down on the box like heavy whips.

"Bang!"

A deafening roar, like a muffled thunderclap, was heard, but the wooden crate remained completely still.

A notification popped up in Lin Sui'an's line of sight.

[Treasure Chest Opening Countdown: 10, 9...]

Lin Sui'an's branch twitched slightly, and the countdown began again.

She stretched out a thin branch, touched the box to count the seconds, and then continued to frantically swing the remaining branches at the wooden box.

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

The force was immense, and the scene was extremely violent, perfectly matching the bizarre behavior of someone completely devoid of reason.

Under the tree roots in the distance, the two men stared intently at the scene.

The man with the buzz cut was trembling.

"Look at its strength."

"If this whip strikes you, you'll be cut in two."

"Let's retreat before it spots us."

The tall man gritted his teeth and said, "Get out of here my ass."

"Do you even understand what 'nine deaths and one life' means?!"

The tall man gripped the withered grass tightly with both hands: "The second it lifted the lid, we rushed in!"

Five seconds.

three seconds.

two seconds.

one second.

"Click—"

The crisp sound of the mechanism popping open echoed across the open space. The wooden box lid popped open a crack, and the tall man who had been staring intently at the box had a glint in his eyes.

He suddenly exerted force with his palm, pressing it down on the flat-headed man's back and pushing him forward with all his might.

"Go and grab it!" the tall man growled.

Caught off guard, the man with the buzz cut lost his balance.

"Fuck!"

He staggered forward and fell, smashing through a large clump of waist-high bushes, leaving his body completely exposed at the edge of the clearing.

The crew-cut man's face turned pale instantly, and cold sweat soaked through the fabric of his back. He scrambled to his feet and crawled backward, desperately backing away into the shade of the mature palm tree.

He was breathing heavily, his eyes fixed on the ice tree in the center of the open space.

Nothing.

The ice tree didn't turn its head at all, not even extending a single extra branch.

The strange man's entire attention was focused on the newly opened treasure chest, and the frantic hacking sounds continued to come. The flat-headed man's heart, which had been in his throat, fell back into his chest.

He turned his head, his eyes bloodshot, and grabbed the tall man's collar, squeezing him so hard that the tall man's eyes rolled back.

"Fuck! Why are you pushing me?!"

"Using me as bait?"

The crew-cut man roared in a low voice, spitting on the tall man's face. The tall man forcefully pried open the crew-cut man's fingers and chuckled dryly.

"Mistake, mistake."

"I'm so nervous about Marseille."

"It really was a slip of the hand; I couldn't control myself."

He pointed at Lin Sui'an in front of him: "See, I didn't lie to you."

"The strange thing is that once it's attracted to the box, it won't care about the living people around it at all."

"Hurry, let's grab it while it's distracted!"
