We can't fight anymore.
Lin Sui'an moved his four legs back half a step.
The silver shaded dog's calls came from the second floor, filled with curiosity and doubt.
Each time these four people got up, their emotions surged forth, and within the Silver Gradient's perception range, it was no different from setting off fireworks.
Alex saw the cat retreat and took a step forward: "It ran away! Quick..."
"Meow."
"what!"
The silver gradient cat jumped down from the second floor, kicking Alex straight in the head, and used the force to land.
It tilted its head and looked at Lin Sui'an: "Meow?" What's going on?
Lin Sui'an flicked his tail: "Meow meow meow!" The cat was trying to catch people, but these few were running too fast, and the cat chased them for a long time.
The silver gradient dog glanced at the four people on the ground again. Alex was just getting up from the ground with his head in his hands, Tanaka was covering the claw marks on his face, Park Jung-hoon was still rubbing his calves, and the burly man from Australia was panting like an ox, supporting himself on the ground with both hands.
The silver shaded cat meowed, its tone drawn out: "Their emotions are so intense, even the cat upstairs could feel it. It's scared, anxious, and angry all at the same time."
Lin Sui pretended not to care and licked her front paws twice: "Meow! Meow meow, meow~" Of course, how could they not be angry after being patted so many times by the cat?
Alex had barely steadied himself when he looked up and saw another cat approaching. His face turned green.
Tanaka lowered his hand from his face, staring at the direction of the silver shaded cat, his voice trembling: "Boss, another one."
Park Jung-hoon had already stood up and taken two steps back.
The burly man from Australia glanced at the Maine Coon, then at the silver shaded cat. The 1.9-meter-tall man gritted his teeth, clenching and unclenching his fists.
There was only one cat, and none of the four of them could get past it.
Two cats?
"Withdraw," Alex's voice was forced out through clenched teeth.
Tanaka panicked: "But the basement level..."
"Get out of here!" Alex had already turned around. He wasn't stupid. One Maine Coon cat had the four of them pinned to the ground and rubbing them back and forth. Add another one, and none of them would be able to get into that fire escape today.
Park Jung-hoon didn't waste any words, turned around and ran after them. He didn't want to come in the first place, and he was lucky to have escaped with his life.
Tanaka staggered, glanced back at the direction of the fire escape, muttered something inaudible in Japanese, and then ran off.
The burly man from Australia was the last to leave, but he was the fastest. With his long legs, he took three steps and overtook the three people in front of him.
Seeing the four people escape, the silver shaded cat got excited: "Meow!" This person is the scariest, I'll go after him!
After saying that, it flicked its tail, pushed off the ground with its hind legs, and the whole cat leaped out.
Lin Sui'an squatted in front of the entrance, watching the four people and the cat leave.
The British player waited another thirty seconds in the store, then peeked out and glanced at the cat crouching at the entrance to the fire escape.
The cat's eyes turned and met his gaze.
He shrank back.
I'm not going.
Lin Sui'an never left the five-meter radius of the entrance. Afterwards, she saw several more people trying to come over. Some players, upon seeing the cat, immediately gave up and ran away. Others were stubborn and gave up after being beaten up by Lin Sui'an.
Time passed slowly, and a few scattered screams and meows echoed through the mall. The glowing points of the treasure chests were scattered throughout the mall, their number reduced by more than half.
She looked up and scanned the area. There were six glowing treasure chests that she could see. The time was almost up. Once these were picked up or the glowing chests went out, the treasure chest rain would be completely over.
Lin Sui'an stood up from the entrance, took four steps, and crawled along the wall into the fire escape.
We arrived at the basement level.
Inside the supermarket, four people were walking back, each with food in their arms, hands, or on their shoulders.
Lin Sui'an ran up to them and meowed.
Li Yu looked down and saw the Maine Coon cat, nearly dropping the salt in her hand: "Calming?"
Lin Sui'an meowed twice, flicked its tail once towards the container room, and then once towards the stairs.
"Throw what you have in and leave?" Li Yu was the quickest to respond.
Lin Sui'an nodded the cat's head.
The four quickened their pace, putting the last batch of supplies into their respective countries' containers. Lydia, being faster, took an extra step and stuffed a bag of flour into the Dragon Kingdom's container.
Lin Sui'an squatted at the door waiting for them, without reverting to her transformation. When she saw the four of them return with their backpacks on, she stood up, took two steps towards the stairs, and looked back at them.
"An Shen means to go with her," Li Yu said in a low voice.
Lydia nodded, signaling Lina and Sergei to follow.
Five figures walked up the stairs, with Lin Sui'an at the front. She stopped and started, depending on the location of the cat outside. When she reached the fire escape exit on the first floor, she peeked out and looked around.
Safety!
She turned around and meowed, then flicked her tail to the right. The four of them followed her out, bending over and walking close to the wall.
Lin Sui'an didn't go up to the second floor. Instead, she turned around and walked towards a beauty shop next to the fire escape.
The glass door was half open, and it was dark and empty inside.
After Lin Sui'an went in, Li Yu was the first to squeeze in, followed by Lina, Sergei squeezed into the doorway, and Lydia was the last to come in, closing the glass door as she did so.
"Perfume." Lina was already rummaging through her bag.
Lydia was faster; she had already unscrewed the bottle of citrus perfume, sprayed it three times into the crack of the door, and then sprayed it around the door frame.
Li Yu squatted behind the counter, took out an orange peel from his pocket, broke off two pieces, crushed them, and threw them on the ground by the door.
Sergei didn't stand still. He glanced at the cosmetics store shelves, picked up a sample bottle of perfume, smelled it—it was citrus—took the cap off, and added a couple more whiffs through the crack in the door.
"This shop even brings its own ammunition." Sergei placed the perfume bottle on the counter.
Lydia scanned the shelves and found quite a few perfumes. She unscrewed each one and smelled them, then picked out all the citrus-scented ones and lined them up by the door.
"That's enough." Lydia lined up the bottles. "Even if the cat gets to the door, this will keep the smell at bay for a while."
Li Yu sat on the ground, legs crossed, and looked up at Lin Suian in her Maine Coon cat form: "An Shen, won't you change back?"
Lin Sui'an squatted by the counter, her cat tail curled around her front paws, and meowed.
Lena leaned against the counter, her palms still damp from carrying vegetables. She looked down at her hands; her fingertips were trembling, not from fear, but from exhaustion.
Lydia closed her eyes, recalled the general situation of the supermarket, and then came to Lin Sui'an's side to report in a low voice: "The rice and noodles are basically all gone, more than half of the oil has been taken, most of the fresh produce, vegetables and fruits have been put away, a lot of seasonings have been taken, and the snacks were poured out by Xiaoyu in trip after trip..."
As Lin Sui'an listened to Lydia's string of data, he thought to himself, "This should be enough to eat, right?"
"Anshen, if you were a cat now, could you eat canned cat food?"
Li Yu rummaged through his backpack and pulled out a can of food. Suddenly, he thought that since these items were useful to the cat, they might also be good for the cat. If he gave it to the cat to calm its nerves, would the benefit be calming its nerves?
