Chapter 6 Jiang Wen and Uncle Ge

Chapter 6 Jiang Wen and Uncle Ge

When Chen An arrived the next day, he still wanted to see Uncle Ge. 🐼💚 6➈ᔕᝐ᝕ᝓ.᝕σᝐ 🍫😲

Little did I know that most of the crew had already gone ahead, and I was among the last to arrive.

Teacher Mu had given prior notice, so Chen An joined the crew.

We took the train together to the Northwest.

I met the producer when I arrived, signed a contract, and got three thousand dollars.

The contract was signed with a photographer, but Chen An estimated that he would only be doing odd jobs and would not be allowed to participate in the shoot.

Afterwards, he and a group of people arrived at the filming location, near the Yellow River.

The Great Wall scene at the beginning has been filmed, and we are now filming the Yellow River section. The Qin Palace scene will be filmed last.

The film crew was set up not far from Hukou Waterfall. The production company was a big name, and the crew rented a space for the film.

Upon entering the film crew, Chen An saw several lead actors sitting together chatting. Jiang Wen, dressed in a black imperial robe, Ge You, dressed in plain clothes with words carved on his face, and director Zhou Xiaowen were all talking. Xu Qian, sitting next to them, was quietly reading the script.

Seeing that almost everyone had arrived, the director stopped chatting and prepared to start filming.

Chen An also volunteered to help lay out the camera track and check the camera.

The main actors were all in place, and many extras were wearing armor and standing in their respective positions.

First, a wide shot is taken, encompassing this entire landscape.

Then, the camera was taken of everyone present. Apart from the burning bonfire and Uncle Ge playing the piano, all the objects were kept still.

The camera then rose higher and higher, looking down at everyone, and Chen An followed suit.

Filming continued, and Chen An, who was watching the two award-winning actors act together, really enjoyed it.

He couldn't help but think to himself, "This is fucking awesome! If my short film had a big shot like this, Venice wouldn't have any credibility if it didn't win the Golden Lion for short films!"

Jiang Wen's portrayal of Qin Shi Huang is quite fitting in terms of appearance.

However, Chen An always felt that it was different from his previous works such as "Red Sorghum" and "Hibiscus Town". It was a bit like the Qin Shi Huang version of Jiang Wen. Although Jiang Wen was in the later part of the story, he had more weight than the earlier part, but it did not affect the viewing experience.

"Click~"

Suddenly, the director spoke up, interrupting the performance.

"Ge You, you still seem a little awkward. Relax a bit."

"Okay, director. This is my first time acting in a period drama, so I'm not quite used to it yet. Let me adjust first."

"No problem, adjust it first before you start."

Filming has been temporarily suspended, and the director has asked Ge You to take some time to adjust his condition.

Jiang Wen was too lazy to get up, so he just sat on the ground and started chatting with Xu Qian next to him.

"You said that Ge Youkan won the Best Actor award, but he was stumped by this period drama."

"This is hardly a problem; it's just a minor setback. This is only the beginning."

"."

Chen An, who was standing next to the camera, listened to their conversation quietly.

I discovered that the scene looked different from the one in the movie in my previous life.

In the movie, Xu Qian's face had a touch of baby fat, but on set, it didn't look like that at all; it was just right, plump and juicy!

"The kid's drooling."

Upon hearing Jiang Wen's voice, Chen An immediately wiped his mouth with his hand, realizing he had been tricked.

"Haha, I didn't say anything about you, you just jumped out on your own."

"What? Just because I'm so pretty, I can't let people see me? Am I a little brother?"

Xu Qianxiu rolled her eyes at Jiang Wen and said to Chen An.

Chen An was a little embarrassed and said shyly, "It's my first time meeting a live celebrity, I'm a little excited."

"What, you've even seen a dead one?"

"I'd like to see him, but I can't."

"Kid, you're good at chatting, quite interesting. Do you have a cigarette? I can borrow one, too lazy to get it."

Seeing that they were getting along fairly well, Jiang Wen didn't stand on ceremony and asked Chen An for a cigarette.

Chen An took out a cigarette, filled it for him, and lit it.

"Phew~ You don't look that old, how did you get on set?"

"My teacher recommended this place during my freshman year break."

Chen An also lit a cigarette and chatted with him.

"Smoke less. You two each have one, and you keep blowing this one here and that one there. They're all coming to me." The two of them smoked together, not far apart, and Xu Qian, sandwiched in the middle, was unlucky.

"Okay, okay, almost done drawing. Are you a freshman in photography at Beijing Film Academy?"

"Yes, Teacher Mu recommended it."

After finishing his cigarette, Chen An stubbed it out and nodded.

Jiang Wen, having stubbed out his cigarette, didn't ask any more questions. Xu Qian, however, suddenly asked curiously, "Are you that freshman cinematographer who, after the director ran away, filled in, shot a short film, and even sent it to Venice?"

"Yes, the news has spread that far?"

"Of course, I'm your senior, how could I not know something like this?"

Hearing their conversation, Jiang Wen suddenly became interested and asked with his rough face, "What's going on? Let me hear it?"

Chen An had nothing to hide, and there was nothing shameful about it.

So she told them the whole story, and Xu Qian, who had a gossipy look on her face, listened with great interest. This was much more detailed than she could find out from other places.

Jiang Wen gave him a thumbs up with admiration: "Amazing! You really dared to go all out, and you even got the school to send you to Venice. Looks like the film turned out well. I'll go check it out when I get back. What's it called?"

"I just submitted 'Carrying the Burden,' and I don't know if it will be selected."

"Okay, I'll go check it out then."

After chatting for a short while, Grandpa Ge returned once he had calmed down.

He sat back down in front of the guqin and began his performance.

This scene wasn't long, mainly focusing on the three main actors, and Ge You, having recovered from his setback, quickly got through it.

It was almost dusk when we finished filming, just in time to start the next scene.

Chen An stood behind the camera, with yellow sand swirling in front of the lens.

Qin Shi Huang pulled Gao Jianli to the carriage and asked him to get in.

"Your Majesty, I dare not."

"Since I've given my permission, why wouldn't I dare?"

"You'll abandon me halfway through the journey."

"I didn't throw that away, did I?"

The two were acting out a scene, while Zhao Gao and Li Si looked on with envy.

Chen Anzhen felt as if she had returned to Goose City in a dream.

Zhang Mazi, Master Tang is indeed your beloved!

Behind the camera, Chen An tried his best to suppress his laughter, feeling that Jiang Wen must have written these lines.

After filming the assassination scene, it got dark.

The crew started to wrap up filming and moved to another location to shoot night scenes.

Chen An was also helping to pack things up.

They then followed the main group to the next location.

There's a beautiful night view, but I'll probably have to work overtime tonight.

After having a meal with the film crew, Chen An arrived at an ancient city wall.

There are makeshift houses nearby.

After Chen An and his team finished setting up the equipment, filming began.

This scene is short.

However, this time the camera pans from a high angle to a low angle.

After filming a portion of the wide shots, the houses where the prisoners were captured and executed, as well as those that were burned down, were then included in the filming.

Finally, the scene shifts to a gambling game between Zhao Gao, Hu Hai, and a dwarf.

The contrast between the villagers' misery and the three men's carefree entertainment is striking!

The cannibalistic feudal society was vividly displayed in an instant!

Since he couldn't use the filming tools, Chen An just watched and learned from the sidelines.

Although my goal is to become a director, cinematography is also very important.

Although the original owner's dream was to be Zhang Yimou's photographer, Chen An wanted Zhang Yimou to be his photographer, but of course, he only dared to dream about it, since it wasn't illegal anyway.

We finally wrapped up filming today after this segment was completed.

Chen An was quite tired after carrying the equipment up and down all day, so he returned to the hotel under the roof of the film crew.

After taking a shower, I planned to go straight to bed to relieve the fatigue of the day.

Jiang Wen came over, a cigarette dangling from his lips, carrying some food and alcohol in his hand, and most importantly, a bald man was following behind him!

"Uncle Ge! Oh, I misspoke, Teacher Ge."

Previously, while acting, it wasn't appropriate for someone as insignificant as Chen An to approach and chat with him. Now, upon seeing Uncle Ge off work, Chen An was a little excited and called out his nickname from his later life.

Because whether in his past life or this life, Chen An has always been a fan of Ge You.

Uncle Ge touched his bald head with a helpless expression: "Do I really look that old?"
