Zhou Siyan gave a satisfied "hmm," tightened his arms, rested his chin on the top of her head, and couldn't suppress the smile on his lips.

Sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains, falling on the intertwined shadows of the two people, and his fingers gently patted her back intermittently.

After an unknown amount of time, a sudden cell phone ringtone pulled the two of them out of their half-asleep state.

It's Xia Ruo's phone.

She was still dazed and instinctively reached for the bedside table. Before her hand even touched it, a slender arm reached out from behind her.

"I can do it myself!" Xia Ruo hurriedly grabbed the phone, cleared her throat, and pressed the answer button.

"Feed?"

"Ruo Ruo!!!" Lin Wanzhi's voice burst from the receiver, urgent and bright.

"Where did Mr. Huo take you? Neither of you have come to work?"

Startled by the shout, Xia Ruo moved her phone two inches away. Before she could reply, her waist suddenly tightened—

Zhou Siyan reached out from behind her and pulled her and the blanket into his arms.

Xia Ruo was startled and turned around to glare at him.

Zhou Siyan was thoroughly pleased by the glare, a faint smile curving his lips – even when my wife glares at me, I'm still so beautiful.

"Wanwan, I'm still in the hospital." Xia Ruo tried to make her voice sound normal as she spoke, using her free hand to pry open his fingers that were clasped around his waist.

"What about President Huo?" Lin Wanzhi pressed.

Xia Ruo's fingers paused for a moment. How did she know that she was with President Huo?

Feeling incredibly guilty, she rolled her eyes and blurted out, "Mr. Huo has something to attend to... so he's leaving now."

The words had barely left his mouth when the arm around his waist tightened sharply, like a silent warning.

"What? You're alone in the hospital?" Lin Wanzhi's voice rose a half-tone, both anxious and angry.

"Mr. Huo just left you alone in the hospital? That's too much! I thought he was interested in you and would take good care of you!"

"Hiss—" Xia Ruo gasped.

Zhou Siyan lowered his head and bit her shoulder with a bit of punishing force, his teeth sinking into the thin fabric of her shirt.

"What are you doing!" Xia Ruo hurriedly covered the microphone, turned around and glared at him through gritted teeth, speaking in a breathy voice.

Zhou Siyan loosened his teeth, his lips still pressed against her shoulder, his voice low and husky:

"You little liar. I was right beside you, and you—you ruined my reputation."

"What's wrong, Ruoruo? What's that sound coming from your end? Are you feeling unwell?"

Lin Wanzhi's ears are sharper than a dog's.

"Which hospital do you want? I'll be right there!"

I even thought Mr. Huo was interested in you and would take good care of you. Men are all the same, and when it really matters, you have to rely on your girlfriends!

"No, no, no, Wanwan!"

Xia Ruo's voice trembled with anxiety.

"I'm fine. I just hit my arm on the cabinet. I'm all better now, and I'll get ready and come to the company."

"No, I'm not comfortable with that—"

"It's really nothing, Wanwan, you don't need to come."

Xia Ruo was about to cry—she wasn't even in the hospital, and she didn't even know where she was.

If Lin Wanzhi really comes, where is she going to conjure up a hospital?

"Don't worry, Wanwan, I'll be there soon. You can't let something so small interfere with your work."

She tried to make her tone sound firm and reliable.

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone, followed by a two-second pause before the voice softened:

"Alright then... But Ruoruo, I'm not going because it will interfere with my work. Work is nothing compared to you."

Xia Ruo's heart clenched suddenly.

"I'll wait for you at the company." Lin Wanzhi paused, still worried, "Are you sure you can manage?"

"Really, really, I promise," Xia Ruo tried her best to make her voice sound energetic.

"What you'll see in a moment is a vibrant and energetic Xia Ruo!"

"good!!!"

Before the call ended, Zhou Siyan tightened his arms around her waist and turned her around to face him.

Before Xia Ruo could react, his lips had already pressed precisely against hers.

"Ugh..." Xia Ruo's exclamation was choked in her throat. She hurriedly glanced at her phone screen—the call had ended.

Before she could even catch her breath, Zhou Siyan's tongue had already pried open her teeth and plunged in, giving her no chance to escape.

One hand gripped the back of her head, fingers threading through her hair to hold her in place; the other hand pressed against her waist, pulling her closer to him.

His kiss was deep and heavy, filled with a long-suppressed, unbearable desire. His tongue entwined with hers, conquering her inch by inch.

"Why not tell the truth?"

His lips pressed against hers, his voice low and husky, his breath hot, "Am I someone who can't stand the light of day, baby?"

Xia Ruo was so stunned by his kiss that she didn't have time to answer before he sealed her lips with his again.

This time it was fiercer and more urgent, as if it wanted to tear her apart and devour her whole.

Xia Ruo couldn't help but let out a soft moan, a sound so sweet and gentle that even she felt her face flush and her heart race when she heard it.

Zhou Siyan's breathing suddenly became heavy.

He rolled over and pinned her to the bed, his knees spreading her legs apart. His lips slid down her lips, across her chin, across her neck, and landed on her collarbone.

The lingering kisses were delicate and hot, falling like raindrops on the skin of her neck, leaving no inch untouched.

His hands began to ignite her body, from her waist to her back, and from her back to her lower abdomen, sending shivers of tingling pleasure through her wherever his fingertips touched.

Two buttons on the shirt popped off at some point.

He lowered his head, his delicate kisses landing on the skin below her collarbone. One hand tore open one side of her shirt, the fabric slipping down to reveal her rounded shoulders and the breathtaking curves deeper within.

Zhou Siyan's eyes instantly turned unfathomable. He immediately leaned down, and Xia Ruo's body arched violently. A strange and unfamiliar feeling exploded from that spot, rushing along her spine to every part of her body, making her tremble all over.

Her fingers dug into his hair, instinctively tugging, unsure whether she wanted to push him away or hold him down.

"Baby...baby..." Zhou Siyan looked up, his lips close to her earlobe, his voice low and husky, with a captivating magnetism.

The warm breath filled her ears, and Xia Ruo's body trembled instantly, a numbness spreading from her earlobe to her fingertips. She felt as if she had been struck by an electric current, and her body went limp without any strength.

Zhou Siyan felt the body trembling in his arms and smiled wickedly:

"My baby is so sensitive. I love it."

His hand slowly moved down her waist, his fingertips gliding over her lower abdomen and across her waistline.
