Quick Transmigration: My First Female Skill Takes Effect

Chapter 9, the first female character in this historical novel.

Keeping his promise, Principal Qi took Wang Qi home and handed him over to the old lady, and they agreed to meet again that evening.

She wanted to discuss Bao'er's future upbringing with Zhang Yanzi and Wang Tiezhu.

Wang Qi held the old lady's hand, yawned twice, and rubbed her eyes with her other little hand: "Grandma, I'm sleepy, I want to take a nap."

The old lady's smile hadn't faded yet: "Good, good, good sleep, good sleep makes you smarter."

Wang Qi glanced at the old lady and felt that she was acting strangely.

But it really is her grandmother.

After washing his hands and face, Wang Qi took off his coat, lay down on the old lady's kang (a heated brick bed), closed his eyes, and soon began to snore softly.

The old lady gently closed the door and went to the eldest couple's room. Behind the curtain, in the corner, on the table, were three memorial tablets.

Her husband's, and her in-laws'.

Picking up an incense stick from the side, the old lady lit it and began to mutter about the auspicious smoke rising from the Wang family's ancestral graves, and how her granddaughter was a genius who would become the top scholar in the imperial examinations.

May our ancestors continue to bless our granddaughter with peace and health, and may the Wang family prosper.

She will burn more incense for her ancestors.

She placed the incense sticks in the incense burner, and white smoke billowed out. The old woman clasped her hands together, her eyes filled with piety.

A few minutes later.

Footsteps sounded, and the door creaked open. Aunt Wang came in and saw incense burning inside. She hung a curtain over the door to let some of the incense smoke escape.

"Mother." The old lady came out, and Aunt Wang called out as she approached.

The old lady nodded, brushing non-existent ashes from her sleeves: "Yunniang, heat up the eggs and simmer them in the pot. They'll be ready for Bao'er when she wakes up."

Sigh, it's time to start cooking again, but my aunt didn't refuse. She readily agreed, "Okay, Mother."

She pointed east again: "Asleep?"

She knew about Bao'er's habit of taking a nap.

The old lady said, "Hmm, she was so sleepy that she just lay down and fell asleep immediately. She's truly a smart child. Look at her older brothers and sisters; they don't fall asleep as quickly as she does."

My aunt didn't understand the close connection between falling asleep quickly and being smart.

But that didn't stop her from nodding: "She is indeed clever. Mother, did Director Qi say anything?" She was simply curious.

The old lady said, "Go talk to your brother and sister-in-law tonight about Bao'er's upbringing." She paused and then added, "Yunniang, Bao'er is smart, which will benefit the whole family."

She didn't want her eldest son's wife to ruin the Wang family's future because of some foolish ideas.

The eldest aunt widened her eyes and said with dissatisfaction, "Mother, I'm not stupid. I can't stand seeing my nephews and nieces doing better than my own children."

It is a blessing from our ancestors that a family can have one successful member.

If Bao'er has a good future, how could it not benefit her children? They are all brothers and sisters in the same family, inseparable by blood.

She felt that the old lady looked down on her.

The old lady glanced at a plate of eggs on the round table and said, "Hey, I'm not afraid you'll think I'm favoring the second son's family. They already have two full-time employees."

The eldest son's family originally had two permanent employees, and their lives were better than the second son's family.

But when the eldest grandson, Wang Jianjun, was getting married, the eldest son's wife had to give up her job, and her seniority was recalculated from the beginning. Meanwhile, the second son's family had a formal job, and their lives gradually improved.

Upon learning that her second son's family would have an even more successful child in the future, she feared that her eldest son's wife would feel unbalanced.

When the eldest aunt saw the care in the old lady's eyes, her anger dissipated instantly, carried away by the wind.

She smiled with a mixture of relief and helplessness: "Mom, don't worry, I won't compare myself to my sister-in-law. I'll only be happy for her if her family is doing well." She was no filthy person.

At most, I'd feel a little envious and jealous.

The old lady said, "I know you're a broad-minded person, but people can easily get lost, so I..." She gestured the small distance between her thumb and forefinger, "Just a reminder."

As a family, we have an obligation to care for and remind each other if we want things to be good for each other.

"Well then, I thank you, Mother, for treating me like one of your own."

The eldest aunt took a plate, went outside, walked to the stove, and warmed the eggs.

Wang Qi slept for about half an hour before being woken up by the old lady, who told her not to sleep too long at noon, otherwise she wouldn't be able to sleep at night.

I washed my face and hands, and then applied my cousin's face cream.

Bao'er appeared, looking fresh and clean.

The aunt held a warm egg in her hands, her voice gentle: "Baby, are you hungry? Would you like some eggs?"

Wang Qi ate lunch around 11:00 AM, returned at 1:30 PM, and it's a little past 2:00 PM now.

She touched her lower abdomen, which was still empty: "I'll eat two." She couldn't eat any more.

After eating two slippery eggs, she didn't run out to play anymore. The child looked outside, wanting to go, but the headmaster told her...

Genius cannot be sold or bought.

If she had hit her head, her genius would never have returned.

hateful!

She hasn't had enough of being a genius yet.

As the sun sets, workers finish their shifts and students leave school.

The old lady held Wang Qi's hand and personally brought the child over, then waited for the second son and his wife to return to their home.

The three Wang sisters returned first and greeted the old lady politely when they saw her at their house.

"Fourth Sister, I want to play cat's cradle. You play with me." Wang Qi had been sitting for the whole afternoon and was getting really bored. Now that she had found a new game, she couldn't wait to start.

Wang Lan didn't dare refuse her younger sister, but she was also embarrassed to face her two older sisters.

Fortunately, Wang Hong and Wang Qing were not stingy people, and they took the initiative to let Wang Lan play with her younger sister.

Two people can cook.

Wang Qi happily led the people away without even saying thank you. Wang Qing's heart, which had been set on helping her that morning, suddenly sank to the ground, and she no longer wanted to help her.

She was furious inside, but showed no sign of it on her face, continuing to add water and cook as usual.

The machinery factory was closer than the textile factory, so Wang Tiezhu returned first. When he saw Bao'er playing, he couldn't help but smile, a silly smile that made him feel at ease.

The old lady coughed twice before Wang Tiezhu noticed that his mother had arrived.

"Mother, why are you here? You didn't even tell me."

As he spoke, he walked towards the old lady with a smile on his face. Yesterday, he had discussed with Bao'er's mother how to get a big house, and today was his day of struggle.

Before long, I'm sure I'll achieve my goal.

The old lady didn't bother arguing with someone whose eyes were just for show: "I'll talk about it when Yanzi comes back."

"What are you saying, Mother?"

Speak of the devil, and he appears. Zhang Yanzi stood at the door, brushing off dust that might or might not have been on her clothes.

She first glanced at Bao'er, kissed her, and then walked towards the old lady.

The old lady said, "Director Qi knows Bao'er's talent and said she'd like to discuss Bao'er's schooling with you two after work this afternoon."

The couple exchanged a glance: "Director Qi?"

Wang Tiezhu: "Principal Qi of the kindergarten?"

In order to get his son into kindergarten, he went to find out about the character and family situation of the teachers and principal of the machinery factory kindergarten.

As far as he knew, Director Qi's entire family were cadres.

Old lady: "Mmm."

As soon as she finished speaking, Principal Qi appeared at the Wang family's door.
