Survival in the Class: I'm the Only Boy on the Bus
Chapter 297 Does the Zombie Dragon Think Jiang Chen is an Inferior Being?
Jiang Chen and Lu Wanzhou crossed the highway guardrail and stepped into the muddy ground covered with weeds.
As the two drew closer, the outline of the dragon corpse gradually filled their field of vision.
When the two of them actually stood in front of the dragon's head, Jiang Chen realized that the dragon was much larger than he had imagined.
The entire drooping dragon head was as tall as Jiang Chen, who was 1.8 meters tall.
The dark green scales gleamed with a chilling metallic luster in the sunlight, but many scales had already begun to fall off, revealing the grayish-white decaying flesh beneath.
The row of serrated teeth in the dragon's mouth, each as long as an adult's forearm, is like a natural meat grinder.
However, some teeth were already broken, with jagged edges, revealing the grayish-black gums inside.
Looking back from the dragon's head, the dragon's wings were spread out on the ground, forming two small, gray-black hills.
Every time the wind blows, the wing membrane will tremble slightly, making a "slapping" sound similar to canvas being torn.
In the shallow pit created by the dragon's corpse, dark green blood was slowly filling it, and wisps of white steam rose up, as if the pit contained concentrated sulfuric acid.
Lu Wanzhou covered her nose, squatted down, and used the tip of her dagger to pick up a little dragon blood:
"Xiao Chen...this dragon blood...is so fierce..."
Upon hearing the words "How fierce!", Jiang Chen subconsciously turned his head to look at Haji Zhou and activated auto-aiming.
"Yeah! That's really fierce!"
Lu Wanzhou quickly covered her front and made a face at Jiang Chen:
"Hehehe! You perverted Xiao Chen!"
As Lu Wanzhou moved, Jiang Chen saw the dark green dragon blood slide down the emerald green blade, dripping onto the leaves on the ground with a 'hiss' sound, and a small wisp of white smoke rose up.
Jiang Chen noticed this detail: the dragon blood didn't seem to harm Lu Wanzhou's dagger. Could it be because Lu Wanzhou's dagger was also poisonous?
The S-grade [Dagger - Snake Kiss] in Lu Wanzhou's hand can inflict the "Snake Venom" status on the target and deal poison damage equal to 5% of Agility per second.
Jiang Chen believed that this was the reason why Lu Wanzhou's dagger was not corroded by the dragon blood.
Jiang Chen then forcibly requisitioned Haji's C-grade [Armor-Piercing Dagger], and then, in front of Haji, pricked up a little bit of dragon blood with her dagger.
Haki was so angry he was panting!
Hajiju: "Ha—!"
Jiang Chen said he would make it up to her tonight, and only then did she stop breathing on him.
There was no other way; Jiang Chen's weapons were either the A-grade Golden Desert Eagle or the S-grade [Katana: Lightning: Guardian of the River of Oblivion]. He couldn't very well take those two weapons and risk his life.
So I guess I'll have to settle for a C-grade dagger.
Jiang Chen discovered that the dragon blood had no effect on the small dagger; it might only affect carbon-based life forms.
Undeterred, Jiang Chen picked up another drop of dragon blood and dripped it directly onto the back of his hand under Lu Wanzhou's horrified gaze.
The next moment, white smoke began to rise from the skin of Jiang Chen that had been touched by the dragon blood, but Jiang Chen did not feel any pain, and the dragon blood did not corrode his skin. This should be because Jiang Chen had high defense.
But Lu Wanzhou didn't care about any of that. Worried, she directly used her own palm to wipe the dragon blood off Jiang Chen's hand.
Lu Wanzhou's defense was only 86. The moment her palm touched the dragon blood, the skin on her palm was corroded, and more white mist emerged from her palm.
Lu Wanzhou instinctively pulled her hand back in pain, but the next second she endured the pain in her palm and crossed her hands to grab the hem of the pink sleeveless shirt.
She thought that it hurt so much just from touching him, so this silly pig Xiaochen must be in even more pain. So she prepared to take off her shirt to wipe the back of Xiaochen's hand.
But as soon as Lu Wanzhou lifted her clothes slightly, Jiang Chen stopped her.
Jiang Chen first wiped the dragon blood off the back of his hand and showed Lu Wanzhou that he was unharmed despite his tough skin.
Then, with a pained expression, he gently grasped Lu Wanzhou's injured right hand, looking at the bloody mess on her palm.
Jiang Chen immediately began treating Lu Wanzhou, making sarcastic remarks as he did so:
"Are you stupid? My defense is high, that's why I dared to try the dragon blood. How did you even get involved?"
Lu Wanzhou then remembered that this brat Xiao Chen was a tough nut to crack, both smelly and stubborn, and his skin was incredibly thick. How could she have forgotten about him?
Jiang Chen hit the nail on the head:
"Sister Lu, were you very worried about me just now?"
Lu Wanzhou turned her head away, letting Jiang Chen hold her right hand for treatment; her cheeks were flushed.
"No way! I just don't want my underlings to get hurt!"
Jiang Chen's lips curled up slightly.
Sometimes, a person's subconscious reaction is their truest reaction.
After Jiang Chen cured Lu Wanzhou, he stood directly in front of the dragon's head, looking up at the enormous skull.
He was only two steps away from the dragon's head, close enough to see the mud and grass clippings embedded in the gaps between the dragon scales, and close enough to smell the pungent odor mixed with rot and rust.
Lu Wanzhou had already picked up the A-grade Dragon King Treasure Chest. Perhaps due to the special material of the chest, the dark green dragon blood that stuck to the surface of the chest slid off.
Jiang Chen looked at the enormous dragon corpse and murmured:
"Stand up!"
Jiang Chen's pupils began to change, igniting crimson flames.
Black flames surged from his body, rising and swirling like boiling ink, making him look like a dark Saiyan.
Lu Wanzhou had already picked up the emerald green Dragon King Treasure Chest and stepped back a few paces, without making a sound to disturb them.
She sat on a raised mound of earth, clutching the box, and quietly watched her man tame the zombie dragon.
Two long legs in black stockings were casually crossed.
The wind brushed past her ears, ruffling her short pink hair.
What a beautiful scene of a hero fighting a dragon while a beautiful woman is by his side.
Suddenly! The dragon's head shuddered violently!
Black mist, like ink poured into clear water, surged wildly from the seven orifices of the dragon's head and drifted out from between the dark green scales.
The dragon's eyes suddenly lit up, and the originally murky dark green was instantly replaced by two balls of crimson flames!
*Snap!*
The bones in the dragon's neck began to emit a series of cracking sounds, like countless pieces of firewood being snapped at the same time.
The dragon's wings twitched violently, and the cracks on the wing membrane were healed by the black mist.
The ground began to shake.
The claws were pulled from the soil, bringing with them large chunks of dirt and pebbles.
The dragon's tail stood tall like a giant whip.
Then, the zombie dragon, enveloped in black flames, slowly and heavily stood up!
Its massive body cast a shadow that completely covered Jiang Chen and half of the road.
Its head was lowered, its pupils, burning with crimson flames, were fixed on the much smaller figure at its feet.
Black energy surged around it, like a boiling black armor, making its aura even more terrifying than when it was alive.
But the next moment, the zombie dragon, like a toy that had lost its power, crashed to the ground with a thud, raising a cloud of dust and splattering a spray of dragon blood.
If Jiang Chen hadn't deployed his shield in time, Lu Wanzhou would have been drenched in the corrosive dragon blood.
A system notification sounded in Jiang Chen's mind:
The A-rank [Poisonous Zombie Dragon] considers you an inferior being and refuses to become your zombie servant.
[Number of attempts remaining: 2]
Jiang Chen was rejected by a zombie below S-rank for the first time. A slight smile appeared on his lips as he murmured to himself:
"Yo ho! You little dragoness are a bit arrogant! Interesting!"
"If you keep doing this, I'll have to transform into a dragon!"
