I told you to change your skills, and you changed them into a nuclear explosion immortal?

Hearing the two speak in unison, Lu Yun was taken aback.

He could understand the Mermaid King speaking, but Mu Qingcheng, what are you trying to do?

And judging from Mu Caiwei's appearance, she doesn't seem to want to leave either.

Perhaps sensing Lu Yun's suspicious gaze, Mu Qingcheng opened her mouth and said.

"We've benefited from your influence; the Merfolk's goodwill towards us has reached the level of Respect. We can use Merfolk faction points to exchange for some things that we don't have on our side."

Seeing that Lu Yun was becoming increasingly confused, Mu Qingcheng explained.

"Every race, especially those in the neutral or friendly factions, can gain favor and faction points by interacting with them or giving them items and materials. Once the favor level reaches Revered or higher, you can use faction points to exchange for items, including equipment, materials, gems, and of course, skill books."

At this point, she stared at Lu Yun for another second, and then continued speaking with some disappointment.

"Of course, skill books are extremely rare. Currently, only three races can be confirmed to be able to exchange for them, and the required faction value is astronomical. As far as I know, only two people have ever exchanged for them."

"Furthermore, due to racial characteristics, each race possesses something unique and powerful."

"For example, the merfolk are rich in gems and water-related materials, and their output is higher than that of other races."

"Of course, water-attribute equipment is also good, but you need a certain level of admiration or favorability to qualify for it."

After hearing this, Lu Yun's lips twitched, and his face darkened.

That damn Fia didn't even tell me about this!

Once the city is built, she'll extort money from her until even her own mother won't recognize her!

"Okay, I understand. So, who do I exchange it with?"

Mu Qingcheng raised her finger and pointed at the Mermaid King.

"Both he and the Queen should be able to."

Seeing Lu Yun looking at him, the Mermaid King quickly nodded.

"Yes, Lord Lu, you and your companions can exchange items with me and the Queen using faction points. Of course, to express our sincere gratitude as merfolk, we can offer you and your companions a permanent 20% discount when exchanging items."

"5% off".

Upon hearing Lu Yun's expressionless words, the Mermaid King subconsciously showed a troubled expression, but seeing Lu Yun about to take out his staff, he was immediately alarmed.

"Sure! No problem! 50% off is 50% off!"

Upon hearing this, Mu Qingcheng and the other woman's eyes lit up with joy. They quickly pulled Xu Qingmeng and ran towards the Queen, while Li Zian scratched the back of his head in confusion before following them to the Queen to exchange for items.

1000 faction points aren't much, and they can't exchange for many things, but because of the 50% discount, it's enough for them to exchange for some items.

Seeing that they were quite happy, Lu Yun turned his attention to the Mermaid King.

"Alright, now you can tell me about your situation."

Upon hearing this, the Mermaid King glanced at Xu Qingmeng and her two companions, along with the Seven Salted Fish Sisters, who were surrounding the Queen.

Then he slowly knelt on one knee, bowing his head earnestly.

"The Merfolk beg Lord Lu to take us in. We are willing to sign a master-servant contract and serve you faithfully! We only ask that you protect our Merfolk so that our race may continue!"

Lu Yun was not surprised, and didn't even show any expression.

He had already seen everything from the Mermaid King's shocked and horrified expression when he was promoted, to his hesitant expression afterwards.

Before the elves arrived, the merman king called him over, and his intentions were not hard to guess.

After all, both the Elf Forest and the Enchanted Tide have been discovered by the demon race. Even if they are eliminated this time, what will happen in the future?

Who can guarantee they won't come back again?

If Lu Yun can stop them once, why should he stay here for their sake?

To put it bluntly, he and Fia made the same decision simply to survive and ensure the continuation of their race, which is nothing to be ashamed of.

Since the decision to build a city has already been made, and the elves are going to be used as laborers, a few more wouldn't hurt.

Moreover, the merfolk fit the stereotype, and with the elves added to the mix, he believed his city would be very popular.

After pondering for a moment, seeing the Mermaid King breaking out in a cold sweat, Lu Yun finally spoke softly.

"I can shelter you, and I can even find you a new home so that you can continue to thrive."

"real?"

Upon hearing this, the Mermaid King raised his head in great surprise, and even the Mermaid Queen and the Mermaid Princesses, who had been observing from the shadows, showed joy.

It was obvious that they had already discussed it beforehand.

"My lord! If you would take in the merfolk, the merfolk would be willing to die for you!"

He was even afraid that Lu Yun would change his mind, so he bit his finger and pointed it into the air, forming a formation in front of him.

Seeing this, Lu Yun twitched his lips, his face full of black lines.

These oxen and horses are really getting anxious...

But what could he say now that things had come to this? He could only reach out and grab the magic circle.

【congratulations!】

[You have entered into a master-servant contract with the merfolk!]

You are the master, and the merfolk are their servants. From this day forward, the life and death of the merfolk will be in your hands!

Wow! Goodness, all in one go!

They're making progress even faster than the elves.

"Alright, get up now."

Upon hearing this, the Mermaid King immediately stood up excitedly.

"Thank you, sir!"

Lu Yun waved his hand and looked at Xu Qingmeng and the other three who had already changed their things.

"How is it?"

Xu Qingmeng happily ran up to Lu Yun and reached out her hand.

"Lu Yun, look! Isn't this gem beautiful? Socketing it into your weapon will increase ice damage by 15% and reduce cooldown by 10%!"

Lu Yun raised his eyebrows when he saw the attribute.

"That's really good."

This is indeed considered top-tier among gemstones, and it's the same even on the outside.

But this bonus is negligible for him, as it's a single attribute bonus, and he'd rather spend the time leveling up.

At the very least, we should wait until we get the exclusive weapon before considering this matter.

But this treasure made Xu Qingmeng and the other three very happy. After they finished exchanging for the items, Mu Caiwei looked at Lu Yun.

"Didn't you obtain the Merfolk's legacy projection? There's still some time; you can open it and take a look."

Hearing her say this, Lu Yun remembered the matter.

After opening his backpack and finding the Mermaid Treasure, he took it out.

Seeing that Xu Qingmeng and the other three had gathered around, and even the Mermaid King, Queen, and the Seven Salted Fish Sisters were filled with curiosity, Lu Yun couldn't help but smile.

"Okay, let's open it and take a look."

"Yes, yes! Please open it, sir. We have never given this treasure to anyone else."

The Mermaid King was clearly also looking forward to it, eager to see what would happen if someone else were to lead the meeting.

After all, this was the first time he had allowed an outsider to open the mermaid clan's most precious treasure.

Lu Yun nodded and then clicked to start.
