At four o'clock in the afternoon, the kindergarten released the children from their cages on time.

Jinxi had been waiting outside for half an hour. Hearing the bell ring, she turned around and looked back again.

Picking up children also requires queuing, with adults from each class standing together.

Luckily, she arrived ten minutes early today and got third place in line. She had only been standing there for a few minutes when all the tenth place spots were taken.

After the bell rang, a minute later, Jinxi saw the toddlers line up and come out.

The toddler class was on the first floor. One by one, they came out with their little backpacks and followed the teacher. They looked very well-behaved, and there was no sign of them crying loudly in the morning.

Jinxi has good eyesight and noticed that her son Zanzan was in a relatively low position in the queue, and in front of him was the young male lead, Gu Mingzheng.

Zhengzheng is clearly a lively person; after taking a few steps, she would turn back and say a few words to Zanzan.

But Zan Zan clearly couldn't be bothered to pay attention to him, not even bothering to give him a perfunctory response.

Even though he had already stepped outside, Zhou Yanqian still looked up and saw Jin Xi smiling at him.

Jinxi met his gaze and even raised her hand to wave, indicating that she was there.

Zhou Yanqian was quite happy, but his eyes still unconsciously glanced at the people in front of her. After counting Jin Xi's position, he became even happier.

Xiao Xi kept her word and really made it into the top ten!

And when Zhou Yanqian looked back again and didn't see Gu Mingzheng's mother, he felt even better. He even found Gu Mingzheng, this chattering little peacock, more pleasing to the eye.

The children were picked up one by one, and Jinxi quickly received Zanzan.

She took Zanzan's hand, looked down, and asked, "Is kindergarten fun?"

Zhou Yanqian's assessment remained the same: "So-so."

After he finished speaking, he looked around again. Something wasn't right. Wasn't one person missing?

Jinxi knew who he was looking for with his eyes darting around, so she said, "Dad is in the car."

"Oh." Zhou Yanqian thought for a moment and added, "I didn't ask him."

But in his heart he thought, "What is my father pretending for now! Nobody knows him at the kindergarten gate!"

Jinxi just smiled and didn't expose his little scheme.

But then he remembered something and pulled a handful of candy from his pocket: "Here, the candy you wanted."

Zhou Yanqian stared blankly at the candy being handed to him.

Jinxi said, "I didn't know what you wanted, so I made these snowflake crisps. I was in a hurry to leave, so I only cut five. Your dad and I each tried one, and the remaining three are for you."

Zhou Yanqian slowly raised his head and looked at Jin Xi: "Did you really do this?"

Jinxi laughed and said, "Yes, didn't you say you didn't want candy from outside?"

Zhou Yanqian was at a loss for words. He had just said it casually and had forgotten about it afterward. He never expected that Xiao Xi would actually do it for him.

He raised his other free hand, picked one up from Jinxi's hand and looked at it. Jinxi said, "This is a snowflake crisp, grape biscuit flavor. I also bought other dried fruits, but I was busy picking you up, so I only made this. Let's make it together at home tomorrow."

Zan Zan, this experimental little class is great. The next class will be on Monday, so Jin Xi needs to give him something to do.

Zhou Yanqian gave a dry "oh," but inexplicably felt a sense of satisfaction.

He was about to tear it open and taste it when he suddenly remembered something and said, "Wait for me."

Before Jinxi could understand what he was going to do, Zanzan had already let go of her hand, turned around, and walked back into the kindergarten.

Jinxi had no choice but to follow him back. The two hadn't gone very far, but Zanzan was practically running back. When Jinxi caught up, she realized he had gone to find Zhengzheng.

Zhengzheng was originally looking longingly at the line of parents, hoping to catch a glimpse of his mother, but unexpectedly, his good friend Zanzan returned.

Zhengzheng's eyes were sparkling, but before she could even speak, something was shoved into her hand.

Zhou Yanqian coldly replied, "Here's your candy back. We're even now."

Zhengzheng looked at the candy, which was almost as big as her palm, and asked, "What kind of candy is this?"

I've never seen it before.

Zhou Yanqian also got stuck. What did Xiao Xi just say?

He didn't remember anything despite his babbling.

But he still kept a straight face and said, "Call it whatever you want, Candy."

After saying that, he turned around and went to find Jinxi.

Zhengzheng, being watched by the teacher, could only pout.

Zhou Yanqian was in a good mood this time: "I want to eat."

Jin Xi was both amused and exasperated, never expecting that the little villain and the young male lead were such good friends when they were children.

She tore open the candy wrapper for Zan Zan and handed it to him, saying, "I also added your milk powder."

Zhou Yanqian said "Oh," and then asked, "What's this called?"

"Snowflake crisps," Jinxi said. "That's all I can make for now."

After receiving Zan Zan's call, she searched online and found that this was the simplest method with a low chance of failure.

So that's what it's called. Zhou Yanqian thought to himself, now he remembered.

He held the snowflake pastry Jinxi had given him in one hand, and took Jinxi's hand with the other.

Jinxi watched him open his mouth and take a bite: "How is it?"

"Delicious," Zhou Yanqian said. "Your cooking is excellent."

The texture of snowflake crisps is so unique; they feel soft, but because of the added biscuits, they are also a bit crunchy.

When Jinxi cut it, she didn't control the size very well. This snowflake crisp is quite durable and can be chewed up quite a bit. Zanzan took three bites and still hadn't finished it.

Zhou Yanqian continued, "I have my school uniform in my backpack."

"Okay, I'll wash it for you when we get back, and you can wear it to school next Monday." Jinxi said with a grin, "Is Zhengzheng your good friend?"

Who's his friend? He's just a hopeless sucker for good looks.

Zhou Yanqian didn't even bother to talk to him.

He hadn't intended to answer, but after chewing a couple of times of the snowflake crisp, he suddenly realized something. He looked up, puzzled, and asked, "How do you know his name?"

"His mother told me," Jinxi said. "I sat with his mother this morning."

When did this happen? How come he doesn't know?

Jinxi didn't hide anything from him: "After I sent you to the toddler class, I sat next door watching you."

Zhou Yanqian was so surprised that he forgot to chew his snowflake crisp: "Huh?"

He had absolutely no idea!

Jinxi laughed and said, "You wouldn't know that, would you? I was afraid I'd miss you, so I stayed for a while before leaving."

Zhou Yanqian: Here comes the sweet talk again.

What do you mean by missing him? I guess she's not in a hurry to leave because she's afraid he'll cry.

But it must be said that he found it very helpful.

Their steps became lighter, and as they ate the snowflake crisp, the little one seemed to be about to fly.

He "flew" a few steps before remembering something he hadn't asked: "Where's the car? Where is it?"

Jinxi said, "The place where we got off this morning, next to your kindergarten, doesn't allow parking, so we have to walk a bit."

It wasn't actually that far, and Zhou Yanqian accepted it well.

Jinxi pursed her lips, thinking of President Zhou in the car with a cast on his arm, and decided to give Zanzan a heads-up first.

"Oh, right, baby."

Zhou Yanqian had just finished eating a snowflake crisp when he heard Jin Xi call him. He asked, "What's wrong?"

Jinxi said, "Dad tripped and fell on his way to work today."

Zhou Yanqian imagined Zhou Linxu falling down and couldn't help but laugh: "Silly!"

Jin Xi thought to herself, "Smile now, but you won't be able to smile later."
