Zhou Linxu waited a while for Jin Xi's reply, then squeezed her fingers: "What are you thinking about?"

Jinxi snapped out of her daze and couldn't help but turn her head to glance at Zanzan, who was engrossed in playing the game. He was completely absorbed in his phone and hadn't heard a word they were saying.

Because she turned her head, Jinxi's profile was pressed tightly against Zhou Linxu's forehead, making the interplay of their body temperatures even more pronounced.

Zhou Linxu pressed his fingertips against her fingers and couldn't help but rub them.

Jinxi turned around and whispered, "I wasn't thinking about anything, I just felt like there were so many gossips, I didn't know which one to choose."

She thought of Zhou Linxu's mother again. Actually, they didn't talk much about their parents usually. She had just heard her mother say that Zhou Linxu's mother was abroad.

Jinxi asked, "Is your mother abroad now?"

"Hmm." Zhou Linxu didn't have much to hide, so he simply told the whole story: "Their marriage was arranged, and they were happy for a while, but after I turned two, Zhou Jiansheng cheated on me, and they got divorced."

His mother didn't keep either of his children. After the divorce, she settled in the United States. When he was five years old, she married a wealthy man from the United States. The following year, she gave birth to a daughter, and now they have a happy family.

The last time Zhou Linxu contacted her was to inform her of Zhou Jinming's death.

She only said "I understand," and sent a bouquet of flowers on the day of her burial, but never showed her face from beginning to end.

Zhou Linxu said in a low voice, "Zhou Jiansheng cheated on me, and Zhou Jinming and I became a stain on her reputation. At first, I hated her, but later I let it go."

"Everyone has their own life lessons to learn, and I've accepted that," Zhou Linxu whispered in Jin Xi's ear.

Jin Xi breathed slowly, and although he said he had accepted it, one could still glimpse a hint of confusion in his words.

Jinxi opened her mouth, but ultimately said nothing. Instead, she grasped his fingers and said, "It's good that everything is alright now."

Zhou Linxu gave a vague "hmm," and Jin Xi looked at the wardrobe in front of her and sighed helplessly.

Then she heard the sound of even breathing.

Jin Xi slightly raised her shoulders: "Xiao Xu?"

Zhou Linxu did not reply to her.

Jinxi thought helplessly, "How could someone fall asleep in this position? They must be exhausted."

Jinxi turned to look at Zanzan again. Anyway, the little rascal had fallen asleep without her noticing, even though the phone was still playing game sounds.

They really are father and son; they can fall asleep anytime they want.

Jinxi had no choice but to support Zhou Linxu's head with one hand, then slowly get up, straighten the pillow, and gently put him back down.

After a while, she finally moved him onto the bed. Jinxi covered him with a thin blanket, then went around to the other side, took her phone and turned it off, then stuffed Zanzan into the blanket and moved him closer to Zhou Linxu to prevent him from turning over and falling off the bed.

After sensing a familiar presence beside him, Zan Zan unconsciously shifted to the side and rolled into his father's arms.

Jinxi chuckled softly as she held her phone, quietly snapped a picture of this heartwarming moment, and then tiptoed out of the second bedroom.

Zhou Linxu woke up half an hour later.

He stared blankly at the unfamiliar ceiling light in the dimly lit room, then glanced at the blanket covering him, and his wandering rationality finally returned.

He's at his mother-in-law's house right now.

However, he remembered that he was leaning against Xiaoxi, so how did he fall asleep again?

Zhou Linxu was about to get up when he felt a slight numbness in his right arm. He turned his head and saw a little baby sleeping on his arm, who could no longer distinguish between day and night.

Zan Zan had most of his body resting on his arm, no wonder his arm felt numb.

He silently withdrew his hand, only to see Zan Zan turn over and kick him again from under the covers.

Great, I can fly freely in bed again.

Zhou Linxu felt a little helpless. He pressed his temples, bent down and kissed Zan Zan again before quietly leaving the second bedroom.

He opened the door and noticed that the living room was a bit dimly lit.

Zhou Linxu closed the door and walked into the living room, only to find that the curtains were drawn, and Jin Xi was leaning back on the sofa watching a movie on TV.

She didn't seem to notice that there was another person in the living room.

Zhou Linxu looked at the scene on the TV, coughed lightly, and reminded Jin Xi.

Jinxi sat up from the sofa and was somewhat surprised to see him come out: "Aren't you going to sleep a little longer?"

Zhou Linxu said in a low voice, "No need."

He walked over and sat down next to Jinxi: "A horror movie?"

Jinxi had a thin blanket draped over her lap, and she sat up a little straighter: "A suspense film."

Jinxi lowered her legs and sat up straighter: "Is Zanzan still sleeping?"

"Hmm." Zhou Linxu shook his still slightly numb arm. "Your sleeping posture is still very free."

Jinxi couldn't help but laugh: "Last night too, they kicked me twice in the early hours of the morning."

Zhou Linxu also twitched the corners of his mouth, his smile quite obvious.

Jin Xi stood up, and Zhou Linxu looked up at her, asking, "Where are you going?"

"There's some mung bean soup in the fridge," Jinxi said. "I'll go get it for you."

Zhou Linxu was about to say no, but Jinxi had already gone to the kitchen.

A short while later, she came out with a bowl of mung bean soup, which was icy cold and very refreshing.

Zhou Linxu accepted the mung bean soup and thanked him, then asked, "Is it still raining outside?"

"It's raining, and the ground is wet." Jinxi sat down again. "But I checked the weather forecast, and it'll start getting warmer tomorrow."

Today is probably the coolest day yet; the rest of the day will be around 36 or 37 degrees Celsius.

Zhou Linxu took a sip of mung bean soup, then placed it on the coffee table, leaned back slightly, and rested his back on the sofa.

He looked at the dimly lit living room. The house wasn't big, but it was clean and cozy.

It felt like one of those small homes you see on TV.

Jin Xi glanced at him, noticing him looking her over, and asked, "Are you not used to being here?"

"It's a habit," Zhou Linxu said. "Don't say things like that, it wouldn't be good if Mom and Dad heard it."

Having finally accepted myself, I can't let some misunderstandings ruin everything.

Seeing his serious expression, Jinxi smiled and asked, "Are you sober now?"

Zhou Linxu opened his mouth, naturally not forgetting what he had done before going to sleep.

He really takes advantage of being drunk, he dares to say and do anything.

Jinxi teased him, saying, "I was thinking that if you didn't wake up, I'd let you lean on me again."

Zhou Linxu pursed his lips, then straightened up and took a sip of the mung bean soup.

Jinxi hugged a cushion and leaned back on the sofa: "There are more in the fridge, you can take them if you like."

Zhou Linxu hummed in agreement and glanced back at Jin Xi.

Jinxi asked, "What's wrong?"

Zhou Linxu shook his head, then leaned back on the sofa. Three seconds later, he turned slightly to the side and leaned back on Jin Xi's shoulder.
