Pursued by the Heavenly Dao, first level up in the courtyard.

As winter turned to spring, the Siheyuan Film and Television World arrived in early 1952.

On the battlefield, the Qi soldiers sometimes led their troops to fight the enemy, and sometimes led their officers and soldiers to cultivate.

Having thoroughly understood the Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic and the Qingnang Book, he created a secret technique to enhance physical fitness by controlling breathing frequency.

If one cultivates the Five Elements Breathing Technique he created to its highest level, one's physical abilities can reach twice that of an ordinary person.

In their spare time, all officers and soldiers in the regiment practice the Five Elements Breathing Technique, which continuously enhances their physical fitness and combat effectiveness.

Wang Cheng, He Bin, and others intended to suppress and abolish traditional Chinese medicine by using examinations and medical certificates.

What they didn't expect was that before they could even officially take action, they were arrested as enemy agents.

The preemptive strike by Qi Bing last year has now landed squarely on Wang Cheng, He Bin, and others.

Often, you are not actually like that, but many people assume you are, and it turns out you are not.

The interrogation room was so quiet you could hear the nib of a pen scratching across paper. Li Jianguo, in charge of the interrogation, tapped the table, looked coldly at Wang Cheng, and demanded in an icy tone, "Speak quickly, when did you collude with overseas pharmaceutical companies?"

Wang Cheng's face was full of astonishment and grievance, his voice trembling: "Comrade, what you're saying is absurd! We just want to regulate the medical profession, how are we colluding with enemy agents?"

Li Jianguo sneered and questioned, "Traditional Chinese medicine has been treating illnesses for thousands of years, curing countless people. If you weren't colluding with overseas pharmaceutical companies, would you be targeting traditional Chinese medicine so relentlessly?"

"I didn't, I really didn't!" Wang Cheng cried out anxiously, sweating profusely. "I'm a Western medicine doctor. I know that medicine requires evidence. The traditional Chinese medicine diagnostic methods of observation, listening, questioning, and palpation have no scientific basis whatsoever!"

Li Jianguo angrily retorted, "Since you don't understand traditional Chinese medicine, why did you personally formulate the examination and certification rules? If you don't confess honestly, don't blame us for being impolite!"

Wang Cheng's face flushed red, and his voice trembled with tears: "I didn't collude with overseas pharmaceutical merchants! I'm more wronged than Dou E! Comrade, you must believe me!"

At that moment, another interrogator came in and handed over a note.

After reading it, Li Jianguo turned his gaze to Wang Cheng and angrily said, "You say you're not an enemy agent, then why did He Bin say that you proposed abolishing traditional Chinese medicine? And that we should completely eradicate this dross of traditional Chinese medicine?"

Wang Cheng was taken aback, then retorted, "I did say that traditional Chinese medicine is unscientific, but that was my personal opinion. My suggestion to standardize the exam was to ensure that all doctors meet the same standards."

"I'm not trying to eliminate traditional Chinese medicine. He Bin is slandering me. He must be deliberately smearing me. I really didn't collude with overseas pharmaceutical companies. I set the standards to eliminate unethical and incompetent traditional Chinese medicine practitioners."

"He Bin slandered you?" Li Jianguo asked again, "You and your friends often get together and discuss traditional Chinese medicine in private, even saying that Western medicine from overseas is the only legitimate medicine. Are these things false?"

Wang Cheng quickly explained, "We are all Western medicine doctors, so of course we think Western medicine is more advanced, but what does that have to do with overseas pharmaceutical companies? We have never had any contact with overseas pharmaceutical companies, let alone colluded with enemy agents!"

Li Jianguo angrily retorted, "If we abolish traditional Chinese medicine, hospitals will only be able to use Western medicine and overseas medical equipment. Overseas pharmaceutical companies can make money, and you can get rich too. The motive is clear, so what else is there to say?"

Wang Cheng felt deeply wronged, but didn't know how to defend himself.

Li Jianguo paused for a moment, then said, "Two years ago, you attended a Western medicine seminar in Haicheng. There were American pharmaceutical companies at that conference. Can you honestly say you didn't have any contact with them?"

Wang Cheng froze, then quickly shook his head: "I remember that seminar, but I was just exchanging medical techniques with colleagues. I had no idea who the enemy agents were. How could I possibly be colluding with overseas pharmaceutical companies?"

"You don't know?" Li Jianguo said with a half-smile, "We found out that after that seminar, you received a letter from abroad. The sender was an overseas pharmaceutical company."

Wang Cheng's face turned pale instantly, and he hurriedly explained, "It was sent by my former teacher. He's a doctor in the US, and he just sent me some Western medicine materials. You can investigate if you don't believe me."

Li Jianguo continued, "He Bin confessed that you planned to deliberately include questions in the doctor's exam that would prevent traditional Chinese medicine practitioners from obtaining their medical licenses. Is this true?"

Wang Cheng bit his lip and said in a low voice, "Yes, we do want to set more scientific exam questions. It's indeed difficult for TCM practitioners who don't understand the basics of Western medicine to pass. But we don't intend to suppress them; we just want to raise the bar for practicing medicine!"

"Raising the bar?" Li Jianguo sneered, "This is malicious targeting. Many patients in Xia Country are being treated by traditional Chinese medicine. If you revoke the licenses of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, what is that if not a disaster for the country and its people, colluding with enemy agents?"

"No! That's not it!" Wang Cheng cried out, tears streaming down his face. "I just want the medical industry to be more standardized so that patients can receive more professional treatment. I'm more wronged than Dou E!"

In another interrogation room, He Bin is being interrogated.

He Bin kept protesting his innocence: "Comrade, I've been wronged! We never colluded with overseas pharmaceutical companies. Suppressing traditional Chinese medicine was just our industry opinion. How did that make us enemy spies?"

Zhang Qiang glared at He Bin and roared, "He Bin, tell me honestly, have you, Wang Cheng, and the others been bribed by overseas pharmaceutical companies? What is your purpose?"

He Bin retorted angrily, "Bribed? Although I, He Bin, am a Western-trained doctor, I am still a citizen of China! How could I possibly be bribed by overseas pharmaceutical companies? We simply believe that traditional Chinese medicine is unscientific and want to regulate the examinations. Is that wrong?"

Zhang Qiang said coldly, "Any action that suppresses traditional Chinese medicine is helping the enemy. Your cancellation of TCM examination qualifications, preventing a large number of TCM practitioners from practicing medicine, isn't that a disaster for the country and its people? Isn't that helping enemy agents?"

He Bin was stunned, then gave a wry smile: "We just wanted to do our job well, how did we become enemy agents? Some of those traditional Chinese medicine remedies don't cure diseases at all, and can even harm people!"

Zhang Qiang then asked, "Then why do you say that traditional Chinese medicine is feudal dross and should be completely abolished? And why do you say that only Western medicine from overseas can cure diseases and save lives? Didn't you say these things yourself?"

He Bin blushed, somewhat lacking confidence: "I did say that, but that was my personal opinion. I just felt that Western medicine was more advanced and wanted to improve the medical standards of Xia Country!"

Zhang Qiang took out a confession and placed it in front of He Bin: "This is what Dr. Li, who was arrested with you, confessed. He said that you proposed to suppress traditional Chinese medicine together, and that you would receive a huge sum of money after it was done. How do you explain that?"

He Bin's eyes widened instantly, his face filled with disbelief: "What? I never said I wanted to contact overseas pharmaceutical companies, let alone that I could get a huge sum of money. Was he tortured into confessing? Or are you deliberately framing me?"

"Whether he framed you or not, we'll find out. But your actions, along with Wang Cheng's and others, are suspected of harming the country and its people, and colluding with enemy agents. You'd better confess honestly and try to get lenient treatment!"

He Bin slumped into his chair, his eyes vacant, muttering repeatedly, "I didn't, I really didn't collude with enemy agents, I'm more wronged than Dou E, more wronged than Dou E..."

More than 100 people, led by Wang Cheng and He Bin, were arrested. Some of the cowardly individuals, when faced with interrogation, said quite a lot of things, both true and false, that they should and shouldn't have said.

Wang Cheng, He Bin, and others were repeatedly interrogated. Each time, they desperately tried to defend themselves and explain their grievances, but each time, the interrogators could produce various "evidence" that left them speechless.

Only those who have wronged you truly know how wronged you are.

Qi Bing didn't know whether Wang Cheng, He Bin, and others had colluded with overseas pharmaceutical merchants and enemy agents.

He struck last year ahead of time, like setting a trap in advance, and the gang led by Wang Cheng and He Bin fell right into it this year.
