Chapter 15 I have more money than I can spend.

Chen Mo arrived in the old town by car, took out a backpack containing Thai baht from his bronze ring, and put it on his back.

The alley was deep and dark, with streetlights spaced only ten meters apart.

The air was filled with a damp, musty smell.

The sound of a dog barking came from afar, muffled, as if its mouth had been covered by something.

Following the scarred stall owner's directions, he walked through two alleys and stopped in front of a tin gate.

The door was ajar, letting in a dim, yellowish light.

Chen Mo pushed open the door and went in.

Inside was a car repair shop, with tires and tools scattered on the floor.

A bald man sat in a chair with a blue dragon tattooed on his neck, which crawled from his collar to behind his ear.

He was twirling a wrench in his hand, and two fighting dogs were crouching at his feet, their mouths gagged with leather straps, emitting low whimpers.

Two burly henchmen stood behind him.

The bald man looked up at Chen Mo, his eyes filled with malice.

"Who should I look for?"

"Find Kai."

Chen Mo stood at the door.

"Introduced by Apan."

Akai stared at him for three seconds, his gaze sweeping from his face to the watch on his wrist, and then back to his face.

He laughed, revealing a set of yellow teeth: "Chinese?"

Chen Mo did not deny it.

"Apan's friend? That means he's one of us."

Ah Kai stood up and threw the wrench to his henchman.

"What do you want?"

"Get something substantial."

Chen Mo replied calmly, "For self-defense."

Akai looked him up and down, his eyes narrowing like a businessman appraising a price.

He was impeccably dressed, exuded an extraordinary air, and the watch on his wrist flashed briefly under the light.

It looks like a fat fish.

He held out one hand, fingers spread wide: "This number."

Chen Mo had done his homework before coming.

He had checked online and knew what kind of goods were priced.

Akai quoted a price five times higher than the market price.

He smiled and said in fluent Thai:

"Brother Kai, are you trying to rip me off like a tourist? A Glock 17, genuine product, normally sells for over 40,000 baht, and even on the black market it's only around 90,000 baht. You're asking for 200,000?"

Ah Kai's smile froze for a moment.

He didn't expect this Chinese man to speak Thai so well, and to know it so clearly.

"I worked in import and export in Bangkok for three years."

Chen Mo leaned against the door frame, took a cigarette from the pack, put it in his mouth, but didn't light it.

"Go ask around in Chinatown and see if anyone dares to offer this price."

When you're out and about, you give yourself an identity; as long as it's convincing, that's fine.

Akai looked Chen Mo up and down again, his gaze had changed, no longer that of someone looking at a fat sheep.

What kind of import/export business do you do?

"Electronic products."

Chen Mo lit a cigarette, took a deep drag, and the smoke dispersed under the light.

After a few seconds of silence, Akai quoted a new price, 20% higher than the market price.

Chen Mo flicked away his cigarette ash: "Lower the price by another 10%. From now on, I'll buy goods from you every month, a long-term partnership."

Ah Kai stared at him for a long time, then smiled and reached out his hand: "Deal."

Chen Mo shook hands with him.

Ah Kai has a strong grip; he deliberately pinched me.

Chen Mo didn't exert any force; he simply looked into his eyes and smiled.

Akai loosened his grip, feeling a little uneasy.

This person's hands are as hard as iron.

He turned around and took a black briefcase from the iron cabinet in the corner. He opened it and found two pistols, three hundred rounds of ammunition, two silencers, and a bulletproof vest inside.

"Glock 17, Austrian manufacturer, 9mm. The suppressor is homemade, a bit less effective, but sufficient. Level 3 body armor protection, impervious to pistol bullets."

Chen Mo picked up a gun, weighed it in his hand, and pulled the slide—his movements were practiced.

He had already studied this knowledge online and entered his firearms skills into the system. Although he had never practiced with live ammunition, he knew the theory by heart.

He inspected the rifling, recoil spring, and magazine catch; everything was in good condition.

"Where are the bullets?"

"Original product, not a repackaged one."

Akai took out a box of bullets and weighed it in his hand.

"Use it with confidence."

Chen Mo put down the gun, took out cash from his backpack, and counted it out in stacks.

Akai stared at the money, his eyes shining.

His eyes fell on the backpack, which was bulging; it must be full of money...

The two henchmen counted the money and handed the goods over to Chen Mo.

The money and goods were settled.

Chen Mo put the items into his backpack and zipped it up.

Ah Kai walked him to the door and patted him on the shoulder:

"Hey bro, next time you come, just look for me, I'll give you a discount."

Chen Mo nodded, turned and walked into the alley.

I had only taken a few steps when I heard footsteps behind me.

He didn't turn around, nor did he stop walking.

Ah Kai's voice came from behind: "Brother, wait a minute."

Chen Mo stopped walking, but didn't turn around.

"It's not safe for you to be carrying so much cargo alone. I'll send someone to deliver it to you."

"Need not."

Chen Mo continued walking forward.

Two henchmen chased after him from behind and flanked him from the left and right.

One of them reached out and put his hand on his shoulder, his fingers pressing firmly:

"Brother, Brother Kai is doing this out of kindness, don't be ungrateful."

Chen Mo stopped, took the cigarette out of his mouth, and flicked off the ash.

He turned to look at the henchman, his eyes calm.

"Take your hand away."

The henchman didn't move, but instead increased his strength: "You—"

Before he could finish speaking, Chen Mo's shoulder slumped, and a burst of energy exploded.

A cracking sound came from the henchman's wrist as the bone broke.

Before he could react, Chen Mo had already turned around and punched him in the chest.

The hidden force penetrated his body, sending the henchman flying. He crashed into the wall, foaming at the mouth, and slid down to the ground, where he collapsed.

Another henchman paused for a second, then reached for the gun at his waist.

Chen Mo took a step forward, grabbed his wrist with his five fingers, twisted and pulled, and released his strength.

The henchman screamed and knelt on the ground, his wrists hanging limply at his sides, his back instantly soaked with cold sweat.

Ah Kai stood at the door, his face ashen, his mouth agape, and the wrench in his hand lying on the ground.

The two fighting dogs broke free of their harnesses and charged at Chen Mo, baring their teeth.

Chen Mo turned around and kicked the lead dog in the chin. The dog flew sideways, crashed into an oil drum, and howled as it couldn't get up.

Just as the other dog pounced into the air, Chen Mo slapped it on the waist. The sound of bones breaking was particularly crisp in the alley. The dog fell to the ground, its barking growing fainter and fainter.

Ah Kai took a step back and bumped into the door frame.

Chen Mo put the cigarette back in his mouth, walked over, and stopped in front of him.

"Brother Kai, is there anything else you need to tell me?"

Akai's lips trembled as he tried to speak, but his throat felt like it was being choked.

He knelt down with a thud, put his hands together, and mumbled a string of Thai words, roughly meaning that he was blind to the great man he was talking about, that he should have mercy, and that he could ask for anything in the future.

Chen Mo looked down at him, finished his cigarette, flicked the butt into the oil drum, and patted his face.

"Calling you 'Brother Kai' is a courtesy, don't push your luck. If you act recklessly again, I'll make sure you disappear from Bangkok completely."

He turned and walked into the alley.

Ah Kai knelt on the ground, watching his figure disappear into the darkness, unable to stand up for a long time.

He touched his neck; his hands were covered in sweat.

The henchman scrambled to his feet, clutching his severed hand, his face contorted in a grimace: "Brother Kai, should we call for backup?"

Ah Kai slapped him across the face:

"Call me your mother! You think you can mess with this guy? I've been in Bangkok for twenty years and I've never seen such ruthless kung fu. If that punch had landed on my head, I'd be meeting Buddha right here and now."

He stood up, his legs still trembling.

"From now on, if this person comes, just call me. Give him whatever he wants, and I'll charge him the lowest price. Got it?"

The henchman covered his swollen cheek and nodded repeatedly.

Chen Mo walked out of the alley and stood on the side of the street.

The night breeze carried away some of the smell of blood from my body.

He took out the last cigarette from the pack, put it in his mouth, and lit it.

I put everything into the storage space and took out my phone.

The notification sound exploded, and the screen was filled with Lin Yue's missed calls and WeChat messages.

Before he could even look at it, his phone vibrated again.

Lin Yue called.

"Brother Mo! You've finally turned on your phone! You're famous! The whole internet is looking for you!"

Chen Mo exhaled a puff of smoke and leaned against the wall: "It's on fire?"

"TikTok! Your smoking video! 30 million views! 2 million likes! Do you know how many girls are calling you 'husband' in the comments?!"

Lin Yue's voice was trembling.

Chen Mo was stunned for a moment.

"I have never posted on Douyin."

Lin Yue was too embarrassed to explain.

"I took this picture of you today."

Chen Mo chuckled and said, "I understand."

"You know? Is that all the reaction you're going to get? You're famous! You're going to be a star! Do you know how many people are looking for you right now! People want to create fan groups for you, people want to build supertopics for you, and agencies are even messaging me wanting to sign you!"

"Sign me?"

Chen Mo frowned. "Why would you sign me?"

"Take photos of yourself! Become an internet celebrity! Your face is money the moment you stand in front of the camera!"

Chen Mo chuckled and flicked away his cigarette ash: "No need, I don't need that kind of money."

Lin Yue paused for a moment on the other end of the phone.

Chen Mo put the cigarette back in his mouth: "I'll hang up now, I have something to do."

"No, no, no."

Lin Yue panicked.

"Where are you? I'm coming to find you! Let's film a video together tomorrow! I'll manage it for you, and I guarantee you'll gain five million followers in a month!"

"I won't film."

"Why?!"

"I have more money than I can spend."

Chen Mo hung up the phone and put it back in his pocket.

On the other end of the phone, Lin Yue fell silent.

"Could it be that Brother Mo is a hidden rich kid?"

Chen Mo hailed a taxi and gave them the hotel address.

As the car entered the main road, neon lights stretched out in colorful lines outside the windows.

My phone vibrated again.

Lu Xingyao sent a message: "Are you back yet? I'm waiting for you."

Chen Mo replied, "I'm here. Get cleaned up and wait for me."
