Chapter 236 I'll Show Off My Skills Too
Chen Mo found the soldiers' disdainful looks to be quite normal.
Ye Jingge was alright; he looked somewhat like a soldier.
And what about himself?
With an incredibly handsome face, fair and delicate skin, and the rapid passage of time due to repeated time travels, his hair had grown quite long and was tied in a braid at the back of his head, making him look nothing like a soldier.
Several officers led them to a conference room, where Chen Mo and Ye Jingge sat in the main seats.
Without wasting words, Ye Jingge ordered all officers of company commander rank and above to be summoned.
Soon a dozen officers arrived, sitting neatly in chairs, their military bearing impeccable, their backs ramrod straight, but the meaning in their eyes was unmistakable.
They knew that this Major General Ye was a second-generation scion of the capital who had been parachuted in to take over the entire border defense line.
But who is that young man next to him?
He doesn't look like a soldier, yet he's wearing a major general's uniform!
Ye Jingge spoke only after everyone had arrived.
"I called you here today to announce something."
"Select two hundred of the best soldiers from each company to form a special training team for a fifteen-day closed-door intensive training program!"
No one spoke, but the company commanders quickly exchanged glances.
The company commander, sitting in the front row, hesitated for a moment before raising his hand.
"Report!"
"speak."
The third company commander stood up straight, his tone respectful.
"Reporting to the commander, our daily training has never been interrupted. Physical fitness, combat, and high-altitude/cold-region tactics are all being trained according to the syllabus. Do the training department have a specific plan for another round of intensive closed training? What will the training subjects be? Who will be the instructors?"
The question was asked so subtly, but the underlying meaning was obvious to everyone.
If we practice what we do every day and then lock ourselves up to practice it for fifteen days, what kind of amazing results can we achieve?
The others remained silent, but their gazes all fell on Ye Jingge.
Chen Mo also looked at Ye Jingge curiously, wondering how he would respond.
Ye Jingge knew that since he had just taken office, his subordinates would be somewhat resentful. Now that his strength had increased dramatically, he would defeat them.
He glanced at the company commander but didn't answer him. Instead, he scanned everyone in the conference room and said something that surprised everyone.
"Everyone, listen to my command. Anyone who disagrees, come forward."
The air in the command room seemed to be sucked out for a moment.
The company commander stood frozen in place, thinking he had misheard.
Ye Jingge took off his coat, folded it neatly on the back of the chair, unbuttoned the cuffs, and rolled up the sleeves twice to reveal the well-defined muscles on his forearms.
He walked to the podium in the conference room, turned to face them, and his expression remained unchanged.
"You think special training is unnecessary?"
He looked around.
"All of you come at me together. Whoever can knock me down, I'll pretend this special training never happened."
This statement goes beyond the scope of a regular command and should never appear in any situation.
But Ye Jingge's tone was not provocative or defiant; rather, it was as if he were stating a fact.
He needed these people to see this fact with their own eyes.
The third company commander stood still and glanced at the other company commanders beside him.
One of the battalion commanders was a seasoned veteran who had served for nearly twenty years, working his way up from squad leader.
He slowly stood up, unbuttoned his top button, walked up to Ye Jingge, and saluted.
"Sir, I apologize for the inconvenience."
With a wave of his hand, the third company commander and the other two company commanders stood up at the same time.
Four people surrounded them from four directions.
The battalion commander charged forward head-on, executing a standard capture maneuver, aiming straight for Ye Jingge's waist.
He didn't want to hurt anyone, he just wanted to knock them down.
The one on the left sweeps his leg, the one on the right locks his shoulder; their coordination is perfect, they must have trained together through thick and thin.
Then no one could see it clearly.
Then several muffled thuds were heard.
The moment the battalion commander's hand touched Ye Jingge's waist, he felt as if he had crashed into a moving wall. His center of gravity was instantly shifted, and by the time he realized what was happening, his back was already on the ground.
Ye Jingge gently hooked the ankle of the left leg that was sweeping the leg with the back of his foot, causing the person to stumble forward. Ye Jingge caught the person so that they didn't fall hard.
As soon as the right shoulder lock joint exerted force, he found that his wrist had been locked behind his back without him even realizing it.
None of the four men lasted more than three seconds under Ye Jingge's attack.
The command room was so quiet that you could hear the faint hum of the tungsten filament in the light bulb.
All the company commanders stood up, their military posture ramrod straight, their expressions shifting from observation to shock.
Ye Jingge pulled the company commanders up, patted the dust off the first battalion commander's shoulder, and walked back to the table.
He didn't laugh, nor did he show any smugness.
His gaze became very serious, even somewhat somber.
"I know what you're thinking."
Ye Jingge looked at them.
"You all think I'm from Beijing, sitting in an office, here to get some experience. You may not say it, but you're all secretly resentful."
No one responded, but no one bowed their head either.
"I don't care about those ideas."
Ye Jingge lowered his voice.
"I'll only tell you one thing: in fifteen days, everyone who has undergone special training will be stronger than I am now."
These words struck everyone like a heavy hammer.
The battalion commander looked up at Ye Jingge, his Adam's apple bobbing.
Ye Jingge walked over to Chen Mo, who had been sitting in a chair, and gave him a respectful military salute.
Everyone's eyes turned to him, staring wide-eyed at Chen Mo.
A major general from Beijing actually saluted another major general who didn't look like a soldier?
Two golden stars rested on the pine branches. They were younger than Ye Jingge, had long hair, and sat silently to the side without saying a word.
Ye Jingge bent down and leaned close to Chen Mo's ear to ask.
"Mr. Chen, is there anything you want to say?"
Chen Mo nodded and slowly stood up.
"Since Major General Ye has already shown his skills, I'll also show you a couple of tricks so you won't have any doubts."
As soon as he finished speaking, he raised his right hand, spread his five fingers, and faced upwards.
The next second, he clenched his fist tightly, and with a loud bang, the sonic boom exploded directly in the conference room!
Everyone in the conference room stood up abruptly, their breath caught in their throats, mouths agape, eyes wide as they stared at his right hand.
Ye Jingge was stunned for two seconds, and when he spoke again, his voice was a few points louder than before.
"This is Major General Chen Mo! He will be the chief instructor for this special training. He's the one who taught me my skills."
Chen Mo gestured for everyone to sit down.
"Everyone, focus on your training for fifteen days. Once we're stronger, we'll head to the border and give those Indians a good beating! We'll get back everything we suffered and all the humiliation we endured, with interest!"
Everyone below had their eyes shining. If they learned this skill, they could easily beat up Indians like a father beating his son.
Ye Jingge's gaze swept across each face.
"Now, does anyone have any questions?"
There was a full five seconds of silence in the conference room.
Then the battalion commander stood up, his boots clicking on the ground with a crisp sound, stood at attention, and saluted.
"Reporting to the commander, the First Company has volunteered for battle."
"Two companies volunteered for the mission."
"Three consecutive requests to join the fight."
