Brother Long's men were all mobilized that night; Bangkok's underworld has its own connections.

Brother Long has been in this business for over twenty years, working his way up from his hometown in Chaoshan. His network of connections is denser than a spider's web.

He entrusted this matter to Akai, who divided the people into three groups.

One team was stationed at airports and train stations, another team checked hotels and rental houses, and a third team was specifically tasked with contacting human smugglers.

On the first day, there was no news from any of the three groups.

The Naga is like a drop of water merging into the Chao Phraya River.

Ah Kai personally went to the Lotus Hotel to check the surrounding surveillance footage, watching it four times from morning to night, but couldn't find a single trace of them.

Chen Mo waited for news in the presidential suite.

I made three short-term trades this morning, netting $1.4 million.

In the afternoon, Lu Xingyao dragged him to film a Douyin video with the background being an infinity pool outside the floor-to-ceiling windows.

The comment section was still filled with insults, and her followers increased by another 50,000. Su Wan, meanwhile, was learning to cook new dishes.

That evening, after taking a shower, Lu Xingyao came out wearing only a bath towel, with water droplets sliding down her collarbone.

She threw the bath towel on the ground, crawled into Chen Mo's blanket, and pressed her whole body against him.

"That Douyin video of mine got another two thousand negative comments today."

"How many more followers have you gained?"

Thirty thousand.

She buried her face in the crook of his neck.

"The more they criticize, the more followers they gain. It'll infuriate them."

Su Wan came out of the bathroom, changed into a pale yellow silk nightgown, and wrapped her hair in a towel.

She didn't say anything, but lifted the blanket from the other side and lay down. The silk material was very thin, and her body heat came through the fabric.

Chen Mo had his left arm around Lu Xingyao and his right hand on Su Wan's waist. Their breathing gradually calmed down in the darkness.

At 2 a.m., Chen Mo's phone vibrated.

It was Kai who called.

"Brother Mo, we've found him. Warehouse number three in the dockside warehouse area."

Chen Mo sat up, and Lu Xingyao, still half asleep, hugged his waist: "What's wrong...?"

"It's okay, go back to sleep."

Chen Mo removed her hand from her waist and tucked it back into the blanket.

Su Wan opened her eyes, but didn't say anything; she just looked at him.

Chen Mo shook his head slightly at her. Su Wan lowered her eyelashes and pulled the blanket up to cover half of her face.

Chen Mo got dressed and prepared to go out.

As they reached the door, Su Wan's voice came softly from behind: "Be careful."

He didn't turn around, opened the door and walked out.

The dock and warehouse area is located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River.

Rows of corrugated iron factory buildings squatted in the night, the air filled with the smells of rust, diesel, and the fishy smell of river water.

Akai stood at the entrance of warehouse number three, with a fresh abrasion on his left cheek.

Two of his men were sitting on the ground, one clutching his arm and the other with a bandage wrapped around his forehead.

There was another person lying next to them, shot in the abdomen, and two brothers were carrying him into the car.

"Brother Mo, the person has escaped."

Ah Kai threw the cigarette butt on the ground and stomped it out.

"That kid had a weapon. A Glock 19 with a silencer. My men had just surrounded him when he raised his hand and fired three shots."

One was hit in the abdomen, and the other two were taken down by his bare hands. He climbed out of the back window and was hit with a stick while running away, likely injuring his ribs.

Chen Mo went into the warehouse and took a look; the back window had been smashed open.

"Which direction did they run in?"

"The alley was too deep; we couldn't catch up."

Chen Mo offered a cigarette to Akai and a few of his brothers, and Akai lit it and took a puff.

"However, I have already had the entire dock area surrounded. He can't escape from this area."

"He won't run away."

Chen Mo turned around. "His target is me. He won't leave Bangkok until the mission is complete. With the warehouse exposed, he'll just find another place to hide."

Ah Kai paused for a moment, then immediately realized: "I'll have people sweep through the rental houses and unfinished buildings near the docks."

"Focus on checking the area near the dock. He broke his ribs and can't go very far."

Akai nodded, took out his phone, and began to allocate manpower.

At four o'clock in the morning, Kai called again.

"Brother Mo, we've cornered them. They're at Pier 3, on a fishing boat."

"Keep an eye on him, I'm coming right away."

When Chen Mo arrived, Akai's men had already surrounded the fishing boat.

There were a dozen or so men, each with a gun, all pointing their weapons at the deck. But no one fired.

Naga stood on the deck, his left hand around a man's neck, and his right hand pressing the muzzle of a gun against the hostage's temple.

The Glock 19, with the suppressor removed, has its muzzle pressed directly against the skin.

The hostage was one of Akai's underlings, and his face was so swollen from being strangled.

Naga himself wasn't in much better shape either.

His left eye was so swollen it was barely a slit, and the blood at the corner of his mouth hadn't dried yet.

A large patch of blood was seeping from the left side of his black T-shirt, where a rib was broken, and his body would hunch slightly with each breath.

He was being held at gunpoint by more than a dozen guns, with only one hostage in his hand, and the light shooting from his right eye was still like a knife.

Chen Mo stood at the back of the crowd and did not move forward.

He took out his phone and dialed Kai's number.

Give him the phone.

Akai threw his phone onto the deck, and Naga picked it up and put it to his ear.

"Naga. I am the one you want to kill."

Chen Mo's voice came through the receiver.

Naga's right eye narrowed slightly.

"Release the hostages and let's talk. If you fire this shot, you'll die on this fishing boat, and you won't get a single penny of the $500,000."

Chen Mo spoke slowly, and every word was clear and distinct.

"Put down the gun, and I'll spare your life."

Naga did not move.

I won't kill you.

Chen Mo paused for a moment, then said, "I'll hire you."

Naga blinked his right eye.

One million US dollars.

Naga's lips twitched slightly, but the gun barrel remained completely still.

His voice was hoarse, coming through the phone receiver:

"Once I accept an order, I have to finish it. That's standard practice in the industry."

Two million.

Naga tightened his grip on the trigger slightly.

"In our line of work, reputation is paramount!"

Three million.

The dock was so quiet that only the sound of the river lapping against the shore could be heard. Naga's breathing became noticeably heavier, and with each breath, the broken ribs caused him intense pain. His forehead was covered in sweat.

But his hand holding the gun remained steady.

"I'm a professional assassin; completing my mission is more important than my own life."

His voice came through the receiver, hoarse and deep.

"It's not about the money."

Chen Mo didn't speak; all that could be heard on the phone was Naga's heavy breathing.

ten seconds.

Fifteen seconds.

Five million.

Naga's Adam's apple bobbed one last time, then he opened his mouth, his voice even hoarser than before.

"What will happen to my reputation?"

"I'll cooperate with you to film a video of you faking your death."

Chen Mo's voice came through the receiver.

"You complete the task, maintain your reputation, and you can also get a commission."

Naga fell silent.

"Then you work for me and make money off me. It's a win-win situation."

The dock was quiet for another five seconds.

Naga lowered his gun.

The hostages lay limp on the deck and were dragged away by Akai's men.

Naga stood there, his ribs broken, his eyes swollen, still clutching the cell phone in his hand.

For the first time, a crack appeared in the cold light in his right eye.

"That's more like it. I'm very rich, extremely rich. Work for me, and I guarantee you'll make an endless amount of money."

Chen Mo said with a grin.

From 500,000 to 5 million, that's a full tenfold increase.

Akai put away his gun and walked up to Chen Mo with a smile.

"Brother Mo, you're so generous. Do you think I still have a chance to work with you?"

"No!"

Brother Long's warehouse.

Naga was tied to an iron chair, and his wounds had been given basic treatment.

Chen Mo pulled up a chair and sat down opposite him, lighting a cigarette.

Naga raised her head and looked at him with her right eye, which was still open. "You mean five million?"

"Don't worry, as I said, I'm very rich. Five million is just a drop in the ocean. You have to believe me unconditionally."

Naga lowered his head and remained silent.

Clearly not believing it, Chen Mo exhaled a puff of smoke.

"I can earn tens of millions of dollars a day!"

Naga suddenly looked up at Chen Mo, his face filled with disbelief.

"I'll give you five million US dollars, paid in one lump sum. Once you've done the job for me, the money is yours."

"Okay, what do we need to do?"

"Kill someone for me, your employer!"

Chen Mo's goal was clear from the beginning. Now, money is just a string of cold data to him. He can earn as much as he wants in the US stock market at any time.

However, he will inevitably clash with various enemies and opponents in the future, and he has no one he can rely on, especially special talents like Naga.

So from the very beginning, he planned to use money to bribe Naga, a desperate criminal.
