The sun is setting on Santa Monica Beach.

The sand had been baking in the sun all day, and when you stepped on it barefoot, a warm sensation rose up from the soles of your feet.

The sun slowly sank below the horizon, turning half the sky a scorching orange-red, even the clouds glowing with an orange light.

Chen Mo, wearing sunglasses, casually had one hand in his pocket and a cigarette between his fingers, strolling slowly on the beach, surrounded by three blonde girls.

Amy clung tightly to his left arm, her whole body softly pressed against him, her chest rubbing against his arm, clinging to him relentlessly.

Sophie pressed herself against his right side, her fingers hooking around his waist, clinging to him.

Lily simply walked backwards in front of him, holding up her phone and taking pictures of him continuously.

"OMG, Chen, you look so handsome in sunglasses! Even more charming than on the plane!"

Chen Mo felt a surge of joy; the halo of fifty billion US dollars was so simple and unpretentious.

A few young white men carrying surfboards nearby couldn't help but turn around to look after a few steps, their eyes full of envy.

The middle-aged man lying on the beach chair pulled his sunglasses down halfway, staring intently at the three girls next to Chen Mo. He took a big gulp of beer, turned his head and muttered to his companion.

"Who is this Asian kid? Why is he so popular?"

His companion remained silent, his eyes glued to the three girls, his face full of envy.

Amy suddenly stopped, turned around, and looked up at Chen Mo with starry eyes.

"Chen, can you take off your sunglasses and let me see them? Just for a second."

As he spoke, he reached out to pick it, but Chen Mo gently turned his head away, put the cigarette in his mouth, and curled up a smile that was both flirtatious and mischievous.

"You can't pick them. If you do, none of you three will be able to sleep tonight. You'll definitely have insomnia."

"Chen! We've been having trouble sleeping for ages!"

Sophie was hanging directly on his right arm, her pretty face tilted up, her blue eyes sparkling in the sunset, as if they held a hidden light.

"I watched your fighting videos all night the other night. When you kicked that fat guy to the ground, I screamed for a whole minute! It was so cool!"

Lily walked around to his front, still taking pictures of him with her phone.

This upward-angle shot would have made anyone else look terrible, but Chen Mo's sharp jawline looks even more stunning in the sunset shot.

"Chen, what were you thinking when you were fighting that butcher? That kick was insane! My roommates watched the video and didn't believe I knew you. I just told them you were my boyfriend, and they were all incredibly envious!"

"I'm trying not to get my shoes dirty."

Chen Mo replied casually, his tone nonchalant.

"However, Lily, you know, my love is immense, and it's never just for one girl. I'm sincere towards you, Sophia, and Amy, so it's impossible for me to just be your boyfriend."

Upon hearing this, the three girls burst into laughter. Their clear laughter drifted in the sea breeze, attracting tourists from further away to turn and look in their direction.

Chen Mo's hand, holding a cigarette, hung casually at his sides. The setting sun, sinking heavily in the sky, was reflected in the lenses of his sunglasses, making him both cool and alluring.

He knew perfectly well that when you have money and good looks, whatever you say is right; when you don't have money, whatever you say is wrong.

As I said before, the halo of five billion US dollars is just that simple and unpretentious.

Amy took a step forward, her smile fading slightly, her eyes becoming serious and bold as she looked up at Chen Mo.

"Chen, I want to do something, and you're not allowed to hide!"

"Amy, I'm a man, I'm not going to hide."

Chen Mo exhaled a puff of smoke.

Amy didn't say anything more. She hugged Chen Mo with both hands, stood on tiptoe, and tilted her head back to kiss him.

Suddenly, people around started whistling.

A blonde girl in a bikini walked by, and I suddenly stopped in my tracks. I pretended to be calm and walked on, but even after walking quite a distance, I couldn't help but turn around and steal a glance.

After a moment, Amy let go of him, her eyes crinkling into crescents as she smiled, her face full of shyness.

"It's even better than I expected; your lips are much softer than they look."

Sophia immediately became unhappy, reached out and pulled Amy away, squeezed herself into Chen Mo's arms, hugged his waist tightly, and tilted her head back with a competitive spirit.

"My turn!"

She kissed him more boldly than Amy, with a strong sense of provocation.

When they parted, she gently bit Chen Mo's lip, took a half step back, licked her lips, and looked at the other two girls with smug eyes.

"Chen, kissing you feels amazing."

Not to be outdone, Lily snatched the spot, cupped Chen Mo's face in her hands, stared intently at him, and whispered, "Neither of their kisses counts."

After saying that, she tiptoed and kissed him. Her kiss was the gentlest, yet it lingered for a long time.

When she let go, her ears were bright red, but she still stubbornly insisted on being defiant.

"That's what a proper kiss is! Yours don't count!"

The three girls stood on the beach, looking at each other and exchanging knowing glances.

Immediately afterwards, the three of them burst into laughter, their laughter mingling with the sea breeze, full of youthful ambiguity and joy.

Several young white and black people around him, holding surfboards, were completely dumbfounded. One of them almost slipped off his surfboard and hit his own foot.

What's going on?

Three white girls pursuing an Asian boy?

Chen Mo put the cigarette in his mouth, took a drag, and exhaled a puff of white smoke.

"My English still needs improvement. Tonight I'd like to learn some more advanced material from you all."

Amy blinked, reacting the fastest.

"Chen, my English is the best. I can be a teacher. I won first prize in an oral English competition."

Sofia immediately interrupted:

"Your competition was in high school! I won a writing award in college, and my vocabulary is much larger than yours."

Lily slowly straightened her chest and walked up to Chen Mo.

"Chen, their combined scores aren't even as high as mine."

She proudly raised her chin.

"There's no one in our dorm tonight, so I can tutor you all by myself."

Chen Mo glanced at the size; it was indeed the largest of the three.

"Lily, very good!"

Amy and Sophia panicked.

"Lily, you're dreaming! Don't even think about tutoring Chen alone!"

The three of them stared at each other simultaneously, their hostility undisguised.

Chen Mo said with a smile.

"Sweethearts, one person isn't enough. Tonight, the three of you will tutor me together."

The three women exchanged a smile.

Just then.

Four black Chevrolet SUVs braked suddenly at the entrance to the beach.

The tires left four charred skid marks on the asphalt road, kicking up sand and gravel that splashed everywhere, and causing the sirens of several parked cars nearby to wail loudly.

The car doors popped open at the same time.

Twenty gunmen dressed in black suits and wearing black sunglasses got out of the car.

Each person was armed with automatic weapons: MP5 submachine guns, short-barreled rifles, and two Remington shotguns.

The leader was bald, with his suit sleeves rolled up to his elbows, revealing forearms covered in faded tattoos.

He glanced towards the beach and pointed in Chen Mo's direction.

The twenty men spread out in a fan shape and advanced with guns raised.

Their movements were synchronized and uniform, clearly indicating that they were professionally trained mercenaries, not street thugs.

The gun barrel gleamed coldly in the setting sun, and the leather shoes made a dull rustling sound as they stepped on the sand.

Tourists screamed and scattered in all directions.

A child was carried under his father's arm and ran wildly onto the road, knocking over several rows of beach chairs. Someone stepped on a pair of sunglasses that had fallen to the ground, and didn't even stop when shards got into their feet.

The coconut water vendor threw down his cart, scattering drinks and ice all over the ground.

The entire beach seemed to have been fast-forwarded; everyone was fleeing.

Apart from Chen Mo and his group.
