The hospital is too busy, so I'm going to join the army and become a top soldier!

The first month in basic training passed quickly.

For ordinary people, it might just be a page turned on the calendar.

But for the new recruits in the recruit training camp...

This one month was enough to transform them from a group of unsupervised college students who couldn't find their socks when they heard the reveille.

Gradually, they will become qualified recruits who can dress, wash, tidy their belongings, and assemble within the allotted time!

In the first few days after enlisting, the second squad conducted what felt like an emergency evacuation drill every morning.

Now, as soon as the reveille sounds, everyone in the dormitory except for the four most academically gifted students has already gotten ready and is practicing on the playground.

Others can also complete everything required as quickly as possible.

Of course, the one who changed the most in this month was Shen Yan!

Now, the weight in his backpack for running has steadily increased to 35 kilograms!

The growth rate has slowed down compared to before.

Even with system enhancements, things started to slow down.

However, this growth rate still surprised Chen Gang and Gao Zhenhai, who were leading him!

For ordinary new recruits, running five kilometers with a 35-kilogram load sounds terrifying.

However, after each training session, Shen Yan experienced noticeably heavier breathing and normal fatigue in his shoulders, back, and legs.

His overall condition remains quite stable.

Chen Gang initially worried that Shen Yan was gaining weight too quickly, but gradually he started personally checking Shen Yan's weight bag before training every day.

That morning, as Shen Yangang placed his backpack on the weighing scale, Chen Gang stared at the numbers for a few seconds.

"Thirty-six kilograms? You added another kilogram?"

Shen Yan nodded.

Chen Gang stared at Shen Yan for a long time, then patted him on the shoulder helplessly.

Then he gave Shen Yan a thumbs up.

"Awesome!"

Apart from Shen Yan.

After Wei Shanjia and Ga Wa officially joined the pre-training physical training, they also underwent a full month of high-intensity extra training.

When they first joined, the two were as excited as if they had finally earned the right to challenge the masters.

But after a month of extra training, a strong feeling arose in their hearts.

"Is Shen Yan even human? How can he endure training like this every day?"

"Why the hell would I go through all this trouble with him?"

Wei Shanjia even developed a very strong illusion.

Shen Yan was not his comrade-in-arms at all, but a humanoid robot wearing a military uniform who could walk on his own.

It seems to never get tired, always updating the program, and getting stronger every day!

Despite the pain, the two of them made remarkable progress.

Wei Shanjia was originally a sports student with a good physical foundation. After joining the extra training, his performance in the 3,000 meters, push-ups, and horizontal bar continued to improve.

His biggest change, however, was not physical fitness, but rather his formation movements and sense of discipline.

In the past, when Gao Zhenhai shouted "Turn right!", Wei Shanjia would first need to hold an emergency meeting in his mind to discuss which side was the right side.

His body can now automatically complete the correct actions before his brain even begins to process them!

Ga Wa, on the other hand, showed obvious talent in endurance, body coordination and sense of direction.

Especially when making short-distance turns and quick changes of direction, his footwork is as agile as a black goat in the mountains.

As Gao Zhenhai watched the training results of Class Two improve day by day, the smile on his face became harder to suppress.

He used to not understand why his old sergeant was happy when he saw elite soldiers, but sighed when he saw ordinary soldiers.

Now he finally understands.

A good soldier not only improves himself, but also leads the whole class forward!

Some of the new recruits in the second platoon were originally thinking about how to get as few scoldings as possible during training.

Now, however, they are thinking about how to keep up with Shen Yanwei, Shan Jia, and Ga Wa!

This kind of invisible competition is more effective than Gao Zhenhai shouting himself hoarse every day.

Just as everyone was gradually adapting to life in the recruit company, a message began to circulate quietly in the camp.

The recruit training camp is about to conduct its first phase assessment!

At first, it only circulated among the new recruits.

Later, the class monitors suddenly began to increase the intensity of their inspections.

Today we check the blankets, tomorrow we draw up the commands, and the day after tomorrow we take everyone to the playground to re-correct the turning technique.

Even the slowest recruits realized that this was most likely true!

Upon hearing the news of the assessment, Wei Shanjia's first reaction was not nervousness, but excitement!

For the past month, he had been forced to practice almost every event by Shen Yan, and now he finally had the opportunity to be officially ranked.

He had already made up his mind.

Other events can be left aside for now, but when it comes to running, I must uphold the bottom line for a sports student!

He wanted to have a showdown with Shen Yan!

Ga Wa, however, was not as confident as him.

He stood by the bed, looking around his blanket several times, his expression even more serious than when facing a knife-wielding assailant.

"Hey friend, do you think my blanket is square?"

Wei Shanjia went over and observed for a long time.

"You're much better than when you first enlisted. At least now you can tell it's a blanket, not a clump of straw just pulled out of a sheep's belly!"

The little boy was somewhat dissatisfied.

"Hey friend, could you please stop using our gibberish?"

Wei Shanjia patted him on the shoulder.

"Don't worry, Adasi, as long as your blanket is more square than mine, it'll definitely be fine."

Ga Wa turned to look at the blanket on Wei Shanjia's bed, which looked like tofu from a distance but was vaguely soft upon closer inspection, and said earnestly:

"Friend, isn't your standard a bit too low?"

Wei Shanjia immediately regretted why he had comforted him.

Shen Yan didn't react much to the news about the assessment.

Based on the current training schedule, it mostly focuses on housekeeping, regulations, drills, and basic physical fitness.

These are the things that recruits have been repeatedly trained on in the recruit training camp for the past month.

The next morning, the reveille had not yet sounded as usual.

The biological clocks of Shen Yan and the other three had already woken them up ahead of time.

Today, after Wei Shanjia got out of bed, the first thing he did was not to go downstairs to exercise.

Instead, she went to the bedside to check if the blankets she had folded the night before had collapsed on their own during the night.

Ga Wa also circled halfway around his bed, and only felt slightly relieved after confirming that the edges of the quilt on both sides had not turned into a nausea curve.

After morning exercises, the entire recruit company did not go directly to the training area as usual, but reassembled on the main parade ground.

Tables, lists, and scorebooks have already been set up next to the playground.

Several assessment officers from the regiment stood at the front, and all the squad leaders and company officers were also present.

Seeing this display of force, the recruits' last shred of hope vanished completely.

Chen Gang stood at the front of the line, his gaze sweeping over everyone, his voice carrying clearly across the playground.

"Today we are conducting the first phase assessment for the new recruits."

"The main focus is on checking your mastery of basic training content since you enlisted more than a month ago."

"The assessment includes housekeeping and hygiene, regulations and rules, drill movements, and basic physical fitness."

Individual scores will be ranked, and scores from all classes will be tallied to determine the final group rankings.

The new recruits on the parade ground immediately became even more nervous.

If they don't perform well in regular training, the squad leader can pull them back for more practice.

If you fail in the formal assessment, your name and score will be clearly written on the score sheet.

The class monitors couldn't pretend it never happened!

Chen Gang continued, "During the assessment, if the movements are not up to standard or the discipline is violated, not only will the individual's score be deducted, but the entire class's conduct score will also be deducted."

Wei Shanjia was just about to turn around and say a few words to Ga Wa.

Upon hearing this, he swallowed back the words that were already on the tip of his tongue.

The little boy sighed softly:

"Friend, you've finally learned to control your mouth this time."

Wei Shanjia's face twitched; he almost violated discipline on the spot because of that one sentence.

The first assessment started with housekeeping and hygiene.

All new recruits assembled downstairs at the dormitory building, and the assessment team entered the dormitory one by one in order of class for inspection.

The inspection covers not only blankets, but also sheets, pillows, shoes, washbasins, towels, kettles, closets, and other hard-to-reach areas such as under beds, behind doors, and windowsills.

Most importantly, it's not just about checking individuals, but also about ensuring that the entire class's belongings are kept in uniform.

Just as the assessment team was about to go upstairs, Cao Jianfeng, the class monitor of Class One, walked up to Gao Zhenhai.

In the past month, Class Two has really made a lot of noise.

Shen Yan and Ga Wa's acts of bravery have almost certainly earned them two second-class merit awards.

Gao Zhenhai also took promotional photos and made an appearance in front of the whole group.

Cao Jianfeng had been holding back his anger, but he hadn't found an opportunity to vent it.

Now that the first formal assessment has finally begun, he feels that he has finally had a fair chance to compete!

"Old Gao, outside credit is credit, but today's test is about real training results."

"The cleanliness of the dormitories is a matter for the whole class, not just something that Shen Yan can do to make sure the entire Class Two is organized!"

Gao Zhenhai turned and glanced at him, his expression perfectly calm.

"you're right."

Just as Cao Jianfeng was about to smile, Gao Zhenhai continued:

"So if you lose later, don't say that our Class Two only relied on Shen Yan."

Cao Jianfeng's smile froze on his face.

Both of them were very polite to each other on the surface, but in their hearts they had already begun to calculate how many blankets in the other's class would be penalized.

After the assessment team entered the dormitory of Class Two, Wei Shanjia stood downstairs, looking noticeably more nervous than the others.

His housekeeping skills have indeed improved significantly in the past month.

At least from the outside, his blanket was now angular and not at all like the wad of cotton that had been run over by a truck when he first enlisted.

But he knew very well that there was something wrong with the quilt.

The outer ridges are mainly shaped by punching, kneeing, and body weight.

As for whether the internal structure is truly solid, that's up to fate.

Wei Shanjia lowered his voice and asked Shen Yan, "Will the inspectors take the blankets apart?"

Shen Yan replied, "Normally not."

Just as Wei Shanjia breathed a sigh of relief, Shen Yan added, "But it might be possible to press..."

Wei Shanjia's expression froze instantly.

Ga Wa, standing to the side, couldn't help but add:

"Friend, your blanket looks like tofu on the outside, but it might be tofu pudding on the inside."

Wei Shanjia gritted his teeth and said, "Can you shut up?"

Upstairs, the assessment officers have already begun inspecting the dormitory of Class Two.

Overall, there are no major hygiene issues.

There were no extra clutter under the bed; shoes, washbasins, kettles, and towels were all arranged according to a uniform standard.

The windowsills, cabinet tops, and behind doors were also thoroughly cleaned.

When the inspection team arrived at Shen Yan's bedside, they paused noticeably.

The quilt has clean edges, the sheets are flat, and the pillows are the same as those on the other beds.

The items in the cabinet were arranged by category, and even the corners that are easily overlooked were free of dust.

The official in charge of the inspection reached out and pressed down on the corner of the blanket, then looked under the bed frame.

"Whose bed is this?"

Gao Zhenhai immediately replied, "Reporting, Shen Yan!"

The cadre nodded and wrote down the results on the record sheet.

Chen Gang stood outside the dormitory door and was not surprised to see this scene.

The inspectors continued walking and soon arrived at Wei Shanjia's bedside.

From the outside, this quilt is also quite square.

The cadre was initially somewhat satisfied, but then he reached out and gently pressed down on the middle of the blanket.

The blanket slowly sank in.

It took quite a while before it barely regained its shape.

The cadre was silent for a moment, then pressed the button again.

The result was still very soft.

"Whose bed is this?"

Gao Zhenhai's eyelid twitched.

"Reporting, Wei Shanjia!"

The cadre looked at the quilt and commented, trying to be as tactful as possible:

"The exterior design has improved significantly, but the internal foundation is not solid enough."

"In the future, don't just focus on making the surface square; you also need to make sure the inside is properly compacted."

Although Wei Shanjia downstairs couldn't hear the specific comments, he inexplicably felt a chill down his spine.

After the inspection team left, the assessment results and cadre evaluations were quickly relayed down.

After listening, Ga Wa looked at Wei Shanjia and carefully translated:

"Friend, the official has already put it very tactfully."

"What he meant was that your quilt looks acceptable, but its internal contents are suspected of deceiving the assessment team."

The students in Class Two almost burst out laughing.

Wei Shanjia, however, was very dissatisfied.

"How can this be called deception?"

"The outside is tofu, and the inside is tofu pudding. Aren't they both soy products?"

Gao Zhenhai stood to the side, his eyelids twitching as he listened.

He has decided to arrange a special intensive course on bean product housekeeping for Wei Shanjia after the assessment is over!

After all classes finished their checks, the results were quickly compiled.

Shen Yan achieved a near-perfect score, ranking first in individual housekeeping.

Although the second class lost points because of some details involving Wei Shanjia and two other new recruits.

However, the overall uniformity, hygiene standards, and item placement were still the best among all classes, ultimately earning them first place in the dormitory affairs team category.

Gao Zhenhai maintained a serious demeanor on the surface, but inwardly he was overjoyed.

Although Class 2 still has its imperfections, it is still too perfect compared to other classes!

Cao Jianfeng's smile visibly faded.

He originally thought that only Shen Yan was strong in Class 2, and that the overall level of Class 2 was definitely not as good as Class 1.

As soon as the first assessment ended, Class 2 took home both the individual first place and the team first place!

As the results were announced, a system notification also sounded in Shen Yan's mind.

[The host has achieved first place in the first phase assessment of basic training, specifically in housekeeping and hygiene.]

The host's understanding of resource classification, zoning, and hygiene standards has improved.

[The dual cultivation of medicine and martial arts has been launched to provide a feedback mechanism.]

[Gained knowledge of infection control and contaminated area delineation at primary healthcare facilities.]

[Obtained: Inventory of first aid equipment, classification of disinfected items, and management standards for sterile areas.]

A wealth of knowledge quickly entered Shen Yan's mind.

How are clean zones, semi-contaminated zones, and contaminated zones divided?

How should emergency supplies be arranged according to their urgency and frequency of use? How can equipment, medicines, and disinfectants be kept separate? And how should used equipment be recycled and disposed of?

This knowledge may seem to have nothing to do with folding blankets, but the underlying logic is very similar.

All items must be located in their designated places and returned to their original places after use.

When you really need it, you must be able to find it immediately.

If a medic doesn't even know where the tourniquet and first aid kit are on the battlefield, it's not just a matter of losing a performance evaluation score, but it could cost a wounded soldier their life.

Shen Yan couldn't help but sigh inwardly.

If someone else folds their blankets first, they might at most receive a word of praise from the cadre.

He got first place in folding his own blankets, and the system is already preparing to let him manage the field hospital!

After the internal affairs assessment, all the new recruits returned to the drill ground.

Preparing for the second section of the regulations and ordinances assessment!
