The hospital is too busy, so I'm going to join the army and become a top soldier!

"You're a total cheater!"

Listening to Wei Shanjia's roar.

Shen Yan stood beside the finish line, also panting heavily.

8 minutes and 32.5 seconds!

This is his best time to run 3,000 meters so far.

In the last 200 meters, if it weren't for the weighted running he had previously trained him to maintain control of his stride frequency even when fatigued, he would have been in trouble.

He might not even be able to catch up with Wei Shanjia!

All I can say is that Wei Shanjia, a national first-class athlete, is truly something!

But compared to myself, who has cheated, I'm still a bit lacking!

"You're fast too."

Shen Yan said seriously, "I almost failed to catch up."

Wei Shanjia felt even more distressed after hearing this.

What does it mean to almost catch up?

Didn't we still catch up?

And after catching up with him, I even overtook him!

Ga Wa finally ran to the finish line from the back.

He braced himself on his knees with both hands, panting heavily for a long time before he could barely lift his head.

"Friend, you're already amazing!"

Wei Shanjia looked at Ga Wa and felt a little better.

Although this guy usually says things that are annoying, he still knows how to comfort his comrades when it really matters.

The next second, Ga Wa continued:

"It's not particularly shameful for a top-level athlete to lose to a medical student by only 0.5 seconds!"

Wei Shanjia's face turned green.

"Shepherd, if you can't comfort people, you don't have to!"

What does it mean to only lose to those who study medicine?

The problem lies with this medical student!

How could a freshman at Fu-Da University School of Medicine run 3,000 meters in 8 minutes and 32.5 seconds?

Moreover, the reason Shen Yan gave was even more infuriating.

I've been doing a lot of weighted running.

Once you unload the weight, your body feels lighter.

So, Wei Shanjia has been training in middle and long-distance running for so many years, but he can't compare to Shen Yan carrying dozens of kilograms on the track every day?

Is there any justice in this world?

The 3,000-meter test for other groups is still ongoing.

Shen Yan, Wei Shanjia, and Ga Wa left the finish line area, walking slowly and adjusting their breathing.

The three men walked along, observing the new recruits as they were being assessed.

Wei Shanjia remained silent for a long time, then suddenly asked:

"Shen Yan, will you be able to run this fast in the 3000 meters next time?"

Shen Yan thought about it seriously.

"If we continue training, it should be even faster than this time."

Wei Shanjia paused in his tracks.

He asked that one question unnecessarily!

She had initially tried to comfort herself, thinking that Shen Yan had simply performed exceptionally well this time.

As a result, they've already started thinking about how to improve even further next time!

Ga Wa overheard their conversation and asked curiously:

"Friend, are you planning to win it back next time?"

Wei Shanjia continued walking forward.

"Of course!"

"I only lost by 0.5 seconds this time. Next time, if I'm just a little faster, I can overtake him!"

Ga Wa nodded.

"But friend, Shen Yan will be even faster next time."

Wei Shanjia: "My dear Adasi, could you please stop talking?"

"My fists are itching to come in right now!"

……

After all the new recruits finished their physical fitness tests, the assessment team began to compile individual and class scores.

The entire playground gradually quieted down.

The new recruits stood in their ranks, but their eyes kept drifting toward the assessment team.

The first phase assessment is not just about individual performance.

It also relates to the training results of each class over the past month!

Class 2 won first place in both the housekeeping team and the drill team competition this morning.

Regulations and ordinances rank second.

In the afternoon's physical fitness events, Shen Yan and Wei Shanjia almost swept all the top positions.

Ga Wa also performed exceptionally well.

Although he did not compete with Shen Yan and Wei Shanjia for first place in the 3,000-meter race, his final result still ranked among the top in the recruit company.

Gao Zhenhai stood next to the second class, maintaining a calm demeanor on the surface.

But his gaze had already drifted toward the assessment team countless times.

Liang Zheng noticed his movement and lowered his voice to say:

"Old Gao, are you nervous?"

"Why would I be nervous?"

Gao Zhenhai remained unfazed.

"All the exams that were supposed to be taken have been taken, and the results are right there."

Liang Zheng nodded.

"Then why are you checking the assessment team seven or eight times a minute?"

Gao Zhenhai turned and glanced at him.

"My eyes are on my own face, I can look wherever I want."

Liang Zheng suppressed a laugh and didn't expose him further.

This guy was clearly so nervous that he wanted to go over and help calculate the scores himself, but he pretended to be completely indifferent!

Beside the first group, Cao Jianfeng was also staring at the assessment team.

Class 1 performed quite well overall this time.

Ordinances and regulations are the first category of groups.

Although Class 2 suppressed Class 2 in both housekeeping and drill competition, their scores were still among the top.

The problem lies in the physical fitness program!

Class Two has two freaks, Shen Yan and Wei Shanjia.

There's also a little boy who grew up herding sheep in the pastoral area and has good endurance and coordination.

The three of them single-handedly raised the total physical fitness score of Class Two!

Cao Jianfeng now only hopes that Class 1 can rely on overall stability to narrow the gap between the two sides as much as possible.

Not long after, the assessment team completed the summary of the results.

The cadre in charge of the assessment walked to the front of the group with the score sheet in hand.

"The rankings of the classes in the first phase of the recruit training are now announced!"

Everyone immediately straightened up.

"First place, recruits in platoon two!"

Upon hearing the results, the new recruits in the second squad's eyes lit up instantly!

Some people almost cheered out loud.

Fortunately, Gao Zhenhai turned his head in time and suppressed his voice with his eyes.

It's still in the queue!

While we're happy, we can't let our guard down!

"Second place, recruit platoon one!"

"Third place, recruit platoon three!"

Further results will be announced later.

Gao Zhenhai, however, had no interest in listening.

the first!

Class Two won first place in the first phase assessment!

This is not Shen Yan's personal achievement alone.

It was the entire Class Two who won it together!

A month ago, when these new recruits first arrived at the unit, even getting up and assembling was a chaotic mess.

Now, a month later, they have been able to outperform other classes in the comprehensive assessment of housekeeping, regulations, drills, and physical fitness!

Gao Zhenhai was overjoyed.

But when he turned around and looked at the new recruits in the second squad, the smile on his face immediately disappeared.

"It's just the first assessment."

"You're all this happy about getting first place?"

"The training ahead is long, and this is just a small assessment!"

"Anyone who dares to be arrogant because of this result, I guarantee they'll have a very fulfilling day until the next big assessment!"

The second platoon of new recruits answered in unison:

"yes!"

Gao Zhenhai nodded in satisfaction.

Then he turned around, and the corners of his mouth involuntarily curled upwards again.

Gawa saw this scene clearly.

He lowered his voice and said:

"Friend, Lao Gao's smile is practically drooping to his ears, but he's pretending he's not happy at all."

Wei Shanjia whispered a reminder:

You'd better not say anything.

"He may be in a good mood today, but that doesn't mean he won't punish you."

Ga Wa thought it made a lot of sense and immediately shut his mouth.

Cao Jianfeng stood next to Class One, looking at Gao Zhenhai's expression of wanting to laugh but forcibly holding it back, and felt a lump in his throat.

He originally intended to say that the first stage assessment doesn't prove anything.

The next class will definitely be able to catch up.

But after thinking it over carefully, he finally gave up.

Going back now is not about saving face for yourself.

It was an initiative to provide Gao Zhenhai with an opportunity to showcase his abilities!

This guy said the first assessment wasn't important.

If anyone were to question the top student in Class Two, he would definitely stick the report card in their face on the spot!

The class rankings have been released; next up are the individual overall scores.

This time, the result was also not much of a surprise.

"First place in the first phase assessment of basic training!"

"Class Two, Shen Yan!"

All the new recruits instinctively looked towards the second squad.

It's Shen Yan again!

Personal hygiene comes first.

Regulations and rules prioritize the individual.

His basic physical fitness even surpassed that of national first-class athlete Wei Shanjia, and he ran 3,000 meters in 8 minutes and 32.5 seconds!

This team is number one overall, and no one else can even find a reason to disagree!

"Second place in overall individual performance, Class 2, Wei Shanjia!"

Upon hearing his name called, Wei Shanjia straightened up and answered loudly.

Although he was ranked behind Shen Yan again, he had begun to gradually accept reality.

no way.

Those who cheat are not normal people!

It's somewhat unfair to compare myself to Shen Yan.

As long as no one mentions his 8 minutes and 32.5 seconds in front of him anymore, his mental state is relatively stable for the time being.

"Third place in overall individual performance, Class 2, Little Kid!"

……

After the results were announced, a system notification sounded in Shen Yan's mind.

[The host has achieved first place overall in the first phase assessment of the recruit training camp.]

The host demonstrates excellent performance in internal affairs management, regulations, teamwork, and basic physical fitness.

[Period-based comprehensive performance evaluation rewards will be distributed.]

[Achieved: Limb replantation surgery!]

[Current skill level: Master!]

Shen Yan's breath hitched slightly.

Limb replantation surgery?

And directly reach the master level?

This time, the reward is no longer a simple entry-level or minor achievement.

Rather, it is the pinnacle of a complete technique!

A wealth of knowledge, judgment, and simulated surgical experience quickly flooded into Shen Yan's mind.

How do we assess the replantation value of limbs that are completely or partially severed?

The duration of ischemia, the location of transection, the extent of tissue damage, the degree of contamination, and the patient's overall condition all directly influence the final decision.

How to preserve severed limbs, how to clean wounds, and how to repair bones, tendons, blood vessels, and nerves.

After blood flow is restored, how should we observe the color, temperature, capillary response, and blood circulation of the replanted limb?

Postoperative complications such as vascular crisis, infection, thrombosis, tissue necrosis, and compartment syndrome also require constant vigilance!

A complete system for limb replantation was quickly integrated with Shen Yan's existing knowledge of anatomy, diagnosis, trauma emergency care, and bone setting.

It was as if countless real surgical experiences flooded his mind!

Different transection locations, different wound conditions, and different vascular and nerve damage.

As long as the surgical conditions are met, he can quickly formulate the most suitable replantation plan!

Shen Yan was deeply shocked.

Limb replantation is no simple procedure!

This involves multiple fields such as orthopedics, microsurgery, vascular anastomosis, nerve repair, and postoperative rehabilitation.

Even Shen Yan in his previous life wouldn't dare say that his limb replantation skills had reached the master level!

The reward given by the system this time is enough for him to gain a foothold in the top microsurgery center in the country!

Of course, mastering the technique doesn't mean he can perform surgery anywhere out of thin air.

Limb replantation requires microsurgical equipment, specialized instruments, a surgical team, and comprehensive postoperative care.

Making him squat alone by the training field, using needle and thread to reattach a severed arm, is not a master-level surgery.

That's more like Xu Dashao sewing pig's trotters!

……

After the individual and class scores were announced, all the new recruits thought that today's assessment was completely over.

Chen Gang did not announce the disbandment.

Instead, it allowed each class to reorganize their ranks.

Not long after, the regimental commander and political commissar arrived at the main parade ground.

Several officers from the regimental headquarters followed behind the two.

One of the officials was holding a commendation order, a certificate, and several red boxes.

Seeing this display of force, the expressions of the class monitors instantly turned serious.

The new recruits also realized that what was about to be announced was not simple!

The team leader walked to the front of the group and first summarized the first phase of the assessment.

He affirmed the team's first-place finish achieved by Class Two and also praised the training results of the other classes over the past month.

After finishing the assessment, the team leader did not immediately end his speech.

"Besides announcing the results of the first phase assessment today, there's another important matter!"

"A while ago, two new recruits from our regiment were attacked by knife-wielding assailants while on leave!"

"Faced with danger, the two comrades neither retreated nor acted rashly!"

"They immediately called the police, evacuated the crowd, and used their own strength to restrain the criminals, successfully protecting many people and assisting the police in apprehending the suspects!"

Upon hearing this, everyone in Class Two instinctively looked at Shen Yan and Ga Wa.

The other recruits also quickly realized what was happening.

Previously, they had only heard that Shen Yan and Ga Wa had gone on leave and that the public security authorities had contacted the military after they returned.

As for the specifics, many people are unaware of them.

The officers from the regimental headquarters stepped forward and unfurled the commendation order.

"Approved by the division headquarters!"

"Comrade Shen Yan is hereby awarded a Second-Class Merit!"

"Comrade Gawa is hereby awarded a second-class merit!"

The entire playground fell silent instantly!

Individual Second-Class Merit!

And there were two at once!

All the new recruits looked at Shen Yan and Ga Wa with envy in their eyes.

They've only been in the army for a month!

The others are still working hard to avoid losing a single point in housekeeping or to pass the 3,000-meter race.

Shen Yan and Ga Wa have actually received second-class merit awards?

This world is just too unfair, isn't it?

……

"Shen Yan!"

"arrive!"

"Little boy!"

"arrive!"

"Step forward!"

The two people ran to the front of the platform and stood at attention.

The regimental commander and political commissar presented the two men with certificates and second-class merit medals, respectively.

When Ga Wa received the certificate, he was still a little dazed.

He knew he might be able to make a contribution this time.

But when he actually held the Second-Class Merit Medal in his hands, he still felt it was somewhat unreal.

He received a second-class merit award after only one month of enlistment?

When Ada finds out about this, won't he call everyone in the village to his house?

They might even drag the sheep out of the house to join the celebration!

The troupe leader grasped Ga Wa's hand.

"Comrade Ga Wa, you successfully disarmed the criminals and protected the people by using your stone-throwing skills, which you honed since childhood. You did a great job!"

"But remember, you are a soldier."

"If you encounter a similar situation again, while being brave, you must remain calm and not recklessly risk your life!"

The little boy saluted with immense excitement:

"yes!"

The regimental commander then came up to Shen Yan, looked at him, and said with a smile.

"Comrade Xiao Shen, you made accurate judgments and handled the situation calmly. You not only saved a child, but also helped to subdue the criminal suspect."

"Well done!"

Shen Yan immediately stood at attention and saluted:

"It's what I should do!"

The new recruits below the stage looked at the second-class merit medals on the two men's chests with envy that almost made their eyes red.

They were both new recruits.

How can the difference be so big?
