The hospital is too busy, so I'm going to join the army and become a top soldier!

After all the assessments were completed, all the new recruits reassembled on the parade ground.

The cadres who had been gathered around the different assessment sites all returned to the vicinity of the podium.

It will take some time to compile the results.

The atmosphere on the playground did not relax; instead, it became even more tense.

The new recruits in the second platoon stood ramrod straight, but their eyes couldn't help but drift toward the assessment team.

They probably all have a good idea of how well they've performed individually.

But the class rankings haven't come out yet!

The graduation assessment in basic training is not just about one person.

If a few students in a class get zero points or make serious mistakes on key projects, it will be disastrous.

Even if the students at the top of the class have high scores, they may not be able to raise the overall class score.

Gao Zhenhai stood at the front of the line, his expression appearing relatively calm.

But his two hands, which were behind his back, had been clasped together several times.

Cao Jianfeng, the class monitor of the class next to him, glanced at him and couldn't help but lower his voice and say:

Stop pretending.

"You're practically smirking!"

Gao Zhenhai kept his eyes straight ahead.

"The results haven't been announced yet, what's there for me to be so upset about?"

"You'd better be."

Cao Jianfeng sneered, "Don't say the wind was too strong and blinding you when Class Two doesn't get first place later."

"You should worry about your class first!"

Gao Zhenhai replied casually, "Don't let us pull too far ahead. Second place should at least act like second place."

Cao Jianfeng's face darkened upon hearing this.

The results aren't out yet!

Has this guy already relegated their class to second place?

So what if your class has three perfect scores? What's so great about that?

Just as the class monitors were secretly competing, the person in charge of the assessment team finally came out with the summary table.

The playground quickly fell silent.

"All components of this recruit graduation assessment have been completed!"

"Now, let's announce the individual overall rankings!"

In the group, Wei Shanjia subconsciously straightened his back.

He achieved full marks in all scoring categories this time!

Although Shen Yan outperformed him in some areas, both of their papers were perfect, so it's really hard to say who would be ranked first.

What if the assessment team only considers the score and doesn't look at the original results?

Then he and Shen Yan can at most be considered tied for first place!

Just as a glimmer of hope appeared in Wei Shanjia's heart, the voice from ahead rang out again.

"Those who achieve the same raw score in this assessment will be ranked according to their original scores in each subject, the margin of error exceeding the full score, and any record-breaking achievements!"

The hope on Wei Shanjia's face vanished instantly.

Good guy.

The rules specifically blocked his last path to a mental victory and a tie for first place!

Ga Wa, standing beside him, noticed the change in his expression and whispered words of comfort:

"Hey friend, don't be sad."

"They're not targeting you personally; they're just worried that if cheaters mix with us regular perfect scorers, the individual performance differences won't be apparent!"

Wei Shanjia's eye twitched twice.

"You used to always compare people to sheep, why are you so interested in performance now?"

"Hehe, cell phones are so much fun!"

The head of the assessment team did not give the two a chance to continue their conversation, and looked down at the score sheet.

"Third place in overall individual performance, Class 2, Little Kid!"

"Full marks in all scoring subjects!"

An uncontrollable gasp erupted from the group.

Full marks!

Only ranked third?

Ga Wa was stunned for a moment, then his eyes suddenly lit up.

Before enlisting, he had never received professional military training, and he had never even seen many of the assessment items.

As a result, after a few months, he actually went from being a shepherd boy in a pastoral area to ranking third in the entire recruit company!

If you told Ada at home, Ada would be overjoyed!

"Sigh, we're going to lose another sheep!"

……

"Second place, Class Two, Wei Shanjia!"

"Full marks in all scoring subjects!"

Wei Shanjia pursed his lips tightly, but in the end, he couldn't help but raise the corners of his mouth.

Fine, second place it is!

We don't compare ourselves to cheaters!

Among the hundreds of recruits, he managed to get second place overall, and all of his items were perfect scores.

This proves that his training over the past few months was not in vain!

This will also give my father some closure!

"First place, Class 2, Shen Yan!"

"Perfect scores in all scoring events, 9 minutes and 11 seconds in the 3000 meters, breaking the entire division's new recruit record!"

"First place in overall individual performance!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the entire Class Two erupted in cheers!

Shen Yan is number one!

Wei Shanjia is second!

The little one is third!

The three guys from Class Two swept the top three spots in the new recruit graduation assessment!

Although the officers of the company had already guessed the result, their eyes still burned even brighter when they heard the rankings.

Especially Shen Yan.

First place in the 3000-meter dash, serpentine run, shooting, and basic tactical maneuvers; also achieved full marks in other scoring events!

This is no longer about having a single outstanding talent.

It truly has no weaknesses!

At the same time, a familiar system notification rang in Shen Yan's mind.

[Congratulations, host, on completing the new recruit graduation assessment!]

[The host has achieved the highest overall score among this year's recruits!]

[The host has demonstrated excellent performance in physical fitness, shooting, tactics, drills, and basic military subjects, and has successfully integrated existing military training results into the system!]

[Experiences in disaster area medical rescue, patient transfer in complex environments, and emergency response are summarized simultaneously.]

[Reward: First aid capabilities in all battlefield environments are upgraded to perfect!]

The moment the system indicated the end, a wealth of knowledge and experience flooded into Shen Yan's mind.

High-temperature deserts, frigid snowfields, high-altitude mountains, jungles and waterways, ruins, and under constant threat of fire...

The order of assessment for different injuries, on-site treatment, and transfer plans quickly became clear.

Although Shen Yan had previously mastered a lot of battlefield first aid knowledge and accumulated more than a month of real rescue experience in the disaster area.

But these abilities are more like scattered pieces of a puzzle.

Now, the system has completely pieced all the puzzle pieces together!

Shen Yan felt the new knowledge in his mind, and his eyes lit up slightly.

My battlefield healing ability has finally reached the perfect level!

"Shen Yan".

Wei Shanjia's hushed voice came from the side, "You got first place, can't you be a little more excited?"

"You stood there so calmly, as if I, the second-place winner, had never seen anything like this before!"

Shen Yan: "..."

……

After the individual scores are announced, the class rankings will follow.

Upon hearing the head of the assessment team pick up the list again, Gao Zhenhai's smile quickly vanished, but he unconsciously straightened his posture even more.

The top three students were all in his class, and they all got full marks!

This is undoubtedly a huge advantage!

However, the class ranking is based on the whole class. If anyone else drags the class down, Class Two may still lose first place.

"The student who achieved the highest overall score in this final assessment is..."

The head of the assessment team paused deliberately.

"Class Two!"

"All recruits in Platoon 2 passed all assessment items; their overall performance is excellent!"

Gao Zhenhai's lips instantly curled into a smile!

This time, he truly couldn't hold back anymore.

The top three prizes are all yours!

First in the class overall!

Moreover, no one in Class 2 got a zero, and no one messed up on the key projects!

He had led more than one class of new recruits, but this was the first time he had led a class so smoothly, achieved such good results, and had such strong cohesion!

The squad leaders next to Gao Zhenhai looked at him with undisguised envy in their eyes.

Especially Cao Jianfeng.

Class 1 came in second place.

Their results were actually quite good; in previous years, they might even have had a chance to compete for first place.

Unfortunately, there was a student from Class 2 sitting next to me this year!

Not only did they occupy all three of the top spots individually, but they also significantly boosted the class's overall score!

The more Cao Jianfeng looked at Gao Zhenhai's smiling face, the more uncomfortable he felt.

"Alright, that's enough."

"His mouth was practically stretched to his ears; anyone who didn't know better would think he'd won three first places!"

This time, Gao Zhenhai didn't even bother to pretend anymore.

"Old Cao, although I'm not capable of winning three first places."

"But the soldiers I led took them!"

"I'm even happier this way than if I took it myself!"

Cao Jianfeng's face darkened even more.

Murder and kill!

This guy is definitely rubbing salt into his wounds on purpose!

After laughing, Gao Zhenhai quickly turned back to look at the second class's team.

Shen Yan and his two companions have indeed raised the bar for Class Two to a very high level.

But the team's first place is never something that can be achieved by just three people.

However, what if Shen Yan didn't take the lead in opening the book?

Making these greenhorns train against each other every day, it won't be easy for the second squad to achieve such good results!

Gao Zhenhai couldn't help but sigh when he thought about this.

"Having a test-taking genius in the class is really great!"

……

After the results were announced, the training staff officers and selection instructors from the military region's special forces did not stay long.

The two stood by the playground and flipped through the list in their hands again.

The training staff officer couldn't help but chuckle as he looked at the heavily circled name next to Shen Yan's.

"Han Feng has a really good eye."

"I heard him say before that Shen Yan was a good prospect, but his standards were too high. I didn't pay much attention to it at the time."

"Now it seems, it really is not simple!"

"No wonder he's so determined to fly to the sky!"

The selection instructor next to him nodded.

They've seen plenty of people with good physical fitness.

But a multi-talented person like Shen Yan is definitely worth keeping a close eye on!

"The other two perfect scorers, Wei Shanjia and Ga Wa, are also quite good."

"Let them keep training. Maybe when the special forces are being selected, we'll see all three of them pass the test together!"

……

The two special forces officers did not only focus on Shen Yan and his two companions.

After noting down the names of several outstanding recruits from other platoons, he greeted the regimental commander, got into the car, and left.

This was just a preliminary inspection.

The real selection for special forces depends on the performance of these new recruits after they are assigned to their units!

But as soon as they left, the atmosphere by the playground changed instantly.

The company commanders, who had just been barely maintaining their composure, almost simultaneously surrounded the regimental commander and the assessment team.

The recruit assessment has ended.

Next, it's time to poach talent!

"Shen Yan achieved a perfect score in shooting, was first in tactical maneuvers, and has excellent body coordination and route judgment. He's a perfect fit for our guard company!"

"That kid, Ga Wa, is pretty clever; he should come to the guard company too!"

"With Wei Shanjia's strong physical foundation, he'll perform just as well in our guard company!"

"Get out of my way! Just take everyone away!"

Shen Yan broke all our communications company records in standing, kneeling, and prone grenade throwing, which shows that he and our communications company are destined for each other!

No sooner had He Zhiyuan finished speaking than Chen Gang stepped forward with a dark expression.

"What do you mean by fate?"

"He went to your communications company once and broke all three of your records. This only proves that your original records weren't good enough!"

He Zhiyuan's eyes widened.

"Chen Gang, can't you speak properly?"

"I'm stating the facts!"

"Besides, Shen Yan, Wei Shanjia, and Ga Wa are all people our elite unit needs!"

Upon hearing this, several company officers nearby immediately objected.

"On what grounds?"

"Even if your elite unit has priority in selecting soldiers, you can't possibly sweep all the top three spots, can you?"

"That's not called 'cherry-picking,' that's cutting off the very tip, leaving nothing for anyone else!"

Chen Gang crossed his arms and refused to budge an inch.

"Shen Yan's goal is to join the special forces, so he's best suited for the elite detachment."

"Wei Shanjia has outstanding physical qualities and is suitable for the high-intensity training of the elite company."

"Gawa's stamina, sense of direction, and ability to adapt to the wild can also be utilized in the elite unit."

"Moreover, the three of them have been training together for the past few months, so they are familiar with each other and can compete with each other."

Why take them apart? Put them together and charge upwards, wouldn't that bring glory to our group?

The others wanted to argue further, but the group leader was already getting a headache from listening.

"Alright!"

"The elite platoon can prioritize selecting promising recruits, but they can't take all the best new hires!"

"For the other outstanding performers, each company will coordinate according to their needs."

Although Chen Gang was reluctant, he eventually gave up several other recruits that he had previously selected.

But when it came to Shen Yan and the other two, he didn't back down an inch!

If you want other outstanding recruits, we can discuss it.

These three won't do!

The regimental commander glanced at Chen Gang, then at the several company officers who were still dissatisfied, and finally did not announce the assignment results on the spot, but only told them to go back and continue to discuss.

But everyone can see it.

In order to keep these three men in the elite unit, Chen Gang is prepared to fight to the death with the other units!

Zheng Guoliang stood next to the medical support point, unusually refraining from rushing into the crowd to argue with Chen Gang.

He looked at Shen Yan's report card in his hand and sighed helplessly.

He originally thought that Shen Yan had been away from the recruit training camp for more than a month and had focused his main energy on medical relief in the disaster area.

Military training results will be affected to some extent.

The results of it?

This kid came back and got first place overall!

Physical fitness is the most important, shooting is the most important, and tactics are still the most important!

Furthermore, Shen Yan has always wanted to join the special forces and formally enlist in the medical unit, but that opportunity probably is truly gone.

However, Zheng Guoliang has not completely given up hope.

Even after joining the elite unit, Shen Yan could still come to the medical unit to give lectures during his rest time, and he could also be asked to participate in special cases.

Unfortunately, it's probably unrealistic to expect to take Shen Yan on as an apprentice and train him as a professional military doctor.

Thinking of this, Zheng Guoliang suddenly narrowed his eyes.

Even if people can't join the medical unit, medicine can't be neglected, right?

Shen Yan has already demonstrated his clinical skills in the disaster area, and his theoretical foundation is also ridiculously solid.

What's lacking now is further education and a legal and complete professional qualification.

Otherwise, we could try to get him to continue his medical studies and plan for the medical licensing exam for him.

Even if I end up in the special forces, I can still be a doctor!

If we can't get the person, then let's figure out a way to get him to get his medical license first!

It would be such a waste to let Shen Yan, with such great medical talent, go to waste!

……

Back in the dormitory, Class Two was unusually quiet, unlike usual.

Looking at the familiar beds, tables, and cabinets, everyone felt a mix of emotions.

The completion of the recruit training camp assessment means that the three-month recruit training phase is also coming to an end.

Next came the conferment of ranks, assignments, and deployment to units.

Comrades who had been scolded together, trained together, and even fought over instant noodles in the same dormitory were about to be assigned to different units.

During training, everyone felt that the days in recruit company went by too slowly.

But now that they're really going to part ways, everyone is actually hoping that the next few days will pass more slowly.

Wei Shanjia couldn't stand this kind of atmosphere.

He glanced around, then squatted down and pulled out three buckets of instant noodles, two packets of spicy strips, and a bag of chicken feet from the very back of the cabinet.

"What are you all standing there for?"

"Let's have a get-together before heading to our units!"

"Today isn't to celebrate my second-place finish, it's mainly to celebrate that some cheater is finally going to wreak havoc on the regular company!"

Shen Yan glanced at him.

"Aren't you also very likely to be assigned to the same company as me?"

Wei Shanjia's smile froze on the spot.

Ga Wa immediately added insult to injury from the side.

"Hey friend, you're not sending away a plague god at all."

"Are you packing your bags, getting ready to move in with this plague?"

The dormitory was silent for a second, then everyone burst into laughter.

The somewhat somber atmosphere was quickly dispelled.

The other recruits also started rummaging through the cabinets.

Some people brought out beef jerky sent from home, while others contributed biscuits and candy that they couldn't bear to eat.

Some people even pulled out sunflower seeds, sausages, and several small bottles of sweetened water from under the bed.

There weren't many items, but they quickly filled the table.

The military prohibits eight plus one.

The group could only open the small bottle of sweet water and substitute the alcohol for the beverage.

"First, let's salute our Class Two for coming in first place!"

"And we also salute that none of us held anyone back!"

"No matter which company we're assigned to in the future, let's not let Second Platoon down!"

A group of people bumped into each other while holding plastic bottles.

There were no wine glasses, and no formal dishes.

Instant noodles, spicy strips, chicken feet, beef jerky, and a few bottles of cloyingly sweet drinks made up their first meal together before they went to their new post.

But everyone ate with great enjoyment!

Just as Wei Shanjia was about to open the fourth bucket of instant noodles, the dormitory door was suddenly pushed open.

Gao Zhenhai walked in from outside.

Upon seeing the table full of snacks, he paused, his expression quickly darkening.

"What are you doing?"

"Getting first place in the assessment gives you the nerve to throw a banquet in your dorm?"

Everyone immediately put down their things and stood still.

"Squad leader, there's no alcohol!"

"Only small amounts of sweet juice!"

Gao Zhenhai walked to the table and looked around.

Only after confirming that there were no prohibited items did the seriousness on his face finally disappear, and he could no longer hide the smile on his lips.

"Come, come, have a seat!"

"This isn't enough to eat! Here, the squad leader will give you some more!"

Gao Zhenhai smiled and carried two large bags of snacks over from the door!

He had just bought all these goods at the convenience store at his own expense, and he almost got arrested by the police on his way back!

Even after being arrested, Gao Zhenhai had no complaints!

Who can blame them when their recruits are so promising?

After all the snacks were distributed, Gao Zhenhai raised his hand to press them down.

"Alright, alright, calm down for a bit!"

"I have good news for you."

Everyone looked up.

"Wait a minute, the whole class will go and collect their winter uniforms."

"After receiving the winter uniforms, we checked the sizes, tidied up the uniforms, and put everything away as required."

Wei Shanjia was still wondering why they suddenly needed to get winter clothes when Gao Zhenhai's next sentence had already been uttered.

"After receiving your uniforms, tomorrow is your commissioning ceremony!"

The dormitory fell silent instantly!

The next second, all the new recruits looked up at the same time, their eyes lighting up!

Conferring of ranks!

From the moment they enlisted until now, they have trained, been scolded, and sweated every day, and finally this day has come!

Only with military ranks can they be considered true soldiers!

When Ga Wa heard the news that he was to be awarded a rank, he was so excited that he stood up!

"Hey friends, from now on we'll be carrying crutches too!"
