Reborn as the Candle Dragon, I became the strongest academy guardian beast.

(The author has seen dragons; this isn't just random writing!)

Ningchuan City, Great Xia Kingdom.

The playground of Qinglong Academy.

Tens of thousands of students gathered here, their faces filled with excitement, looking toward the Awakening Platform in the center of the playground.

Today is the day of Martial Soul Awakening.

From the podium, Principal Zheng Yuanshan's powerful voice rang out.

Three hundred years ago, all races descended upon the planet, turning Earth into a battlefield, where countless humans perished.

"The ancestors of the Great Xia Dynasty risked their lives to guard the nation's borders with their own flesh and blood, awakening their martial spirit in dire straits and embarking on the path of martial arts."

"Thus, the world entered the martial arts era."

"At today's awakening ceremony, I sincerely wish all students will achieve their wishes, awaken powerful martial spirits, and protect our Chinese land!"

Thunderous applause erupted from the audience.

Martial spirits are divided into nine levels from low to high: F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, and SSS.

The awakening that follows will directly determine a person's fate and future!

"I'm so nervous. I wonder what kind of martial soul I'll awaken."

"If I could awaken an S-rank martial soul, I'd be willing to live in a villa and drive luxury cars!"

"..."

Just then, Zheng Yuanshan suddenly changed the subject:

"Before the awakening ceremony begins, I'd like to share some good news with everyone."

"That is..."

"Azure Dragon Academy has finally found a new guardian beast!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a dark blue dagger appeared in Zheng Yuanshan's palm.

It was his martial spirit—the Space Dagger!

Zheng Yuanshan took a deep breath, gripped the dagger tightly, and slashed it sharply into the air in front of him.

A crack suddenly appeared in space!

A colossal figure slowly emerged from the deep crevice.

The first thing that catches the eye is a pair of cold, golden vertical pupils, followed by a massive body covered in jet-black scales.

It turned out to be a giant black snake that was over ten meters long!

The shadow cast by the snake's body covered half of the playground, and many people turned pale instantly. Several timid girls were so frightened that they almost cried on the spot.

"This is... a snake?"

"Aren't snakes native to Earth? Why would one be so large?"

"It...it won't think we're food, will it?"

"Probably not. Since it's willing to serve as a guardian beast, it means it shouldn't be hostile towards humans."

"Really?! Our Azure Dragon Academy is going to have a guardian beast too!"

"So what if we have them? Our school can't even compare to a hair on the head of White Tiger Academy anymore. The title of the Four Great Academies is just a name now. In this year's martial arts tournament, we are destined to be completely crushed by the other three academies..."

……

Su Chen's golden snake eyes surveyed the tiny figures on the playground, and he spoke in a voice only he could hear: "System, are the conditions met now?"

A crisp electronic sound quickly rang out.

[Ding, School Bound - Azure Dragon Academy]

[Conditions have been met]

[Congratulations, host! You have successfully activated the "Strongest Guardian Beast System in History"!]

Main Quest: Lead Azure Dragon Academy to become the strongest academy in the universe.

[Beginner's Task: Select a suitable investment target, whose qualifications should be at least excellent (green), the higher the better]

[Qualification Levels: Inferior (Gray), Common (White), Excellent (Green), Rare (Blue), Epic (Purple), Legendary (Orange), Mythical (Gold)]

Su Chen was originally a teacher in a remote mountainous area of Earth.

During a sudden earthquake, he used his body to shield the last few children who had not escaped the classroom from the rubble.

When Su Chen opened his eyes again, he found himself transported to this world.

The bad news is that he was reborn as a snake.

The good news is that it's not an ordinary snake.

Su Chen possesses a trace of the Candle Dragon bloodline.

Yes, it is the Zhulong from Chinese legends and mythology, whose open eyes bring day and closed eyes bring night!

Although the trace of bloodline in Su Chen's body was so weak that it was almost negligible, fortunately, he activated a system.

The system is called the Strongest Guardian Beast System. As long as he becomes the guardian beast of a school and leads the school to become stronger, he can receive rewards and evolve infinitely.

If he were to evolve into a Candle Dragon one day, perhaps he would be able to traverse the stars and return to Earth to reunite with his students!

Three days ago, Su Chen finally got his chance.

He rescued Zheng Yuanshan, who was seriously injured in a sneak attack by a ferocious beast, in the mountains, and at Zheng Yuanshan's request, he "reluctantly" became the guardian beast of Qinglong Academy.

[Ding! To help you find investment opportunities, the system will send you a newbie gift pack. Would you like to refuse it?]

"?"

Su Chen was taken aback.

What a clever system! If he hadn't been cautious by nature, he would have blurted out "yes!"

"Screw you, send it to me right now!"

[Ding! Congratulations, host! You have received the newbie gift pack - Demon God's Eye]

Countless strange runes appeared in Su Chen's snake eyes, rotating counterclockwise.

A panel appeared before his eyes.

Su Chen

[Length: 16 meters]

[Race: Black Serpent]

"Next, all we have to do is wait for the Martial Soul to awaken."

Su Chen looked towards the Awakening Platform and murmured to himself.

……

After introducing Su Chen, Zheng Yuanshan got to the point:

"Since the death of the last guardian beast, Azure Dragon Academy has not had a guardian beast for ten years."

"I believe that today will mark a new beginning for Azure Dragon Academy."

"The Martial Soul Awakening Ceremony now begins. Students whose names are called, please step onto the Awakening Platform to begin your awakening!"

The grade director took the microphone, and under her direction, each class lined up neatly in rows and walked onto the awakening platform in an orderly manner.

"Zhang Zhiwen, from Class One of Martial Arts, has awakened an A-level ferocious beast martial soul—[Prehistoric Crocodile]!"

"Yang Shulin from Martial Arts Class One has awakened a D-grade weapon spirit—[Embroidery Needle]!"

"Class 1, Martial Arts, Cai Xiaokun, awakens an E-rank Life-type Martial Soul—[Basketball]!"

Soon, hundreds of people had completed their awakening.

Some are happy, some are sad.

Su Chen remained unmoved, his snake-like eyes silently observing everything before him.

Of the many students who went up on stage, only three were qualified enough to barely meet the system's standards.

He silently memorized the names of several people.

As for whether to invest, that depends on whether we can find a more satisfactory partner in the future.

The head of the grade continued:

"Next up, Lin Fan from Martial Arts Class Two!"

Several whispers came from the crowd.

"It's such a pity about Brother Fan. If it weren't for that accident..."

"Why."
