About how my wife resurrected me as tentacles after my death.

By the time we returned to the Alliance capital, it was almost dawn.

Yu Wan contacted Lian Qi and went directly to the resource allocation center to help her replace her level 4 magic core.

Even Qi didn't ask anything.

After waiting for about ten minutes, she handed me a box.

Yu Wan opened the box and took a look.

A magic core the size of a fist lay quietly inside, its surface shimmering with a faint dark purple glow.

She closed the box and put it away.

As she walked out of the distribution center, she paused, took out her communicator, and sent a message to Lian Qi: Thank you.

Lian Qi replied instantly with three exclamation marks and "Of course, of course," and then a long string of messages came in.

The gist of it is that the shot she received today was too powerful, and she still hasn't recovered.

Yu Wan didn't look at it again, put the communicator back in her pocket, and walked towards home.

When I got home, I locked the door and went straight to the basement.

The altar in the basement is still the same as it was during the last ascension.

The bronze ritual vessels were arranged according to their orientation, bone fragments and jade rings were placed in their corresponding corners, and ancient books were spread out on the table at the edge of the altar.

Yu Wan took the level-four magic core out of the box and placed it in the groove in the center of the altar.

Then he turned around and held Chen Yuan in his hands.

She looked down at him for a while, gently rubbed his tentacle body with her fingers, and then placed him next to the magic core.

"Ah-Yuan, be a good girl..."

......

The same steps as last time.

She picked up the dagger from the edge of the altar and gently cut her left wrist.

The blade sliced through her skin, and blood seeped from the wound, flowing down her wrist into the blood groove.

The runes seemed to come alive, spreading along the patterns on the altar's surface towards the center.

When the light from the runes shone on the level-four magic core, the dark purple light on its surface suddenly brightened.

Yu Wan's face paled even more, and her long, silvery-white hair appeared particularly pale in the red light of the runes.

She bit her lip and waited until the blood in the blood tank was full before withdrawing her wrist.

Chen Yuan's body also began to feel hot.

This time it was much more intense than the last time.

The system panel popped up automatically.

[Conviction promotion ritual detected - Promotion begins]

[Believer Advancement: Rank 1 → Rank 2]

[Affiliation: Unnamed Great Old Ones]

[In progress with energy fusion - gained the promotion trait: Whisper]

[Whisper—Controlling Illusions, Invisible and Indescribable. It inflicts a mental erosion of illusions on the target, causing perceptual confusion and producing incomprehensible visual and auditory hallucinations.]

Then the panel refreshed with level information.

This believer promotion can directly jump more than two levels, from LV.9 to LV.11.

The basement has returned to quiet.

In the center of the altar, the level-four magic core had dimmed, its surface covered with fine cracks, and its energy had been completely drained.

It was already daylight.

A beam of pale golden morning light shone through the narrow window high up and fell onto the ground.

Yu Wan lifted him from the altar and held him in her hands.

This time, the disappointment in her eyes was impossible to hide...

She examined the little tentacles over and over again several times.

It's a size larger than before, and the dark gold pattern is denser.

Apart from that, it seems to still be that little purple tentacle.

I still can't speak... I can't become human.

I still can't hug her...

"Ah-Yuan...do you sense anything has changed...?"

Her voice was very soft, with a lingering tone at the end, as if she wanted to ask something, but swallowed it back halfway through.

Chen Yuan shook the tip of her finger in her palm.

I wanted to tell her that I did.

It has changed a lot; it can now mimic human forms.

But he's still in tentacle form, so all those words just came out as "plop plop".

Yu Wan watched him dart his fingertips, and the corners of her mouth curved slightly. Then that curve slowly faded.

"It's okay..."

"I can still find a level six magic core... to advance again... to find..."

She couldn't continue speaking halfway through her sentence, so she pressed Chen Yuan against her chest, hugged him, and walked out of the basement.

My eyes were already starting to redden.

Her voice was still steady when she said "It's okay", but she stopped halfway through saying "find" and fell silent.

Is there any other way...? She's been searching for five years.

She placed Chen Yuan beside her pillow, lay down, and pulled him into her arms while lying on her side.

"Going to sleep, I'm sleepy from the midnight mission..."

"I'm not that sad..."

Her voice grew softer and softer, and the last few words became indistinct.

.......

Chen Yuan was only thinking about leveling up as quickly as possible.

So once she fell asleep, I gently slid out of her arms.

He took a deep breath, opened the system panel, and first confirmed that he had been upgraded to LV.10.

Mimicry finally appeared in the LV.10 options.

Mimicry has two branches: [Lv.1 Time-Limited Mimicry] Each mimicry lasts for 30 minutes, during which you can freely switch back to tentacle form.

【Lv.1 Energy Mimicry】Consumes a large amount of energy to mimic, with no duration limit.

Energy is what we lack most right now.

He goes limp after just ten minutes each time; if he chooses the energy mimicry technique again, he'll never be able to recover.

I decisively chose the time-sensitive mimicry.

30 minutes is enough.

[Mimicry Level: Level 1 (Unlocked) - Next upgrade will extend the mimicry duration]

[Description: Finally, it's not a useless little tentacle anymore, but 30 minutes still doesn't seem enough; it still can't satisfy its master.]

The upgrade and enhancement options at LV.10 will present three options.

Option one was again covered in thorns, and the moment Tentacle Tip saw those four words, it immediately clicked skip.

Option 2: Strength increase +300%, maximum extension diameter increases proportionally.

Option 3: Enhanced regeneration, doubling the speed of limb regeneration, with minor wounds healing on their own.

He chose strength.

The enhancement options at LV.11 also increased strength.

One force can overcome all methods.

He now has a shadowy form, fused with black liquid, and whispers.

We already have enough fighting methods; what we lack is pure power.

However, he doesn't want to think about that right now; trying mimicry is more important.

The dark purple tentacles slowly turned into black liquid, then rose from the floor and gradually condensed into an outline.

Chen Yuan looked down at her hands.

Five fingers, clearly defined joints, and even the thin calluses on the palms from years of holding wrenches are still there.

real or fake?

He examined them over and over several times, bending each finger to make sure they were all working properly.

The body formed from the black liquid was still wearing the black coat he used to wear most often.

He raised his hand and touched his face; there was still a light stubble on his chin.

There were no difficulties as I had imagined, no details that I needed to deliberately recall; it just happened naturally.

It felt like he wasn't a tentacle that had transformed into him.

Rather, he was originally human; the tentacles were temporary, and he's just turning back now.

"This evil god is something else."
