"Is this what the polluted sea looks like?"

After collecting water samples from the stream, Yunyu followed Su Mo to the shore of the mudflats.

The sea breeze carried a strange smell, a mixture of fishy stench and pungent chemicals, as it swept in. Wave after wave of fine spray rolled onto the shore, and with each rise and fall of the tide, it brought up swarms of dead fish, their white bellies turned up.

Some of the small fish had swollen and white bodies, their scales had fallen off and stuck to the rocks, and even the fine sand on the beach was stained with a layer of grayish turbidity.

The dilapidated and desolate scene before her eyes left Yun Yu stunned, her heart heavy.

"Yes, it's just that one factory has been secretly discharging pollutants for a long time, and it has ruined the entire nearshore area into this state." Su Mo squatted by the reef, looking at the scene in front of her, her tone full of helplessness.

She wasn't an environmentalist, but witnessing the ocean being so recklessly destroyed and seeing the fishing villages that had relied on the sea for generations reduced to this state still made her heart ache.

She gestured for Yunyu to place her backpack on the flat rocks, then unzipped it, took out the sampling bottles from the contents, and squatted down to collect samples of the seawater.

While Su Mo was busy with her head down, Yun Yu finally had a chance to look up at the entire sea.

As dusk approached, the setting sun hung over the distant horizon, its orange-red afterglow spreading out, which should have dyed the sea a gentle, warm golden hue.

But the sea before my eyes was completely contrary to what should have been a beautiful sight...

The surface seawater was covered with a thin, hazy film. The sunset's glow fell on the murky water, fragmented by the thick impurities. The warm-toned halo on the gray-blue seawater appeared oppressive and eerie.

The once smooth and rounded rocks on the shore were now covered with a layer of sticky, blackish substance. The evening breeze carried an unpleasant odor, and even the sunset seemed to be shrouded in a hazy mist.

Just as Yun Yu was quietly gazing at the desolate seascape, the Sirius Star Chart hanging close to her neck suddenly became slightly warm and lit up with a faint silver-white soft light.

At the same instant, Yun Yu's eyes were once again filled with tiny, flowing starlight.

His gaze easily pierced through the murky surface of the seawater, looking directly into the dark depths of the ocean.

Under the normal setting sun, the underwater environment of the nearshore waters should be a warm yellow and translucent environment. However, in his special vision, the entire sea area was covered with a faint, eerie light green, as if it had been completely dyed with a poisonous dye.

Fortunately, the light green hue wasn't too thick, enough for him to clearly see the underwater outlines.

On the seabed, a gigantic silhouette of immense size lies silently in the silt, its body curled up, entangled with seaweed and abandoned fishing nets accumulated over the years, as if it has been dormant for a long time.

Just as Yun Yu was about to take a closer look at what this giant object was, a darker, almost emerald green color suddenly surged into the sea from beneath the surface.

The dark green color spread rapidly in the seawater. The small group of near-shore fish that had managed to survive immediately turned belly up upon contact with it and drifted aimlessly toward the shore with the ocean current.

Immediately afterwards, the thick, dark green torrent enveloped the giant figure slumbering in the silt, seeping into it through the cracks in its body.

Beneath the deep sea, a long-dormant entity is forcibly awakened.

Before Yun Yu could continue to focus on investigating the details, a violent underground tremor suddenly came from the mudflats beneath her feet.

The earth trembled slightly, and the reefs shook slightly as well. Yun Yu swayed and subconsciously staggered to steady himself. The starlight in his eyes was also forcibly interrupted by this sudden shock, and his X-ray vision disappeared abruptly.

On the other side, Su Mo, who had just finished filling the last bottle of seawater sample and was about to get up and pack up her equipment, was thrown off balance by the sudden tectonic shaking. Her body tilted sharply to one side, and she was about to fall heavily to the ground.

At the critical moment, Yun Yu quickly stepped forward, reached out and firmly grasped her wrist, pulling her back steadily.

With just the right amount of force, without pulling too hard, once Su Mo's feet were firmly planted on the ground, Yun Yu immediately released his grip, turned his gaze back to the coastline, and watched as a new wave swept up a large number of dead fish onto the beach. His face gradually darkened, and his expression became extremely solemn.

"Sister Su Mo, I have a question for you." Yun Yu looked at the turbulent sea and spoke softly:

"If the legends truly exist, and a sea god exists to protect the ocean, do you think he would be angry if someone recklessly dumped large amounts of industrial wastewater into the sea, wantonly destroying the waters he guards?"

Su Mo, who had just regained her footing, paused for a moment, instinctively following his gaze to the sea. After a moment's hesitation, she softly replied:

"Theoretically speaking, any being that protects the living beings in a region would be angry to see their homeland destroyed like this."

However, the sea god is ultimately just a folk legend passed down through generations in fishing villages; such a deity probably doesn't exist in reality.

Yun Yu didn't immediately refute her statement. Instead, she bent down, picked up her backpack from the rocks, and let Su Mo put the samples inside, her tone carrying a hint of seriousness:

"What if the so-called sea god isn't a deity at all, but rather a gigantic life form like a monster?"

Upon hearing this, Su Mo belatedly realized what was happening:

"You mean the sudden ground tremors just now weren't ordinary natural earthquakes, but caused by a legendary sea god, or a monster slumbering in the seabed?"

Just then, a clear and ethereal sound came from the dark depths of the sea without warning.

The sound seemed both near and far, like the low weeping of a soul lost in the deep sea. Though ethereal to the extreme, it was accompanied by a suffocating, intense pain, as if countless invisible needles were piercing the depths of the listener's soul.

The next second, the tremors beneath their feet suddenly became violent, far more intense than before.

Sand and pebbles rolled down the mudflats, the reefs on the shore trembled with a cracking sound, and huge, turbid waves several feet high suddenly surged up from the sea, slamming dead fish onto the beach.

This is clearly the guy who was just sleeping awake!

"Hurry, let's get out of here first!" Yun Yu no longer hesitated, grabbed Su Mo's hand tightly, and led the group to run wildly towards the village.

Although she still had a lot of questions, Su Mo knew that now was not the time to think about them. They had to hurry to the village and tell the villagers to evacuate immediately!

Haha, personally, I think the movie is pretty good, very well-made. The second episode having a newbie fight two monsters is really good, but the CG parts of the fight scenes are too difficult to pull off.

And Daigo did indeed attend the Ultraman event for the 60th anniversary; you can find out by searching online. It was truly touching.

Also, the Ultra Key (Chinese version) by Baihuo is really good-looking. Everyone can go check it out and support it.

Then, my book just slipped out of fifth place on the new book chart and jumped to fifth place on the old book chart, which I didn't expect. To thank everyone for their support, this is an extra chapter. Love you all!
