Zombie Apocalypse: Don't be afraid, I'm not a good person.
Chapter 261 Green Centipede
Jiang Yan was helped up, clutching her aching chest and panting. She had taken a punch, her head was throbbing, and her chest felt tight. She tried to rub it but couldn't find the right spot because she was too fat there!
She saw the giant zombie holding the electric tricycle high, about to smash it down on the soldiers. Jiang Yan endured the discomfort and raised her left hand in the air!
In her mental vision, five nearly transparent, milky-white strands of psychic energy shot out from her palms, wrapping around the muscular man's limbs and head with lightning speed, tightening their grip and pinning him firmly in place.
These threads are invisible to others, but Jiang Yan can clearly sense the force transmitted from the other end of the threads.
"roar!"
The burly man let out a deep roar, his muscles bulging as he twisted and turned desperately, each act of resistance sending a backlash through the threads into Jiang Yan's mind.
She felt her mental energy rapidly draining away, and the throbbing pain in her temples growing increasingly intense.
If this continues, she won't be able to hold on any longer!
Jiang Yan felt both angry and frustrated. Why was its recovery ability so strong? How come it was impossible to kill it?
You can find it even after cutting off the head? I'll try again this time. How can you be so capable!
Her eyes hardened, and a milky white light shone from her right palm once more. She lashed out with her psychic whip again, precisely wrapping it around the neck of the large zombie.
The fleshy growth on its neck had just begun to fully recover when it was tightened again, its head slipped down to its feet once more, its massive body swayed, and then it fell heavily to the ground again.
The electric scooter also fell to the side.
Jiang Yan reached out with her left hand and grabbed at the head from afar, using her telekinesis to propel the zombie head straight towards her.
"Grenade!"
Jiang Yan called out, and the female soldier next to her immediately took a grenade from her tactical vest and handed it to her.
Jiang Yan forcefully shoved the grenade deep into the head and neck, making sure it was firmly in place, then pulled the safety lock, activated the grenade, and then hurled the head into the air.
As she released it, she added a burst of mental energy, propelling the head higher and farther.
"boom!"
The grenade exploded high in the sky, tearing the head apart by the violent blast wave, turning it into a sky full of foul-smelling debris.
Those present dared not breathe, their gazes shifting from the air to the headless corpse lying on the ground.
At the neck of the corpse, countless buds of flesh were still twitching, which was extremely eerie, but because the head could not be found, it gradually withered and drooped down, no longer moving.
"Dead...dead, right?"
"Hard to say... this thing is too eerie."
"What the hell is this thing? It's incredibly tough!"
"To be safe, pour gasoline on it and set it on fire! Let's see how it survives after it's burned to ashes!"
"Boom—!"
After dousing the corpse with gasoline and setting it on fire, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Then, watching it burn to a crisp and break at the slightest touch, they continued on their way.
"Miss Jiang Yan, you just vomited blood. Should we go back to base for a check-up?" A female soldier looked at her with concern, her voice soft.
Jiang Yan checked her body, smiled, and shook her head. "Thank you, I'm fine. I just had a jolt, and my powers are already repairing my body."
"Would you like some candy?"
The female soldier looked at her expectantly with her hands outstretched, her palms holding several candies of different flavors.
"Thank you! I'll have the orange flavor."
Jiang Yan's eyes lit up, and she chose one. The sweet taste made her feel much better.
As the team organized their equipment, they moved slowly forward. No one noticed that among the charred corpses behind them, the only piece of flesh that hadn't been burned through moved slightly.
A small opening suddenly appeared on the surface of the flesh, and a bright green centipede crawled out from it.
It was a full thirty centimeters long and almost as thick as a woman's forearm. Dozens of pairs of delicate limbs moved rapidly, and its emerald green carapace, gleaming with a cold light, looked particularly eerie in the sunlight.
It crawled out of the charred pile, twisted its body a few times, and its antennae trembled slightly, as if it were sniffing out something.
A few seconds later, it seemed to lock onto a direction, and its dozens of legs moved rapidly, skimming the ground as it chased after Jiang Yan's team.
The last soldier in the column was cautiously scanning his surroundings when he suddenly heard a noise behind him. He quickly raised his gun and turned around to check, but found nothing.
"Dongzi, what's wrong?"
A soldier nearby was startled by his movement and turned around to look, but he also saw nothing.
Dongzi suppressed the doubt in his eyes, shook his head, and said, "It's nothing, there's nothing wrong. Let's go."
"After we're done cleaning, I'll go back and get a good night's sleep."
Dongzi smiled and said, "I can't sleep well either; there might be another air raid siren in the night."
"Sigh, I just hope that our generation can end this damn apocalypse and allow the next generation to return to a peaceful life."
"We will do it."
The two turned around as they were talking and continued forward.
Just as they turned around, the green centipede crawled up Dongzi's waist and silently slipped into the gap in his backpack.
They completely missed each other's gaze.
"Shhh..."
This time, Dongzi heard a clear voice. He was about to turn around when he felt something crawling up his neck. His face changed, and when he reached out to touch it, he touched a carapace-like creature with legs all over its body. A cold sweat broke out on his forehead. Just as he was about to call for help, his throat suddenly went numb!
He opened his mouth, but no sound came out. He frantically reached out his hands to grab the thing, but felt a throbbing pain in his throat. The thing had pierced the skin on his neck and gone inside!
He tried to grab at it twice in vain, only managing to catch the tail before it slipped through his fingers.
"Hehe..."
Dongzi reached out to call his teammates, but couldn't make a sound because of his throat injury. The team happened to be at a windy intersection, and he watched helplessly as his teammates walked forward and muttered to themselves, completely unaware of his condition.
Several bluish-green veins spread from the wound on Dongzi's neck all over his body, crawling across his skin like vines, protruding high, twisting and grotesque, and occasionally the centipede could be seen crawling under his skin!
Dongzi clutched his neck with one hand, blood flowing through his fingers, and blood kept dripping from his mouth and nose.
With his other hand, he kept scratching the green vein patterns, which were itchy and painful, and soon he scratched them until they were covered in bloody marks.
Just a few seconds later, the patterns covered the entire body, even the eyeballs, and were covered in a greenish hue. A few seconds later, the green faded and the skin returned to its normal color.
"Gurgle...gurgle..."
Dongzi had lost consciousness, his pupils had turned deathly white, and a chilling sound of boiling viscous fluid came from deep within his throat. His muscles were also rising and falling like boiling water.
"puff!"
His biceps suddenly bulged high, followed by his shoulders, back, waist, abdomen, and legs. All the muscles in his body were expanding wildly and then quickly becoming firm and hard.
His bones cracked and popped, and his body twisted and grew uncontrollably, growing wildly from 1.8 meters tall to over 3 meters.
"Sizzle—!"
The camouflage combat uniform was stretched to its limit, and then it tore apart along all the seams!
Its outline and size were exactly the same as the large zombie that had been burned to death earlier.
