The helicopter formation following behind witnessed this scene from the air and felt their scalp tingle. The pilots gripped the control stick tightly, not because they were afraid of being in danger themselves, but because they were worried for their comrades on the ground.

"Buzz! This is Seagull One! This is Seagull One! All units, attention! All units, attention! Open fire freely, suppress the zombie horde! Support ground forces!"

"Seagull II received! Open fire at will!"

"Falcon 2 received! Open fire at will!"

As soon as the voice finished speaking on the communication channel, the helicopter formation quickly swooped down. A dozen or so helicopters dispersed in twos and threes, each finding a street to begin strafing the zombies on the street. Soldiers aimed at ordinary zombies, while pilots used machine guns to target the mutated ones.

"Thump thump thump—da da da da—!"

The dull roar of machine guns, mixed with the crisp sound of machine guns, echoed across the ancient city.

As soon as a large number of zombies rushed onto the street, they were torn to pieces by the barrage of bullets before they could even find their way. They fell down in large numbers, their rotting, blackened bodies forming a thick layer, while murky black water flowed down the cracks in the stone slabs.

The helicopter pilots were startled when they suddenly spotted the portal in the distance. Their hands trembled, and the helicopter shook. The machine gunners near the cabin door were terrified and started cursing at the pilots in the voice channel!

"Damn! Does he even know how to fly a plane?! He almost threw me off!"

"If you can drive, then you drive!"

"If I could drive, I wouldn't need you!"

"Hehe! Look at the sky ahead!"

The machine gunners peeked out suspiciously, but when they saw the silver light gate hanging in mid-air with zombies falling down, they stopped cursing the pilot and stared wide-eyed.

"Holy crap! A hole opened up in the sky! And they're throwing zombies down?! Good heavens!"

"Is this how zombies came about?"

"Who did this?!"

On Shenhe's side, the experience points on the system panel were jumping wildly, but he was frowning deeply.

Jiang Yan threw out more than a dozen mutants and crushed them into dust, but compared to Shen He, she was just playing house. Shen He's spatial abilities were simply too powerful.

There are no zombies nearby now, and the soldiers are shooting at the zombies that are blocked by the barrier. There is no danger at all.

She walked over to Shenhe and naturally took his arm, looking up at the "zombie waterfall" hundreds of meters in the air while stealing glances at the incredibly capable man beside her.

Seeing him frown, she couldn't help but reach out to rub his brow. At this moment, she had no haughty demeanor at all, and nestled against Shenhe like a little bird.

There was no way she could stand up to him after witnessing his incredible abilities!

Of course! Except for those self-righteous special groups.

"What's wrong? Why are you frowning?"

Jiang Yan asked curiously, unaware of how gentle her voice sounded. If Shenhe hadn't had such good hearing, he wouldn't have been able to hear her amidst the constant gunfire.

Shenhe looked at her in surprise, "Change back right now! I still prefer the arrogant you, the you who treats me like a fool, the you who's always defiant yet helpless!"

"You! Aren't you a fried dough stick?!"

Jiang Yan blushed, slapped him lightly, and her voice returned to its usual cold and aloof tone.

Shenhe breathed a sigh of relief, squinting his eyes. "Yeah! That's the attitude, much more comfortable. I frowned because these damn zombies smashed up the doors and windows, so barbaric!"

"Ha, you have the nerve to call others barbaric?" Jiang Yan shook her head speechlessly. "It's good enough that the main structure of the house hasn't collapsed. What you see here is what was renovated by later generations."

After thinking about the broken window for a while, I suddenly had a bright idea: was he planning to stay here for a long time?

That would be wonderful.

Before the two could exchange more than a few words, the horde of zombies arrived!

There are three intersections in total. Shenhe and his group are standing in the middle of the Y-shaped intersection, and they can see the situation of the two intersections directly in front of them at a glance.

In the distance of the alley, shadowy figures of corpses appeared. The first one appeared, followed by the second, the fifth, and then a dense horde of zombies, more and more of them.

They were ragged and bloodied, pushing each other forward, almost touching, roaring and howling, their gray eyes staring straight ahead.

They ran very fast and quickly reached the barrier released by Shenhe. Upon seeing Shenhe and his group through the barrier, the zombie horde became even more excited and began to accelerate their charge. The entire alley was occupied by zombies, and the horde was so dense that the road surface and the tail of the horde were almost invisible.

Inside the spatial barrier, one hundred soldiers were divided into two waves guarding two entrances. Because the alleyways were narrow, each wave of soldiers stood in several rows, so that after the front row fired a round, the soldiers behind could take over and continue firing.

Several soldiers also entered the shops on both sides, looking down at the street from the second-floor windows.

As the zombies rushed towards them, the soldiers' expressions turned serious, and they tightened their grip on their guns.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The zombie in the front row slammed its face into the spatial barrier, its forehead caved in, its body bounced backward, and it was then knocked aside by the zombies behind it, falling to the side and trampled beyond recognition.

The zombies that followed rushed to the barrier and were blocked. Their dark, sharp claws pressed against the spatial barrier, and they roared at the soldiers through the membrane!

"Bang bang bang bang—!"

Gunfire erupted, and the soldiers in the front ranks began firing, their guns spitting out muzzle flashes as dense bullets flew into the horde of corpses.

The spatial barrier is amazing; enemies can't get in, but bullets can still be fired. The distance is so close that you can even see the bullet shattering a skull, with black and red stuff shooting out.

The zombies in the front row fell down one after another, and the empty spaces were filled by the zombies behind them. In just over ten seconds, the ground was covered with layers of zombie corpses.

The other alleyway, which leads from the city center, has even more zombies. It's located opposite the two alleyways on either side, and it's quite a mess because Shenhe placed a teleportation portal there.

The horde of corpses surging from the city center charged forward headlong into the portal of light.

The next second, from the portal more than a hundred meters in the air, zombies fell out with a clatter, and the already large "zombie waterfall" doubled in size.

The scene was exceptionally spectacular.

Below, the corpses of zombies piled up into a small mountain, which continued to grow. The zombies that had managed to survive the fall dragged their broken arms or legs as they crawled toward the city.

Soldiers fired incessantly, the sound of gunfire filling the air. Shenhe stood in the center, guarding the battlefield, while Jiang Yan watched from the other side of the barrier, holding a telekinetic whip.

Whenever a mutated zombie runs over, if the soldiers' guns can't kill it, she'll lash it out with her whip. She's currently at level three, so killing level one zombies is easy for her; she can almost always sever the zombie with a gentle pull after wrapping her whip around it.

[Congratulations on leveling up!]

As the system notification ended, a warm current swept through my body, instantly replenishing the stamina I had used to maintain my powers, and I returned to peak condition.

Shenhe's lips curved slightly, and a smile appeared in his eyes.
