Remembering the tower defense games she used to play, she suddenly became interested and tugged at Shenhe's arm.

"Hey, Shenhe, let the soldiers set up two heavy machine guns here, and one at the window diagonally opposite. That'll create crossfire, what do you think?"

Shenhe glanced at the second floor; the windows were broken, and there were no zombies inside. He looked back at the surplus troops, now equipped with heavy machine guns, and nodded.

"Do as you say."

Jiang Yan smiled smugly, turned around triumphantly, and raised her hand to make a grabbing motion towards the few idle soldiers below.

"Huh? Huh, me?"

"How did it fly?"

Before the soldiers could react, they felt their bodies lighten and float up uncontrollably. Terrified, they grimaced and dared not move, unsure whether to stand still or at ease.

Using her telekinesis, Jiang Yan steadily placed the people in the windows she had previously selected, sending them over along with a heavy machine gun and ammunition boxes.

"Fire right here, and be sure to provide cross-cover."

Several soldiers clung to the windowsill, stunned for a moment, but quickly reacted, setting up their M2 heavy machine guns and loading them.

And you know what? Inspired by life, Jiang Yan set up several groups in a row. This terrain was really suitable for doing it this way. Setting up multiple points was much faster than holding onto those two points to clear out the zombies. Of course, this was only possible after Shenhe brought out the heavy machine gun.

The effect is similar to that of tower defense games; a little is consumed here, a little is consumed there, and the pressure at the alley entrance is greatly reduced.

Shenhe stood on the rooftop, a hint of fatigue between his brows. The seventh-level spatial barrier and teleportation portal had been kept open, which had taken a toll on his abilities and physical strength.

Looking into the distance and extending my spatial awareness to the vicinity, I searched for a long time but found nothing.

Where did that zombie king go?

While Shenhe was focused on finding the location of the Corpse King, the helicopter formation was almost out of ammunition and the group had begun to turn around in the air to prepare for return.

No one noticed that a two-meter-tall dark shadow stood silently in the second-floor window of a guesthouse directly below the aircraft.

Half of the figure's body was charred black, and nearly two-thirds of its body, from head to ankle, was carbonized. Wisps of smoke were still rising from the cracked skin, as if the inside was still burning.

Its eye sockets flickered with orange-red flames, and with each breath, white smoke would billow from its carbonized lips, occasionally mixed with a few sparks that would flash in the air before going out.

He was like a piece of live charcoal that hadn't been fully burned.

It indifferently swept its gaze over the horrific scene of corpses strewn across the street, its charred face devoid of any emotion, before slowly raising its head to look at the formation of aircraft in the sky.

"Ho! Whoosh!"

The carbonized jaw opened slowly, emitting a hoarse, piercing hoarse sound, and white smoke billowed from its mouth.

Its black face gradually turned red, and the carbonized face actually began to burn. Several flames flashed across the two faces. In its mouth, a blood-red fireball the size of a billiard ball was rapidly forming, and the high temperature caused the surrounding air to distort.

Two seconds later.

"Sizzle!"

The fireball burst through the window, shooting straight into the air with an astonishing heat wave.

After leaving the body, the fireball swelled in the wind, expanding from the size of a table tennis ball to the size of a basketball in the blink of an eye. Its blood color faded slightly, but its speed was so fast that it left a dark red afterimage.

The targeted aircraft was the Seagull 4, a Z-20J carrier-based transport aircraft.

At this moment, it was completing a turning maneuver, and the two machine gunners inside the cabin were busy retracting the onboard machine guns and securing the gun mounts in preparation for closing the cabin door.

"Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!"

A sudden, urgent alarm blared throughout the cabin, and the infrared alarm lights on the instrument panel flashed wildly.

"Enemy attack! Pull the lever to evade!"

The moment the driver's shout came through the headset, the two machine gunners froze, then turned and rushed to their seats.

But before he could run two steps, the alarm suddenly turned shrill and urgent, "Beep! Beep! Beep!"

"Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump!"

Airborne flares were fired in unison, and flares exploded in the air, creating a dazzling display of light.

But it was no use. That fireball wasn't an electronic device; it passed through the barrage of interference and slammed into the main rotor.

"Bang—Boom!"

A dull thud followed by a deafening explosion swept through the cabin, causing the entire aircraft to shudder violently and tilt sharply to one side.

The two machine gunners could barely stand; they swayed and staggered in the cabin, desperately trying to grab onto the handrails around them.

"call--!"

At that moment! Crimson flames poured into the cabin along the damaged rotor base and the open hatch, and the enormous thrust threw the two machine gunners heavily out of the cabin.

One soldier was lucky; he crashed into the cabin and then fell heavily to the floor. Although he managed to grab onto something to stop himself from swaying, half of his body was slightly scorched by the firelight, and his combat uniform was burned off, revealing large areas of burned skin.

Another soldier was in bad shape; he was directly hit by the red flames that flooded the cabin and was thrown out of the cabin, falling into the street below.

The person had just landed and was in a daze, suffering severe internal injuries, and coughed up blood.

Before he could even react, a group of zombies surrounded him, crouching down beside him. Before he could realize he needed to fight back, the hungry zombies bit off his limbs and devoured him.

"Aaaaaaaahhhhhh—!"

The ball of red fire struck the plane's propeller precisely. Several blades were quickly melted into molten iron, which flowed down the fuselage. The plane was completely out of control, swaying and spinning in the air as it plummeted toward the ground.

"Distance! Distance! Distance! Seagull No. 4 helicopter has been hit, lost power, and is plummeting rapidly. All personnel, prepare for collision avoidance!"

"Seagull No. 4 helicopter! About to crash! All personnel, assume collision stance! Good luck!!"

The pilot's voice trailed off over the communication channel for the last time before the plane crashed into the main building of the guesthouse.

The wooden beams collapsed with a roar, and dust mixed with sawdust flew everywhere. Fortunately, there was no secondary explosion.

The rest of the formation witnessed the horrific crash of their friendly aircraft. The communication channel was silent for a moment before a rescue order was issued.

From the assembled aircraft group, one transport plane and two armed helicopters immediately broke away from the formation and sped toward the crash site.

When the three planes arrived, the wooden structure of the guesthouse had already been ignited by the remaining fires on the fuselage, and thick smoke was billowing out.

The fire was a blood-red fire, eerie and dangerous!

The street outside the courtyard gate was already crowded with zombies. Attracted by the explosion, they all gathered around, their withered black claws frantically pounding on the wooden gate. The wooden planks creaked and were about to be smashed to pieces. If the horde of zombies rushed in, they wouldn't be able to save anyone, let alone retrieve the remains.

The three planes immediately divided the tasks: the transport plane hovered over the courtyard of the guesthouse and lowered its rappelling ladder to prepare for the retrieval.

Two other armed helicopters moved over the street, using their remaining ammunition to suppress the horde of corpses.

"Thump thump thump—thump thump thump!"

The machine gun and the airborne heavy machine gun fired simultaneously, and the barrage swept across, tearing the zombies outside the courtyard gate to shreds.

But only a few seconds had passed since the fire started!

"Sizzle!"

Another blood-red fireball, the size of a basketball, suddenly shot out from the shadow of another house on the side of the street, heading straight for the armed helicopter at the front!
