Everyone's on a time-travel adventure! I'm raising city beasts in a post-apocalyptic world

After seeing Xiao Hei's new abilities, Lin Feng couldn't help but sigh, "This little guy is a bit fierce..."

The talent "Moon Devourer" allows one to increase their strength by killing the eerie little black creature. This kind of growth-oriented ability, wow...

There's also the Loyal Guardian ability. If someone were to get close to you one day, thinking you're someone who only fights by controlling beasts, and try to attack you, you'd be facing a berserk Little Black with all attributes multiplied by 300%. Just thinking about it makes you want to mourn for the enemy for 3 seconds.

"Golden Eyes, it's your turn."

[Consuming 1 evolution points, your natal beast, the Golden Eagle, begins its evolution.]

The evolution of Golden Eyes was much more dramatic than that of Blackie. Golden Eyes' outstretched wings could be seen from a great distance, expanding from fifteen meters to over twenty meters. The change in size was not significant; the main change was that all the feathers on its body had turned golden, dazzling as if it had flown out of the sun.

After circling in the sky several times, Jin Tong folded its wings and swooped down, landing on the highest point of the villa's rooftop. Its imposing presence caused the horses in the outer city's stables to lower their bodies and dare not move.

[Your natal beast, the Golden Eagle, has automatically evolved into a level 4 Black Iron beast due to its innate talent.]

My natal beast: Golden Eagle (name: Golden Eyes)

Current level: Iron 4

Ability 1: Golden Eyes of Truth

Ability 2: Wind Control

Ability 3: Golden Feather Sword Formation [Golden Eyes can shoot 100 special golden feathers from its wings at once. Each feather can transform into a golden, flowing sword blade. A single feather is equivalent to a full-force attack from a level 4 Awakened. When all 100 feathers are fired simultaneously, they form a Golden Feather Sword Formation, causing devastating damage to the area it covers. The daily recovery limit is 50 feathers.]

After reading it, Lin Feng was completely speechless. Once evolved to the Black Iron level, the combat power not only doubled, but increased exponentially. With just the Golden Eyes, he could wipe out the current camp several times over. Not to mention, there was also the final clearing beast, Xiao Xuan, guarding the camp.

"Whose subordinate is this? Oh, he's mine. That's alright then!!!"

Next is the Tree of Life.

Lin Feng went to the backyard and saw that the sweet potatoes he had planted had already grown clusters of sweet potato vines. In a few days, he could cut the vines and plant them on a large scale. Who would have thought that this tree, which was once a dying branch, was now not only alive, but also had such a good effect on improving the soil and accelerating plant growth.

Lin Feng's gaze fell on the verdant trunk of the Tree of Life.

"Your turn."

[Consuming 10,000 Evolution Points, the Tree of Life begins to evolve.]

A soft light emanates from the roots of the Tree of Life, climbing up the trunk and flowing through every branch and leaf, causing the trunk to thicken inch by inch and the crown to grow larger.

A moment later, the light dissipated, and everything returned to calm. Lin Feng could feel that the tree had "come alive"—the kind of life that had given birth to intelligence. Its original spirituality was faint, but now it seemed to be able to communicate with it.

[Your destined Beast Tree of Life evolves to Black Iron Level 4.]

Lin Feng didn't rush to look at the panel, but asked a few questions first. He believed that the sacred tree of a race must know more than Lin Feng.

"I have a few questions for you."

The veins on the tree trunk glowed slightly, as if in response.

"Why does evolving to level 4 directly result in the Iron level? There was no such thing as level 1-3 before. What is the Iron level? And what about the professions?..." Lin Feng asked all his questions at once.

The branches of the Tree of Life swayed gently, and a stream of information and images flowed directly into Lin Feng's mind through the contract. Although this information was somewhat incomplete and fragmented, after Lin Feng sorted through it, he finally understood the doubts in his heart.

In this vast world, countless races coexist, and the division of strength is extremely simple and brutal: those at levels 0 to 3 are mortal races, with mortal bodies, lifespans of no more than a hundred years, and strength of no more than a thousand jin.

Levels 4 to 9 belong to the Black Iron race. Taking the legendary ancient humans as an example, the average Black Iron human has a lifespan of 800 years and a basic strength of 10,000 jin. The strongest members of their race can even have a strength of 1 million jin, making them terrifying beings capable of destroying a city single-handedly.

Those at levels 10 to 16 are the Bronze race, possessing psionic energy and the power of the five elements (wind, rain, thunder, and lightning), with a lifespan of 3000 years.

Humans are one of the very few races that do not have a racial lineage.

Unlike other races that are born with innate bloodline talents and skills and know how to evolve from birth, humans are different. Humans need external objects to ignite that path of evolution, and that is the altar.

Lin Feng saw magnificent altars standing on the earth in the scene, and even a huge and majestic altar made entirely of spirit jade, covered with dense runes, with a golden sacred tree that seemed to be made of gold standing in it. "No, that's not ordinary gold..."

Lin Feng only glanced at it before feeling a sharp pain in his mind. He quickly banished the image from his mind and stopped looking at it.

The altar allows any mortal to directly enter the Black Iron realm, and during advancement, it bestows a professional mark based on each person's characteristics, enabling them to leap all the way to the pinnacle of all races and the level of the Golden Race.

But that ancient human race eventually disappeared, its lineage was broken, and the altar was lost.

Since the altar appeared, countless races have tried to imitate it, but very few have succeeded. The Tree of Life, however, happens to be able to…

Create an altar for life.

As for Lin Feng's pseudo-Black Iron Level 3 state, it is entirely due to the positive push brought by the feedback from the Beast Taming. Every time the Beast Taming evolves, it will feed back a part of its life essence to Lin Feng, pushing him to transform into a Black Iron human. As long as he accumulates enough, he can enter the Black Iron level even without an altar. It's just that he is only a semi-finished product now.

Wang Lie and his group likely received a fragmented altar inheritance. Due to the lack of a life-preserving array, their bloodline transformation was incomplete. Although they obtained professions, they needed to kill enough enemies and absorb enough primal power. The Mysterious Crystal contained a strange portion of primal power.

The reason why so many ordinary people die while almost all awakened ones are unharmed is that awakened ones are on the path of evolution. Psionic energy is something that should only be mastered by bronze races. So as long as awakened ones do not die prematurely, as long as they can grow up, they will almost certainly be able to ascend to the bronze race.

It is something that countless races have sought with all their might but have failed to obtain.

After reading all the information, Lin Feng took a deep breath. "I must build the Altar of Life as soon as possible. It seems I have to set off as soon as possible. There is no black iron ore here, so I can't build it even if I wanted to. The dilapidated altar that Wang Lie mentioned must be it. By the way, I will take the altar materials without asking any questions."

After Wang Lie returned, the camp was reorganized much faster than Lin Feng had expected, which shows that Wang Lie truly deserves to be the captain.
