Everyone's on a time-travel adventure! I'm raising city beasts in a post-apocalyptic world

The situation was becoming increasingly critical, and the gold-eating ants were rushing over. Their huge mandibles made them look like troublemakers, and the consequences would be unimaginable if they got close.

"General, the power system is under continuous attack, and the speed has decreased by 11%..."

"General, the armor damage is 34%, and a strange breach has already occurred..."

"General! The swarm is still 8 kilometers away... 5 kilometers away..."

Lance's eyes reddened in the command room.

"Artillery? All artillery, fire! At any cost, blast those bugs to smithereens!"

The cannons roared again, and the shells fell into the ant swarm, creating large areas of fire and craters. But this time, the scene of flying flesh and blood that they had expected did not appear. The shells landed in the gold-eating ant swarm, and the shock wave of the explosion did indeed throw the gold-eating ants into the air, and some of them tumbled over.

The shells only left charred marks on their carapaces. They rolled over on the ground, shook their heads, and continued charging forward. These level 4 and 5 gold-eating ants had incredibly hard carapaces. After the shells exploded, only shallow marks were left on their bodies.

Upon seeing this scene, both Wang Lie and Lin Feng breathed a sigh of relief. Although the cannon seemed powerful, it could not actually cause much damage to level 4 creatures, let alone level 5 creatures. If a creature was hit head-on by a cannonball, it would probably just be a knockout.

The people on the mobile fortress panicked when they saw this, firing shells like they were free. Soon, a violent explosion occurred on the top of the mobile city as the cannons fired recklessly, eventually bursting their barrels.

Wang Lie unleashed several more bolts of lightning, detonating the cannonballs in the air. Seeing this, a smile appeared on his lips.

"Haha, served you right for being so arrogant! Your gun exploded, didn't it! Brothers, charge! Take this fortress!"

The soldiers on the mobile city were trembling at the sight. The monsters were terrifying enough, but now so many insects had appeared, and they couldn't be killed. Now even the artillery was being blown up.

Lance stared at the approaching ant swarm on the screen, especially the largest level 6 ant general, which was closing in at an alarming speed. He spoke in a hoarse voice, "Have the cyborg squad... go down and stop the largest ant. The rest of you keep shooting and hold off the swarm of insects."

The adjutant hesitated for a moment: "General, the cyborgs are our last high-end fighting force. If we lose them here..."

"I'm in charge! Go!" Lance glared at him. How could he not know? He had spent a lot of money to build the cyborg team. Compared to the fall of the entire fortress, he could tell which was more important.

The bottom hatch of the mobile city suddenly sprang open, and 12 burly men, each over 3 meters tall, crashed to the ground, each holding a giant shotgun that glowed with blue light.

After landing, they unleashed a barrage of attacks on the surrounding bizarre creatures, shattering the monsters that were damaging the tracks in large swathes, and the speed of the moving city increased dramatically.

The leader, a burly white man, had muscles that were almost bursting out of his combat suit. If the ladies of Earth were to see his explosive muscles and strong lines, they would drool uncontrollably down their thighs.

"Shit! Sending us to hold off the swarm? Has the general gone mad?"

"Shut up! We have to fight, whether we like it or not. Have you forgotten what's in your head?"

The cyborg squad quickly spread out, raised their shotguns, and aimed at the charging swarm of ants.

"Fire!"

Blue and white flames shot out from the muzzle, and a large number of rune bullets shot towards the ant swarm. The gold-eating ants at the forefront were hit head-on, and bowl-sized holes were blown open in their carapaces. The burning effect of the bullets had burned through the tissue under the gold-eating ants' carapaces.

"If you can break through their defenses, then attack!" the leading captain shouted.

The elite team of twelve was immediately filled with confidence and began to cooperate with each other.

Seeing its subordinates suffer repeated losses, the ant general let out an angry hiss, a savage glint flashing in its compound eyes, and accelerated its charge towards them.

The ant general was incredibly fast, reaching them in just a few breaths. It opened its mandibles and bit the nearest cyborg in the waist.

The man reacted extremely quickly. Despite his seemingly massive body, he was incredibly agile. He dodged to the side and simultaneously swung the butt of his shotgun at the ant general's mouth, producing a dull metallic clang. The force was so great that it caused the ant general to tilt its head.

Wang Lie leaped up from behind the ant general, and the lightning in his hand condensed into a ball of lightning that crashed down.

Rumble...

The lightning ball struck the cyborg captain, exploding into a dazzling blue light. The surrounding cyborgs were forced back by the shockwave, their bodies paralyzed. The captain was in particularly dire condition, his hair standing on end, revealing deep, bone-revealing wounds, and his entire body was charred black, yet he still did not fall.

"You're really tough! Try this!"

As they were speaking, a bolt of lightning as thick as a bucket struck down from the sky.

At the same moment, hundreds of Level 5 Gold-Eating Ants surged out from behind them, surrounding the team of cyborgs completely. Some bit their legs, some bit their arms, and shotguns blasted cracks and even holes the size of bowls into the carapaces of the Gold-Eating Ants, but the Gold-Eating Ants still held on tightly and refused to let go.

These cyborgs are incredibly strong; they can even shatter the carapace of a level 5 Gold-Eating Ant with a single punch and send it flying dozens of meters with a kick. However, there are just too many Gold-Eating Ants; as soon as one is killed, ten more swarm in.

The cyborg team struggled for only a moment before being completely overwhelmed by the ant swarm. The captain was struck on the head by a bolt of lightning from Wang Lie and was then bitten in two by the ant general.

Having dealt with the cyborg squad, the ant colony continued its advance.

In the command center, the adjutant's voice was filled with barely suppressed fear: "General, call for reinforcements! Request long-range fire support from General Mike! Any later and we're finished. The swarm is about to charge..."

As Lance watched the last cyborg's life signal disappear completely on the screen, he utterly collapsed.

In the end, he pressed the communication button.

A holographic image rose in the center of the command room, and an elderly white man in a crisp military uniform appeared on the screen. He had a sly smile on his face, looked at Lance with a scrutinizing gaze, and spoke with a mocking tone.

"Kid, you've deviated from the planned return route again. What's wrong? Did you find some treasure, or do you need my help?"

Lance gritted his teeth and said, "I need backup."

Mike raised an eyebrow: "Support is no problem, but what's the price? You know my rules, right?"

"I am willing to pay 10,000 level 4 Mystic Crystals."

Mike shook his head slightly and wagged his index finger: "No, I want your Armory artifact."

Lance's pupils contracted, and the veins on his forehead bulged: "Impossible!"

Mike smiled faintly, leaned back, crossed his legs, and said in an indifferent tone, "Then forget it. Good luck to you."
