It was exactly 8 p.m.

The carved wooden door to the banquet hall was gently pushed open from the outside.

The waiter led in a flower delivery person.

When Jiang Ye saw the person who walked in carrying a large bouquet of expensive champagne roses, his breath caught in his throat, and his heart leaped into his throat.

It was Shen Qinghan!

Shen Qinghan was still wearing the work uniform with the florist's logo, a baseball cap on her head, and holding a huge bouquet of flowers that almost completely covered her upper body.

The moment she walked into the banquet hall and looked up.

Three women, along with Jiang Ye, unexpectedly met in this enclosed and luxurious space.

At that moment, the air seemed to be instantly sucked out.

Jiang Ye broke out in a cold sweat instantly.

He knows these three women too well.

Han Qingru appears gentle, but she has an inviolable bottom line; Xia Yu is strong-willed and sharp-tongued, and never suffers a loss; while Shen Qinghan was once known in Hanzhou for her fiery temper and arrogance.

When these three women collide, it's like Mars colliding with Earth.

Jiang Ye was even prepared, expecting a cataclysmic argument to erupt at any moment, perhaps even a farce involving hair-pulling and wine-throwing.

however.

The expected shrewish outburst did not occur.

Shen Qinghan's body visibly stiffened the moment she saw Jiang Ye, Han Qingru, and Xia Yu. A hint of panic and embarrassment flashed in her eyes, but she quickly forced herself to calm down.

She didn't make a scene, nor did she turn around and run away.

Shen Qinghan simply lowered her head silently, pulling her hat brim down to try and prevent others from seeing her face.

Carrying the heavy bouquet of champagne roses, she walked to the display stand in the corner of the banquet hall, quickly and respectfully arranged the flowers, and carefully adjusted the angle of the petals.

After doing all this, Shen Qinghan turned around and bowed slightly towards the dining table.

"Please enjoy your meal, everyone. Sorry to bother you."

Her voice was soft and calm, without any extraneous emotions.

After saying that, Shen Qinghan lowered her head and quickly left the banquet hall, closing the carved wooden door behind her.

The whole process took less than two minutes.

The banquet hall was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Han Qingru sat in the chair, her gaze following Shen Qinghan's back. When she saw Shen Qinghan's rough hands, covered in calluses and scars, a complex emotion flashed in her eyes.

As a woman herself, she could feel the pain in Shen Qinghan as she was being rebuilt after being completely shattered by life.

Han Qingru picked up the teacup in front of her, took a small sip, then turned to look at Jiang Ye and spoke in a calm tone:

"Miss Shen has indeed changed a lot. It's not easy for a woman to put aside all her former pride and do such rough work in the sun and wind, and still manage the flower shop so well. Her hands are so delicate and make people feel sorry for her."

Han Qingru's words were very magnanimous, not only giving Jiang Ye face, but also demonstrating her tolerance and broad-mindedness as the eldest sister.

Sitting opposite her, Xia Yu held a glass of Bordeaux red wine, her eyes fixed intently on the direction Shen Qinghan had left.

Upon hearing Han Qingru's words, Xia Yu's lips curled up slightly, revealing a meaningful smile.

She gently swirled the wine in her glass, watching the crimson liquid dance on the glass, then spoke in a tone that was both understated and sharp, tinged with a hint of mockery:

"Boss Shen's flower arranging skills are indeed quite good, and his aesthetic sense is on point."

Xia Yu paused, her gaze sweeping over Jiang Ye and Han Qingru's faces, and added with a half-smile:

"However, looking at all these champagne roses in the room, it seems there won't be any for me."

The moment those words were spoken, the atmosphere in the banquet hall became somewhat awkward.

Xia Yu's words, on the surface, were praising the flowers, but in reality, they were a veiled reference to Jiang Ye's current romantic relationship, while also subtly asserting her own unique presence as a "soulmate."

Jiang Ye sat in the main seat, listening to the conversation between the two women, and couldn't help but laugh and cry.

He felt like his head was about to explode.

There was no fighting, no insults, and not even a harsh word between the three women.

However, in those few short minutes, they used the most restrained, dignified, yet subtly turbulent way that adults do to complete an extreme tug-of-war and confrontation.

Han Qingru demonstrated the composure of the empress with her magnanimity; Xia Yu highlighted the sharpness of an ally with his teasing; while Shen Qinghan preserved her last shred of dignity with humility and concession.

The dinner continued.

As the host, Jiang Ye kept raising his glass and exchanging toasts with the executives of Xia Yu's team.

After a few glasses of strong Moutai liquor, Jiang Ye's eyes became somewhat glazed.

He leaned back in the large mahogany chair, looking at Han Qingru, who was sitting on his left, gentle and considerate, serving him food and tea; then he looked at Xia Yu, who was sitting on his right, with a powerful aura, chatting and laughing with executives, planning a famous business empire.

Involuntarily, the image of Shen Qinghan holding an umbrella for him in the pouring rain and the image of her bowing her head, humbly placing the flowers down before turning away resurfaced in his mind.

Jiang Ye's heart suddenly fell into a deep confusion.

He originally thought that under the aurora borealis in Mohe, he had found his own "Cloud Wilderness" and inner peace.

But now, when he returns to the city and is once again embroiled in these complex business interests and emotional entanglements, he discovers that things are far more complicated than he imagined.

Han Qingru gave him a warm home, Xia Yu gave him the sword to conquer the world, while Shen Qinghan became an indelible scar of guilt in his heart.

Jiang Ye picked up the wine glass in front of him and drank the remaining baijiu in one gulp.

The spicy liquor flowed down his throat and into his stomach, but it couldn't quell the restlessness in his heart.

He turned his head and looked out through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the banquet hall at the pitch-black night and the bamboo forest swaying in the wind.

Jiang Ye silently asked himself this question.

When will he finally be able to break free from all these constraints?

When will he finally be able to live a life free from scheming and entanglement, a life of complete freedom for his soul, a life belonging to the Cloud Wilderness?
