The scene of the roller coaster murder.

Shinichi Kudo stood in the middle of the crowd, one hand in his pocket, the other pointing at the culprit, with the confident smile of a young genius on his face.

"The murderer is you—Miss Hitomi!" Shinichi's voice was clear and powerful, echoing through the crowd!

He then presented his reasoning: the pearl necklace found in the tunnel, and the pearl necklace that had disappeared from Xiaotong's neck.

Xiaotong's face was deathly pale.

She opened her mouth as if to say something, but ultimately lowered her head.

Her shoulders trembled slightly, and her voice was so low it was almost inaudible: "He...he deserves to die...he deceived my feelings and swindled me out of all my savings...I'm burdened with debt because of him...he deserves to die..."

Her voice was choked with tears, but none of them fell.

Silence fell over the scene.

Even the onlookers who had been whispering among themselves fell silent.

Some people showed sympathy, some sighed, and some remained expressionless.

But Gin and vodka are clearly not among this group of "compassionate" people.

Vodka, who had been waiting impatiently, stepped forward and said, "Now that the murder case is solved, we can leave!"

When Inspector Megure saw that the other party looked somewhat fierce, he frowned, but not wanting to cause trouble, he nodded and said, "Yes, you can leave now."

Seeing this, Vodka couldn't wait to walk to the door and clear a path for Gin.

The two walked quickly through the crowd, their hurried steps contrasting sharply with the tourists around them who were still discussing the murder case.

Vodka muttered under his breath as he walked, "Damn it! How dare he touch our people? He's courting death! If I catch him, I'll make that guy wish he were dead!"

His voice wasn't loud, but it happened to be heard by Shinichi Kudo.

Shinichi's ears twitched slightly.

He turned his head and watched the two figures in black trench coats disappear into the crowd, his brows furrowing slightly.

Those two people—they seemed out of place from the very beginning.

When the murder occurred, they didn't panic and scream like the others; instead, they seemed to be observing something.

Now that the murder case has just been solved, they are leaving in a hurry, as if they are in a rush to do something.

And what does that burly man mean by saying "dare to touch our people"? Who are they?

Shinichi hesitated for a moment, then turned to Ran beside him and said, "Ran, you should go home first! I still have some things to take care of!"

"Huh? Shinichi?" Before Ran could even speak, Shinichi had already run several meters away.

She could only stand there, watching his figure grow smaller and smaller in the distance, and sighed helplessly, "Really... not again..."

Shinichi weaved through the crowd, trailing far behind Gin and Vodka.

His tracking skills weren't particularly professional, but in a crowded amusement park like this, as long as he maintained a sufficient distance, it wasn't too difficult.

He saw the two men in black walk quickly to an abandoned building area below the Ferris wheel and then stop.

Shinichi quickly hid behind a large tree and secretly observed.

He saw the two men in black standing next to a corpse lying on the ground.

A large patch of dark red had seeped out below the corpse's head, indicating that it had clearly been dead for some time.

The tall man in black squatted down, picked something up from the ground, and examined it in his palm.

Upon closer inspection, Shinichi discovered they were actually bullet casings!

And someone died over there!

Shinichi immediately realized there was a major case at play!!

Just as he looked down to take out his phone, he suddenly heard very light footsteps behind him.

Shinichi couldn't turn back in time.

A metal water pipe whistled through the air and slammed hard into the back of his head.

"Bang!"

Shinichi's vision went completely black in an instant, and his body collapsed to the ground like a puppet with its strings cut. His phone slipped from his hand and fell to the ground screen-up, still lit up.

Gin stood behind him, holding a blood-stained water pipe in his hand, looking down at the boy lying on the ground, his face expressionless.

He casually tossed the water pipe aside, squatted down, took a white pill out of his pocket, pried open Shinichi's mouth, and stuffed it in.

Outside the scene of the roller coaster murder.

Miwako Sato sat in the driver's seat and started the police car.

She adjusted the rearview mirror and glanced at Xiaotong in the back seat—the woman was looking down, her hands cuffed in front of her, her expression forlorn.

Miwako Sato felt a mix of emotions.

This woman was also a pitiful person, but being pitiful cannot be a reason to kill.

She stepped on the gas, and the police car slowly drove out of the parking lot, along the road outside the amusement park, towards the Metropolitan Police Department.

There were four people in the car.

Miwako Sato was in the driver's seat, an old detective was in the passenger seat, and in the back seat, besides Hitomi, there was another policewoman responsible for guarding her.

The police car drove smoothly.

The road conditions were good, there weren't many cars or pedestrians.

The setting sun painted the sky a beautiful orange-red.

Miwako Sato turned on the radio and tuned it to a music channel, where soothing jazz music flowed through the carriage.

"The case was solved pretty quickly today," the veteran detective in the passenger seat said with a smile. "That high school detective is really something."

"Yes," Sato Miwako responded, "I've heard Inspector Megure mention Shinichi Kudo several times."

"His father is the famous novelist Yusaku Kudo. Like father, like son."

"Sigh, if only the Metropolitan Police Department could recruit him, it would save us from having to work overtime every day..."

The two chatted casually, and the atmosphere in the carriage was fairly relaxed.

But Sato Miwako always had an inexplicable sense of unease, as if something was about to happen.

She glanced at the rearview mirror subconsciously, then looked at the roads on both sides—nothing seemed amiss.

She relaxed a little.

Just then—

Boom!!!

A loud bang came from the right!

Sato Miwako's pupils contracted sharply, and she instinctively jerked the steering wheel, but it was too late!

A black SUV sped out from the right-hand side road at high speed, its front end slamming into the side of the police car!

The immense impact caused the police car to slide to the left like a toy!

The tires screeched as they hit the ground, and the crunching sound of metal being squeezed and deformed echoed throughout the street!

The car window shattered instantly, and shards of glass rained into the passenger compartment!

Miwako Sato's body was tightly bound by the seatbelt, but her head still slammed into the side window, and her vision went black for a moment.

The veteran detective in the passenger seat fared even worse. His side was directly hit, and the airbag had deployed, encasing him inside. His arm hung at an unnatural angle, clearly broken.

From the back seat came Xiaotong and the policewoman's exclamations, followed by a dull thud as their bodies slammed against the car door.

The police car slid several meters along the road before finally coming to a stop with a loud crash into the roadside guardrail.

White smoke was billowing from the hood, and the car was covered in scratches and dents.

Broken glass shards covered the road, shimmering in the setting sun.
