I'm in Detective Conan, and I start with the Grand Theft Auto system.

Chapter 286: Demolish it and make Conan take the blame!

The space on top of the elevator is very narrow.

The two of them squeezed into a corner, with the mercury bomb right above their heads, and the ticking of the timer was clearly audible.

Sato Miwako looked at the bomb, sighed, and said with great frustration, "I've never had a proper relationship in my entire life."

"If I were to really die here, it would be quite pathetic."

She spoke softly, with a hint of self-deprecation.

Lin Shen turned to look at her and smiled, "That's easy. If we really can't get out, I'll take the loss and become your boyfriend."

Sato Miwako chuckled at his words and rolled her eyes at him: "Being my boyfriend isn't that easy. I like strong men, and I can't stand effeminate guys."

Lin Shen stroked his chin: "Then I think I'm pretty assertive."

Sato Miwako glanced at Lin Shen speechlessly, thinking about all the things he had done, and couldn't help but retort, "If you call that being assertive, then nobody's assertive!"

"What kind of good Samaritan would just randomly come and wipe out a Muddy Gang stronghold?"

Lin Shen smiled without saying a word, offering no rebuttal.

Miwako Sato sighed and continued, "Besides, even if I did get a boyfriend, I doubt he'd be a good girlfriend."

"I'm too busy. Do you know that we criminal police officers don't go home for at least twenty days a month?"

"When I used to attend social events, the men would usually back down as soon as this topic came up."

"They can't stand girlfriends who are never around."

Upon hearing this, Lin Shen's heart stirred, and he said, "Really? That's perfect, I'm different from them."

"I like women who are focused on their careers."

"Charm comes from taking your work seriously."

Sato Miwako turned to look at him: "Don't give me that, you're just making it sound nice."

Lin Shen smiled and said, "I'm not just being polite."

"If you manage to get out of here alive, I'll immediately arrange for you to be promoted to team leader, then manager, and then director."

"In a few years, you'll be the head of the First Investigation Division, the person in charge of the entire criminal investigation department."

He wasn't joking; he was seriously planning to plant his own people in the Metropolitan Police Department.

Isn't that what all the big shots in movies and TV dramas do?

Having connections in the Metropolitan Police Department will make things much easier from now on!

Sato Miwako couldn't help but laugh as she listened, thinking the other person was just making empty promises. She immediately replied with a smile, "Okay, I'll be waiting!"

"If I really become the head of the Criminal Investigation Department, I'll be the first female head."

"I'm looking forward to it, Mr. Lin—"

Before he could finish speaking, a noise suddenly came from above.

The two looked up.

At the ventilation opening, a small figure was descending.

Conan, with a bomb disposal kit hanging on his back and a rappelling rope attached, slowly descended.

He landed on top of the elevator, stood steadily, looked up, and greeted them with a grin: "President Lin, Officer Sato, I'm here!"

Lin Shen chuckled as soon as he saw his face: "Conan? Why are you everywhere?"

Conan smiled without batting an eye: "I just happened to be passing by and heard that something happened here, so I came over to help."

As he spoke, he untied the descent rope behind him.

A bomb disposal expert's voice came from above: "Hey! Kid! Tie your ropes tight! Don't run around!"

Conan waved his hand: "It's alright! I'll stay here and help them!"

Sato Miwako panicked: "Conan! Tie the rope back up right now! This is no joke!"

Lin Shen wasn't in a hurry. He reached out and stopped Sato Miwako, saying, "Don't rush. It's better to let him stay."

Sato Miwako was stunned: "What do you mean?"

Lin Shen glanced at Conan and smirked: "To make him easy to take the blame."

Conan's smile froze on his face.

What? Taking the blame?

Is Lin Shen even speaking human language?

He's an eight-year-old kid who came down to help defuse a bomb, and now he has to take the blame?

Conan glared at Lin Shen with righteous indignation, about to retort, when Lin Shen added, "Don't worry, it won't be for nothing. After this is over, you can pick anything from my collection."

Conan paused for a moment, then his eyes lit up.

A collection? Pick whatever you like?

His mind raced, and he instantly swallowed his resentment, a smile returning to his face as he nodded and said, "Alright, deal!"

Sato Miwako stood to the side, watching the two of them, one daring to speak and the other daring to respond, but she couldn't get a word in edgewise.

She felt something was off, but couldn't quite put her finger on what it was.

She hesitated for a moment: "This... isn't a good idea... Besides, the criminal is probably hiding another bomb somewhere else, just like before."

Lin Shen didn't explain further, but simply gestured with his chin towards Conan: "Take it apart."

Conan stopped talking nonsense.

He crouched down and took out specialized bomb disposal tools from his toolbox with a skill that was dazzling to behold.

With a few clicks, the outer casing was opened, exposing the internal wiring.

Conan stared at the dense network of wires, his hands moving without pause, cutting them one by one.

Sato Miwako didn't dare to breathe, staring intently at his hand.

Lin Shen stood to the side, watching calmly.

He knew Conan's overpowered skill set all too well; there was almost nothing this guy couldn't do.

Defusing a bomb is a piece of cake!

Conan had just untied the last wire and was about to take action when the bomb's electronic screen suddenly flickered.

The countdown numbers disappeared, replaced by a new line of text: "Brave police officer, your courage is commendable!"

"Another bomb is still hidden somewhere in the city."

"It will give a warning three seconds before it explodes."

Sato Miwako's face immediately turned very ugly.

Three-second prompt?

What can you do in three seconds?

There's not even enough time to clearly see the words on the phone screen.

She recalled that scene from three years ago.

At that time, Matsuda Jinpei also saw the same words on the Ferris wheel.

He chose to send the message and found another bomb.

She subconsciously looked at Lin Shen, wanting to see what he would choose.

Lin Shen replied with only one word: "Demolish."

Conan paused for a moment, looked up at him, and without hesitation or asking any questions, continued what he was doing.

He first opened the liquid nitrogen bottle and carefully lowered the temperature around the mercury trigger. After the mercury had completely solidified, he gently pulled out the deadly trigger with tweezers.

The whole process lasted for several minutes, until the last "click" sounded, and the bomb went completely silent.

The number on the screen froze on a cold, lifeless number, and never moved again.

Conan breathed a sigh of relief and wiped the cold sweat from his forehead: "Alright. We're safe now."

Sato Miwako finally breathed a sigh of relief.

But then another question popped into her head: "What about the other bomb? What do we do?"

Conan also looked at Lin Shen.

Lin Shen looked down at the disassembled bomb casing and suddenly smiled: "Take this thing back intact and hand it over to the bomb disposal team."

Conan paused for a moment, then asked, "Take it back?"

Lin Shen said, "Yes. Make them read out all the chips and information inside."

"The prisoner is an old-fashioned person; he probably doesn't know how advanced technology has become."

Conan froze for a moment, then exclaimed in realization, "That's right! How come I didn't think of that!"

He quickly reloaded the bomb, re-secured the descent rope, and had the people above pull him back.

Sato Miwako stared blankly at the scene.

She suddenly realized that if Matsumoto Jinpei had handled things just as calmly back then, he might not have died.
