Chapter 50 Do you think you're playing Road Rash?
After the motorcycle started, the engine emitted a deep roar.
Lin Shen twisted the accelerator, the car vibrated slightly, and then suddenly shot forward.
Yoko Okino instinctively hugged Lin Shen's waist tightly.
Then... she regretted it.
Because the forest was deep, we drove too fast.
Motorcycles weave nimbly through the traffic in Tokyo, darting swiftly between vehicles like a fish.
The buildings on both sides rushed past her in her field of vision at a speed she had never felt before!
Yoko Okino clung tightly to Lin Shen's waist, pressing her entire body against his back. Her panicked voice came through the helmet's communication system: "Mr...Mr. Lin! It was too fast!!"
Lin Shen's voice came through the helmet communicator, tinged with obvious amusement: "This is nothing! I'm only just over eighty."
When Yoko Okino heard the word "eighty," her heart skipped a beat, and her voice trembled with a hint of tears: "The speed limit in the city is only thirty!! That's already very fast!!"
"That's no fun," Lin Shen chuckled. "I brought you out here to find some excitement."
Yoko Okino watched the cars whizzing past her on either side, feeling her heart pounding in her throat.
She cried out, her voice trembling with emotion, "I felt...I felt it was so exciting!!"
Lin Shen laughed and, instead of slowing down, twisted the accelerator again.
Just as he was speeding along with Yoko Okino, his eyes suddenly caught sight of something on the sidewalk to his right:
A young man wearing a baseball cap suddenly snatched a bag from a girl who was waiting at a red light and then ran away.
The girl froze for a moment, then let out a scream and chased after him for a few steps, but wearing high heels, she couldn't catch up with the robber at all.
Lin Shen's lips curled slightly.
He tilted his head and said into his helmet communicator, "Yoko, do you see that? On your right, there's a robbery going on ahead."
Upon hearing this, Yoko Okino turned to her right and quickly spotted the robber's back. He was clutching a woman's handbag and running frantically along the sidewalk. "I saw him!" she exclaimed.
"Let's go help," Lin Shen said, adjusting the direction. "I'll drive up next to him, and you stop him."
"Huh? How can I stop it?!" Yoko Okino panicked.
Before she could finish speaking, she saw Lin Shen free one hand, holding a black baseball bat, and hand it to her.
He said, "Use this."
Yoko Okino instinctively took the baseball bat, completely dumbfounded.
She didn't know how the other person had produced it, but now she was worried about something else: "Using...using this? Won't it kill someone?"
Yoko Okino's voice trembled as she spoke.
"It's okay! It's just one hit, you won't die!" Lin Shen assured him confidently. "Hurry up and aim, or you'll miss your chance!"
Yoko Okino looked up and saw the robber on her right, the distance between them rapidly closing.
She had no time to hesitate.
Almost instinctively, she raised the baseball bat in her hand, aimed at the robber, and swung it down hard!
Bang.
A dull thud was heard.
Yoko Okino was kind-hearted and ultimately didn't dare to hit him on the head, instead choosing to hit him on the shoulder.
However, because the motorcycle was going very fast, the force of the swing was amplified by the speed of the vehicle, producing a dull thud that sounded painful to hear.
The robber let out a piercing scream, "Agh!" as if he had been hit by an unseen truck. His body swayed and he fell to the ground, the bag in his hand flying out and landing two meters away.
Yoko Okino couldn't help but turn around and take a look.
The robber fell to the ground, clutching his shoulder and writhing in pain; clearly, the blow had broken at least one bone.
The girl who had been robbed caught up, picked up her bag, and bowed deeply in the direction they had gone, muttering something under her breath. Although the sound of the motorcycles drowned out her words, her actions suggested she was expressing gratitude.
Yoko Okino turned around, and a complex emotion—a mixture of tension, excitement, and a tremendous sense of accomplishment—appeared on her beautiful face beneath her helmet!
She never even considered the possibility of someone doing a heroic deed while riding a motorcycle!
Lin Shen exclaimed exaggeratedly, "Amazing, Yoko! You hit the target!!"
"That's right!!" Yoko Okino said with a hint of pride, "Don't let my idol status fool you, I'm actually very good at sports!!"
Lin Shen smiled and asked, "How are you feeling?"
"Yes!! I feel very accomplished!!" Yoko Okino's tone was full of joy.
She was about to say something when, a second later, sirens blared.
Woo-la-woo-la-woo-la—
A police car emerged from a side road behind it, its red and blue police lights on the roof particularly eye-catching.
The police car and motorcycle drove side by side. The window rolled down, revealing the face of a young policewoman in the passenger seat—it was Yumi Miyamoto!
With one hand resting on the car window sill and the other pointing at their still-speeding motorcycle, she shouted in a booming voice, "Hey! Speeding is one thing, but hitting people with a baseball bat?"
"Do you guys think you're riding Road Rash?!"
"Slow down immediately and pull over!"
When Yoko Okino saw the female traffic police officer calling out names, her expression instantly fell.
Her voice was filled with frustration: "Oh no, Mr. Lin, we've been pulled over by the traffic police! Let's pull over!"
"Explain what happened to that traffic policewoman...maybe..."
Lin Shen glanced at the police car in the rearview mirror, a slight smirk playing on his lips: "Explain? What's there to explain? Let's talk about it when they catch up with us."
Before he finished speaking, he suddenly twisted the accelerator with his right hand.
The Yamaha's engine let out a high-pitched roar, and the speed instantly soared, with the speedometer jumping directly from eighty to one hundred.
The motorcycle shot forward like an arrow, instantly widening the distance between itself and the police car behind it.
Inside the police car, Yumi Miyamoto saw that the motorcycle not only didn't slow down but accelerated away. Far from being angry, she was delighted: "Run? You think you can escape my grasp?"
"Miaozi, chase after her! Don't let her get away!!"
"Okay, senior!" Miike Naeko, who was in the driver's seat, had a round, baby-faced appearance. She smiled cutely and spoke softly, but her movements of shifting gears and stepping on the gas were exceptionally swift and decisive.
The police car roared to life and followed without hesitation, tailing the motorcycle in front of it.
