Warm medicine emits fragrance

Chapter 161 I remembered, I'm very rich.

When Fan Liuer woke up, it was still dark. The candles she lit before going to bed had burned out, and the room was pitch black.

She opened her eyes for a while in the darkness before she could barely see anything.

Before her was Li Chenbi's profile; she rested her head on his arm, held by one of his arms.

Fan Liuer looked at Li Chenbi; he was still asleep, his eyes tightly closed. The light was too dim for Fan Liuer to see the expression on Li Chenbi's face, and she didn't know whether he was sleeping soundly or not.

However, judging from his calm breathing, he must be feeling better.

Having gone to bed early last night, Fan Liuer was wide awake now, and with her stomach growling with hunger, she decided not to sleep any longer. She gently pulled away from Li Chenbi's hand and tried to sit up from the bamboo bed.

She had only lifted halfway up her body when a force came from her shoulder and pressed her back down.

"Where to!"

She pressed herself firmly against Li Chenbi, causing him to groan softly, prompting her to hurriedly look up at him.

"Are you alright..."

In the dimly lit room, facing his dark eyes, the emotions in them were so complex that Fan Liuer even doubted whether the person in front of her had actually lost his memory.

She narrowed her eyes and tentatively asked, "You remembered?"

Li Chenbi took a deep breath, and his mind began to work again. He had fallen asleep and was awakened by Fan Liuer's actions.

Sensing that she was about to leave, I did it instinctively.

Now, facing Fan Liuer's questioning, he remembered the lie he had told earlier.

"It seems I've remembered something," he said softly.

Fan Liuer looked a little nervous, as if she had remembered something.

What came to mind?

Was he remembering his own identity, or was he remembering her escape?

"Uh... what came to mind?"

"I'm very rich," Li Chenbi said.

"Uh... anything else?"

"That's all."

Fan Liuer paused for a moment before confirming with him, "That's all?"

"Hmm." Saying these few words seemed to have exhausted all of Li Chenbi's strength, and his voice began to sound lazy and weak.

Fan Liuer propped herself up with her hands and looked at him. "Nothing else? Your background, your family, you can't remember any of that?"

Li Chenbi shook his head slightly, then realized that the room was too dark and she might not be able to see him shake his head, so he responded softly, "No."

Fan Liuer breathed a sigh of relief. It was good that he hadn't thought of anything else. If he had, given Li Chenbi's temper, she was really afraid he would have turned the place upside down.

Her sigh of relief was so loud that it was hard for Li Chenbi not to notice, and he felt a little uneasy.

So scared?

It seems you know you've betrayed me.

Feeling uncomfortable, he wanted to upset Fan Liuer.

You lied to me.

Fan Liuer's anger flared up again halfway through, "Didn't you say you didn't remember?"

Li Chenbi pressed down on her back with his hand, his breath weak and feeble. "I have money, how could I possibly be a servant you bought? You're the one I bought..."

He took a breath before slowly speaking, "A bed warmer, perhaps."

Fan Liuer: "..."

Why is this person suffering from amnesia instead of having their brain damaged from being overheated?

She really doesn't like people who are too quick-witted.

They're not easily fooled!

Pulling her hand away from Li Chenbi's, Fan Liuer sat up on the bamboo bed. "What nonsense are you talking about? You don't even have a single coin on you right now. How could you afford me?"

"Remember this, I am now your master. What I say goes. If you don't believe me, you can leave on your own."

After saying that, she was about to get out of bed.

Li Chenbi couldn't keep up with her speed and could only grab a piece of her hem.

"where did you go!"

"I'm hungry, cook!" Fan Liuer said irritably, pulling out her clothes and bending down to put on her shoes.

Li Chenbi felt at ease after hearing this answer.

It's not enough to just leave.

This conversation had exhausted him again, and he was feeling drowsy and wanted to fall asleep, but Fan Liuer's departure made him feel hot again.

It was the height of summer, and the temperature was already high. He had endured the heatstroke during the day, but it hadn't completely subsided; he was just more sensitive to the heat than usual.

The lack of ice in the room made him feel even worse.

Fan Liuer was doing something, and her footsteps could be heard in the room.

Li Chenbi wanted to call out to her so she could come to him and be held in his arms.

Just as I gathered my strength and was about to speak, I heard the sound of the window being opened, and the next moment, a cool river breeze wafted into the room.

The river breeze caressed Li Chenbi's skin, briefly relieving some of the heat in his body and making him feel less tormented.

He looked towards the window, where Fan Liuer was opening all the windows.

She had her back to him, and the moonlight streaming in made her figure clear.

Fan Liuer was afraid of the cold, and even in the summer, she would not sleep with the windows open at night. These windows were opened specifically for him.

With this thought in mind, Li Chenbi felt much more comfortable.

My eyelids couldn't hold on any longer and slowly closed.

Fan Liuer pushed open and secured the windows to ensure they wouldn't be blown shut by the river wind before turning to look at the person on the bamboo bed.

By the moonlight, I could barely make out the face on the bed.

With her eyes closed, she seemed to have fallen asleep again.

Fan Liuer glanced at it twice, then looked away and walked towards the door of the house.

She's starving!

After preparing some food for herself, she started brewing Li Chenbi's medicine.

This medicine is definitely not as effective as the medicine Li Chenbi used to drink, so why not drink it several times a day?

I don't know if it's okay, or if it will cause any problems.

Fan Liuer was conflicted. She didn't understand pharmacology and didn't dare to take Li Chenbi to the clinic.

How about we try it for two days first?

Hmm... these medicines are all fairly common. If I take them for a few days, they shouldn't cause any problems, right?

After struggling with the decision for a long time, Fan Liuer finally decided to ask a pharmacist for advice.

After she finished breakfast, she fed the lukewarm medicine to the sleeping Li Chenbi, and then changed the dressings on his wounds. Just as she finished doing all this, it was dawn, and she took the medicine bag and went out to look for him.

She still didn't dare go to the clinic, so she found a schoolteacher in town who knew a little about medicine and usually treated minor ailments like headaches and fevers.

It wasn't far from where she lived; Fan Liuer had accompanied Siqing to his place before to see a doctor for diarrhea.

When she arrived, class had not yet started; the teacher was in the classroom organizing the essays submitted by the students the previous day.

Fan Liuer leaned against the window and waved to him, "Mr. Wen, Mr. Wen."

Wen Zhishu turned his head and saw that it was Fan Liuer. He walked to the window with a puzzled look on his face.

"Madam Fan? You've come looking for me?"

Fan Liuer first handed over the breakfast she had bought on her way, and only after Wen Zhishu subconsciously took it did she explain her purpose.

"Mr. Wen, I've recently been studying medicine on my own and have prepared a prescription, but I'm not sure if it's safe to drink, so I've come to ask you for advice."

Looking at the extra breakfast in his hand, and then listening to Fan Niangzi's words, Wen Zhishu couldn't help but chuckle.

"Madam Fan, you're too kind. If you have any questions, just ask. There's no need to be so polite."
