Warm medicine emits fragrance

Chapter 275 If it could make him so angry he dies, that would be even more interesting.

Fan Liuer stayed in the army camp.

Previously, she had to stay secretly, and each time she came to Li Chenbi's tent, she had to wait until dark before she could arrive.

Now she stayed directly by Li Chenbi's side, eating and living with him every day. He took her with him wherever he went, even when discussing war with Yan Qi.

Everyone in the military camp knew Li Chenbi's temper: unpredictable, violent, and ruthless. He even dared to lose his temper in front of Yan Qi. But after this short, fat servant appeared by his side, it was obvious that his temper had improved considerably.

Adding to the fact that Li Chenbi had held this servant in his arms last time, people were spreading rumors that Li Chenbi was a homosexual and had unusual tastes, preferring dark-skinned, fat, and short men rather than handsome ones.

When these rumors reached Fan Liuer's ears, she held a mirror and looked at herself for a long time.

She admitted that she didn't look good at all; her skin was dark and yellow, and she was fat and short, but she wasn't as bad as people said.

What does "short stump" mean?

"Why are you looking in the mirror for so long today?" Li Chenbi sat down next to her, took the mirror from her hand, and looked at himself.

Fan Liuer leaned closer, and the mirror reflected their faces pressed together.

A face so handsome it was almost unrealistic; compared to this, Fan Liuer's plain-looking face instantly looked much uglier.

This made her even more unhappy.

"They all say I'm short and fat," she muttered discontentedly.

Li Chenbi put down the mirror, hugged her, and said, "Who said that? I'll tear their mouth off!"

Fan Liuer was just complaining and didn't really want Li Chenbi to cause trouble for others, but hearing what Li Chenbi said made her feel much better.

"Never mind, I'm short and fat anyway."

As she spoke, she turned her head and stared at Li Chenbi's face, "It's all your fault. Why do you have to be so good-looking? If you were uglier, people wouldn't keep staring at my appearance."

Li Chenbi stared at Fan Liuer's face, looking her up and down. "You're quite interesting. You look honest and simple, easy to bully."

Fan Liuer pouted, "That's just your opinion. Others just think I'm ugly."

Li Chenbi raised an eyebrow slightly upon hearing this. It wasn't a matter of just a day or two that he had become good-looking, and Fan Liuer hadn't only just realized it now.

But she had never thought about her appearance before.

He knew Fan Liuer well; she was the most open-minded person and never made things difficult for herself. Even if she stood next to a woman who looked like a fairy, she would not feel inferior but would instead admire the other woman's appearance.

Besides, the reason she's said to be ugly is because she's disguised, not because her original appearance was unattractive.

Given her personality, she shouldn't have done that.

Li Chenbi knew Fan Liuer too well; he could trace the origins of her every move and every thought.

After a moment's thought, he understood.

Fan Liuer didn't care before because she didn't like him that much back then, and she hadn't thought about a future with him.

She doesn't care about him as a person, so why would she care about what others say about whether their appearances match?

But things are different now. She likes him and cares about him, which is why she cares about what others say.

That's why they care whether the two people are a good match.

He felt a little happy; these were all proof that Fan Liuer loved him. She was also beginning to feel uneasy about this relationship, just like him.

However, he couldn't show his happiness; if he did, she would get angry.

"That's because they don't know how to appreciate things. They're a bunch of people with no taste. They only know how to look at appearances. They're extremely vulgar."

"Unlike me, who has a discerning eye and was immediately attracted to your beauty the first time I saw you."

Fan Liuer couldn't deny that Li Chenbi's words were a bit glib, but she liked listening to them.

Suppressing a smile, she feigned composure and said, "You have a point."

Li Chenbi couldn't resist any longer. He liked Fan Liuer's appearance and kissed her hard.

"Hey, hey, hey!" Fan Liuer blocked his way, "Don't kiss off my makeup!"

Fan Liuer's troubles were thus resolved, but before Li Chenbi could even breathe a sigh of relief, an even bigger problem arose.

Holding Fan Liuer, Li Chenbi was just about to get intimate with her when Li Qiuping's voice rang out from outside the tent.

"Lord Qi, you cannot go in."

"I need to speak with Li Chenbi," Qi Weiming's voice came through.

Li Chenbi immediately frowned, his face full of disgust.

"Why is he here again?"

He held onto Fan Liuer tightly, showing no intention of paying her any attention.

Fan Liuer pushed him away, "Let him in, otherwise rumors will spread again."

She could guess what would be circulating outside: Qi Weiming couldn't enter the tent when he came to see Li Chenbi, which meant that Li Chenbi was doing something unspeakable with that short, fat man inside the tent.

She didn't want to hear those words again.

Li Chenbi reluctantly released Fan Liuer and called out towards the outside of the tent, "Let him in."

Li Qiuping gave way, and Qi Weiming lifted the tent flap and entered the tent, ignoring Li Chenbi and focusing his gaze on Fan Liuer.

"Liu'er, look what I brought you." He held up his hand, carrying a big, fat, snow-white rabbit.

Seeing this, Fan Liuer got up and walked towards him, "Did you hunt this?"

Qi Weiming smiled smugly, "Yes, we met it on the way back to the barracks. I figured you must be tired of eating the barracks food every day, so I hunted it back for you to treat yourself. This rabbit is fat, and its fur is warm. I'll make you a fur collar from it. Winters in the north are much colder than in Xingzhou."

Before Fan Liuer could speak, Li Chenbi sneered, "Just a rabbit, is she worth your fawning over?" With that, he pulled Fan Liuer close, his hand stroking the mink scarf on her collar. "Do you think she needs the junk you bring?"

Qi Weiming looked at the mink fur on Fan Liuer's neck, then at the rabbit in his hand, and his face darkened.

"You think you're so great just because you have money."

Qi Weiming stared at Li Chenbi for a couple of seconds, then pointed at him and said, "Fine, you wait." With that, he led the rabbit and turned to leave the tent.

Li Chenbi won against Qi Weiming once again, smiled smugly, and turned to raise an eyebrow at Fan Liuer.

Fan Liuer shook her head, too lazy to pay him any attention.

She used to try to mediate when the two of them argued, but now she's too lazy to do it anymore. It's no use anyway; whenever the two of them meet, it's like a clash of titans.

Sometimes she even felt that the two of them just wanted to argue, and she was just an excuse for them to fight.

"You two are practically halfway to the grave, yet you act like toddlers every day. Is that really necessary?" she said helplessly.

Li Chenbi smiled and said, "This is interesting. It's most interesting to see him so angry but unable to do anything to me."

"It would be even more interesting if we could infuriate him to death."
