The Dragon Form ranks first among the twelve forms of Xingyi Quan, emphasizing rising, falling, stretching, and contracting.

Rising like a dragon ascending to the heavens, falling like lightning striking the earth. The dragon-shaped energy flows along the spine; with a tremor of the tailbone, the force pushes upwards vertebra by vertebra, exploding suddenly at the cervical vertebrae, causing the whole person to spring up.

In the early years of the Republic of China, when Xingyi Quan master Li Cunyi was teaching boxing in Tianjin, he once used the Dragon-shaped Beng Jin (a type of explosive force) to send a 200-jin (100 kg) stone lock flying three steps away from within three inches.

Chen Hongwu's leap from his seat was as powerful and fast as Li Cunyi's Stone Lock back then.

His forehead almost grazed the gun barrel, less than an inch away. If he had been just a fraction slower, the barrel would have pierced his forehead.

The moment his body sprang up, Chen Hongwu's right hand emerged from the center line, his five fingers joined together, his knuckles bulging, and the veins on the back of his hand clearly visible. He was using the "piercing palm" technique from Baguazhang.

The palm strike travels along the center line, going upwards from the chest, with the force concentrated at the fingertips.

The Baguazhang manual says, "It pierces the palm like a snake's tongue, and penetrates the bone as soon as it touches the clothes," emphasizing speed and accuracy.

Chen Hongwu's palm strike, from start to finish, took only a snap of the fingers, the tip of his palm precisely striking the bearded man's Adam's apple.

The moment the fingertip strikes the Adam's apple, the force penetrates from the finger bone, travels along the thyroid cartilage, and reaches the cervical spine.

The sound of his Adam's apple cracking was muffled and crisp, like stepping on an eggshell.

The bearded man's eyes widened, and he let out a muffled "hoarse" sound as blood gushed from his mouth.

Chen Hongwu's left hand came up from below at almost the same time, with his palms moving up and down.

Xingyiquan - Tiger Pounce!

Tiger Pounce is one of the most powerful moves in the twelve forms of Xingyi Quan. It is inspired by a tiger pouncing on its prey. Both palms are thrust out simultaneously, and the force is generated from the heels all the way to the palms, delivering a unified burst of power. The boxing manual says, "Tiger Pounce is like thunder, a single strike can kill," referring to the explosive power of this move.

He slapped both palms onto the bearded man's chest at the same time, the force penetrating from his palms, passing through his sternum, his heart and lungs, and reaching his back.

With a "crack," the bearded man's sternum collapsed, and he was sent flying backward, his feet leaving the ground. The machine gun slipped from his hand, tumbled twice in the air, and landed in the passageway.

The bearded man's back collided with the two robbers behind him, and the three of them fell backward, crashing into a narrow table and shattering teacups and teapots on the floor.

The robbers at both ends of the carriage then realized what was happening, and simultaneously turned their machine guns towards Chen Hongwu. But they didn't have time to pull the trigger.

Chen Hongwu's body had already lunged forward.

As soon as the bushy beard flew out, he took a step forward with his right foot, his sole touching the ground, using the "mud-walking step" from Baguazhang.

He was like an arrow released from a bow, leaning forward with his center of gravity extremely low, almost touching the ground.

Like a mudfish gliding along the ground, it moved so fast that it was impossible to see how it moved.

In the blink of an eye, he appeared in front of the two robbers holding machine guns at the front of the carriage.

Three meters is a distance that can be covered in a single step. The lower the body crouches, the faster it leaps. In Xingyi Quan, this is called "Tiger Step," which refers to the moment a tiger crouches low to approach its prey before pouncing.

Chen Hongwu sprang up from his low position, extending both hands simultaneously.

He attacked from the center, his body not swaying from side to side, but thrusting straight into the gap between the two robbers. His left hand formed a claw, fingers spread, gripping the head of the robber on the left.

"laugh!"

Chen Hongwu's claw slammed down, his five fingers digging directly into the robber's scalp. His palm struck the top of the head, the force penetrating the skull and reaching deep into the brain. The robber didn't even utter a sound before his body went limp and he collapsed, leaving five bloody holes in his head.

At the same time, his right hand swung out from his waist, his body fell to the ground, and his right leg swept horizontally.

Foot thrust and whip kick!

Chuojiao is a Northern style of leg technique that emphasizes "the hands are like two doors, but the legs are the only means of striking."

The power of the whip kick originates from the hip, causing the entire leg to swing out like a whip, with the knee not bending and the bones in the instep as hard as iron.

The kick swept across the other robber's knee, and with a "crack," his knee bent in the opposite direction, the bone breaking cleanly. He screamed and fell to one side, firing a burst of bullets into the air from his machine gun, the bullets creating a row of holes in the metal roof.

Before the man had even fully fallen to the ground, Chen Hongwu had already rolled over and slapped him on the temple with his backhand.

The temple is one of the thinnest parts of the human body, with only a thin layer of skull there, beneath which lies the temporal artery and a large number of nerves.

When Baguazhang strikes this spot with its penetrating palm technique, it doesn't require much force; as long as the energy penetrates, it can shatter the temporal bone and cause internal skull damage.

"Hmm!"

Baguazhang - Sky-Supporting Palm!

The force originates from the heel of the palm and strikes upwards. The jaw is one of the most vulnerable joints in the human body. Once the temporomandibular joint is subjected to an upward impact, the force will be transmitted directly to the base of the skull, knocking the person unconscious or even killing them.

The robber's chin was lifted sharply upwards by the palm strike, his upper and lower teeth collided, three of his front teeth broke, and he fell backwards to the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood.

Before he could retract his palm, his body had already spun halfway around.

Using the momentum of his waist twist, he thrust his left elbow out horizontally, the tip of which struck the robber on the right in the chest.

Bajiquan - Top Elbow!

The elbow is one of the hardest joints in the human body. Bajiquan is particularly good at using the elbow, hence the saying "Bajiquan elbow, Piguazhang".

The "Heart-Piercing Elbow" strikes the solar plexus, its force penetrating through the sternum and ribs, directly impacting the heart and potentially causing sudden cardiac arrest.

The robber's chest caved in from the elbow, his eyes widened, his mouth gaped open, and he fell backward, unable to catch his breath.

In the blink of an eye, two of the four robbers were gone.
