Early in the morning, Wu Sui rubbed his sore lower back and slowly got out of bed.

Chen Xue was folding clothes by the bed with her back to him, her fair neck still flushed.

"This bed frame is so shabby, I'll have to replace it with a Simmons mattress later." Wu Sui rubbed his lower back.

Chen Xue gave him a reproachful look and stuffed the folded clothes into the wardrobe.

"Get up quickly, your older brother and sister-in-law have probably already eaten."

After washing up, Wu Sui strolled over to the old house.

As soon as I entered the courtyard, I smelled the aroma of seafood porridge.

Wang Feng was carrying two small dishes out of the kitchen when she saw Wu Sui holding her back and walking unsteadily. Her eyebrows immediately furrowed.

"Oh, so the second brother actually decided to get up?" Wang

Feng slammed the plate down on the octagonal table with a loud thud.

"Good morning, sister-in-law." Wu Sui pulled out a long bench and sat down, reaching for a steamed bun on the table.

"Early what? The sun's already high in the sky!" Wang Feng slapped his hand away impatiently. "Go wash your hands!"

Wu Sui awkwardly withdrew his hand.

Wang Feng looked him up and down, then pursed her lips.

"So young, and you can't even walk steadily."

"Running out late at night, Xiaoxue is always worried about you and has to take care of you."

"Take it easy, don't break a bone or fall apart, or your whole family will have to take care of you."

The words may be rough, but they make sense. Wu Sui understood that his sister-in-law was concerned, so he didn't make a fuss.

"Sister-in-law is right." He chuckled, washed his hands at the well, and returned to the table.

"I'm thinking of having another big, healthy boy soon."

"Stop being so cheeky!" Wang Feng served him a large bowl of seafood porridge, which was filled with oysters and shrimp.

"Eat more to nourish yourself, lest you collapse in the wind."

Wu Gang walked out of the main room, holding several tied-up longline fishing lines in his hand.

"Second brother, hurry up and eat. After we finish, we'll go to town to find Lin Tao."

"Okay, have you eaten, big brother?"

"I've already eaten, I've been waiting for you."

After eating and drinking their fill, the two brothers rode their old, dilapidated bicycle straight to town.

Chen Yang stood at the door watching the two leave pitifully, looking like an abandoned puppy.

When we arrived at Lin Tao's seafood stall, Lin Tao was directing his employees to move goods into the cold storage.

Upon seeing the Wu brothers, Lin Tao closed the account book in his hand and came forward to greet them.

"Hey, Boss Wu, what a rare guest!" Lin Tao offered two cigarettes. "What brings you here so early in the morning?"

Wu Sui took the cigarette and lit it.

"Brother Lin, don't embarrass me. What boss or not boss?"

"What else should we call him if not 'boss'?"

Lin Tao leaned closer and lowered his voice.

"There was quite a commotion at the old Maritime Bureau compound last night. I heard that several police cars went there, and it's been all over town this morning."

Lin Tao's face showed a hint of inquiry.

He had just taken Wu Sui to see that smuggling ship a couple of days ago, and then this happened last night. If it were a coincidence, he would never believe it.

Wu Sui exhaled a smoke ring, his expression unchanged.

"Don't even mention it. My newly bought yard was broken into last night. Luckily, Old Liu was quick-witted and caught the thief."

"Thieves broke in?" Lin Tao was taken aback for a moment, then realized, "They're after that wrecked ship?"

"That's right." Wu Sui slapped his thigh, feigning a bad luck expression.

"When the police investigated, they found contraband hidden under the boat, and as a result, the boat was immediately seized."

Lin Tao gasped.

Contraband?

He personally went aboard that ship to inspect the equipment; if he had accidentally touched something he shouldn't have, he'd probably be in jail right now.

Thinking of this, Lin Tao wiped the cold sweat from his forehead with lingering fear.

"Ah Sui, I owe you a favor." Lin Tao said with lingering fear, "If you hadn't stopped me yesterday, I might have crawled into the hold."

"Brother Lin, you're being too polite," Wu Sui said, going along with it. "However, with this ship blocked, my plans to go to sea are now on hold."

"So I came to see Brother Lin today because I want your help to find another boat, whether it's rented or bought, as long as it can go out to sea immediately."

Lin Tao patted his chest confidently.

"Leave it to me!"

"During the fishing ban, there's nothing else to do but have plenty of idle fishing boats."

"However..." Lin Tao paused, "the paperwork for your yard isn't finished yet, is it?"

"With such a serious incident, will there be any changes at the Maritime Safety Administration?"

Wu Sui nodded: "I was just planning to go to the county maritime bureau to transfer the property with Wang Hai, and also to sound him out."

"Alright then." Lin Tao turned to Wu Gang. "Brother Wu, come with me to the dock. I'll show you some boats in good condition."

"Second brother, be careful on the way to the county," Wu Gang instructed before following Lin Tao.

Wu Sui flagged down a minibus in the town that was going to the county seat.

An hour later, Wu Sui stood outside the gate of the county maritime bureau.

The Maritime Safety Administration building is a five-story building, which must have been built less than two years ago.

Wu Sui walked straight in, found out Wang Hai's office, and went straight up to the second floor.

"Knock knock knock".

Wu Sui knocked on the wooden door with the sign "Asset Management Department" hanging on it.

"Enter."

Wu Sui pushed open the door and went in.

Wang Hai was sitting behind his desk, with a thick stack of documents in front of him and a cigarette in his hand.

When Wang Hai saw Wu Sui come in, he was stunned for a moment, then stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray.

"Wu Sui? What brings you here?"

Wu Sui pulled out a chair and sat down with an air of authority.

"Brother Wang, I'm here today to complete the property transfer procedures, of course."

Wang Hai slumped into a chair, looking utterly helpless.

"Sigh, you know how big the incident was last night, I was so worried about it."

"The transfer of ownership of that courtyard is no problem now, but if you take it over until this case is closed, it will be troublesome."

He glanced outside the door, and seeing no one, he moved closer and whispered his advice.

"Take my advice, brother. You'd better not take over any of the land in this yard."

"I'll refund your money. If you really want it, you can buy it after things have calmed down; maybe you can get a discount then."

Wu Sui looked at Wang Hai with some surprise.

Logically speaking, that courtyard is now a hot potato.

Wang Hai's promise to refund the money shows that he truly considers Wu Sui a friend.

But could Wu Sui really give up this courtyard?

Are you kidding me!

The courtyard he bought for just over 200 million yuan now, he could easily resell it for several times his initial investment in a few years, even if he didn't use it himself.

It would be such a waste to give up this courtyard.

He couldn't guarantee he'd have another chance to snag such a bargain.

"Brother Wang, thank you!" Wu Sui said sincerely.

"Now that this house has been purchased, there's no reason to return it. I'm not shameless enough to let you take the blame for me."

"Don't worry, I don't need it for now. Let it be blocked. It'll be returned to me eventually once this is over."

After saying that, he stood up and said with a smile, "Let's go, let's transfer the property now."
