The dock was bustling with activity in the early morning.

Fishing boats that had gone out to sea returned one after another, fishmongers haggled loudly, and the air was filled with the fishy smell of the sea.

Wu Sui's two small boats slowly sailed into the harbor.

The speed is too slow.

The waterline is almost level with the sea surface, so when a slightly larger wave comes in, the seawater will directly flood the deck.

The sharp-eyed fishermen on the shore quickly noticed something was wrong.

"Look over there, aren't those two small boats about to sink?"

"The water level is so high, it must be leaking, right?"

"What are you yelling about?"

A fishmonger stood on tiptoe to peer at the sea, and after seeing it clearly, he gasped in shock.

"Holy crap, it's full of fish! The deck is piled high with fish!"

As soon as he said that, everyone around him swarmed over.

The ship drew closer and closer.

The morning light shone on the deck, making the pile of mackerel glitter.

The entire dock was instantly in an uproar.

"My goodness, how many pounds does this weigh?"

"They're all mackerel. It's the closed season now. Where did Wu Lao Er get so much of this?"

Lin Tao had already received Wu Sui's message and was waiting at the dock with two of his men.

Seeing the situation of the two boats, he was so excited that his voice was trembling.

"Quick, quick, bring the cable over!"

Lin Tao quickly directed his men to help, "Ah Sui, why are they all mackerel?"

Wu Sui was so tired that he didn't even want to talk. He threw the rope to the people on the shore and sat down heavily on the side of the boat, panting.

"Stop talking nonsense, Brother Tao, hurry up and unload the cargo, or the ship will really sink."

Everyone hurriedly started carrying the fish ashore.

Chen Fugui's boat had just entered the port and was moored not far away.

He stood on his empty deck, watching the bustling scene on Wu Sui's side, his eyes reddening.

Several fishermen who usually hung out with him gathered around.

"Brother Fugui, what kind of incredible luck did Wu Lao Er have? He's never gone out to sea empty-handed."

Chen Fugui gritted his teeth, staring at the baskets of mackerel being carried ashore, and the more he looked, the more something seemed off.

"Bullshit!" Chen Fugui spat.

"Have you ever seen a longline fishing spot that cleanly catches everything? It's all mackerel, not a single other fish!"

The person next to him was taken aback: "Brother Fugui, you mean...?"

"Is that even a question? They must have secretly set up the trawl net in the middle of the night!"

Chen Fugui snorted coldly, his tone sour and tinged with schadenfreude.

"They're using trawls during the fishing moratorium. Just wait, Wu Lao Er's time to suffer."

The group of people muttered amongst themselves and turned to leave.

The amount of work involved in unloading cargo here is astonishing.

Wu Sui originally thought he could rest once he reached the shore, but Lin Tao dragged him along to help carry fish.

Baskets of heavy mackerel were unloaded from the boat and loaded onto tricycles to be transported back to the purchasing station.

After running back and forth more than a dozen times, Wu Sui rubbed his aching back, feeling utterly exhausted.

"Brother Tao, you're a big boss now, how much would it cost to hire a few casual laborers to unload the goods? Why do you insist we carry them ourselves? Are you trying to be so stingy?"

Lin Tao rolled his eyes and retorted as he carried the fish onto the scale.

"Every renovation of the yard costs money. Every little bit saved counts."

"Once we get our own dock ready, the boats can just drive right into the yard, and we won't have to go through all this trouble."

Wu Sui was speechless.

I've never seen Lin Tao so meticulous before. After we started doing business together, he's practically trying to stretch every penny to its limit.

It took more than an hour to weigh it.

Lin Tao held the notebook, his fingers flying across the calculator.

"A total of 11386 catties of mackerel were caught."

He looked up and announced a number.

"Including the ornate lobster in the trap, as well as those blue crabs and conger eels, the total value is 79897 yuan. I'll round it up for you and say 8 yuan."

Chen Yongqiang and Wang Dazhu listened intently, swallowing hard, calculating how much money they would get.

Wu Sui took the stack of cash handed over by Lin Tao and counted out several piles to distribute as dividends to everyone.

"Here you go, Dazhu, Yongqiang, Xiaoyang, this is for you..."

Before he could finish speaking, a sudden screech of brakes came from outside the door.

An enforcement vehicle with the word "Maritime" printed on it was parked at the entrance of the purchasing station.

The car door opened, and four uniformed law enforcement officers walked in with serious expressions.

The team leader looked around and spoke directly.

Who is Wu Sui?

Lin Tao and Wu Gang's expressions changed drastically, and they subconsciously took a step forward.

Wu Sui put the money in her hand into her bag and calmly stepped forward.

"I'm Wu Sui, comrade. What can I do for you?"

The captain, with a stern face, took out a document.

"We have received a report filed under a real name, accusing you of illegally using trawling nets during the fishing moratorium."

"Please cooperate with us now and cooperate with our investigation immediately."

"Illegal trawling?" Wu Gang shouted anxiously.

"Comrade, you've got it wrong. We're using longline fishing, not trawls!"

"Whether it's a trawler or not, we'll know once we check." The captain waved his hand and pointed outside the door. "Please cooperate and take us to the ship for inspection."

"Okay, no problem." Wu Sui stopped Wu Gang, who was about to argue, and was very cooperative.

"The ship is docked at the pier; I'll take you there."

The group returned to the dock in a grand procession.

Law enforcement officers boarded the ship and began searching it inside and out.

Wu Sui stood on the shore, took out a cigarette, lit it, and smoked it unhurriedly.

Wu Gang was furious, his teeth itching: "Ah Sui, who stabbed us in the back? When did we ever use a trawl net?"

"Don't panic." Wu Sui exhaled a smoke ring. "They won't find anything out about things we didn't do."

A dozen minutes later, several law enforcement officers emerged from the cabin.

"Captain, we've checked," a team member reported.

"No trawl nets were found on board, only longlines and... bottom cages."

The captain nodded, walked over to the fish that Wu Sui had left in the cold storage to distribute to the boatmen, and casually looked through them.

"Captain, look, these fish all have obvious hook wounds on their mouths," the team member said, pointing to the fish's mouths.

"It was definitely caught with a fishing hook, not crushed to death by a trawl net."

The law enforcement officers are experienced and can tell the difference between trawled fish and caught fish at a glance.

Fish caught by trawling are squeezed together at the bottom of the net, resulting in severe damage to their scales and easy rupture of their internal organs.

All of Wu Sui's mackerel were intact except for hook wounds on their mouths.

The captain turned around, his expression softening considerably.

"Wu Sui, it seems someone has made a false accusation." The captain closed his notebook.

"You guys are lucky to have encountered such a large school of fish."

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Lin Tao quickly stepped forward, offered him a cigarette, and tried to get closer to him.

Just then, one of the crew members who stayed on the ship to do the final checks suddenly shouted.

"Captain, there are a few fish traps in the corner of the deck!"

Upon hearing this, Wu Gang, Chen Yang, and the others felt their hearts leap into their throats.
