Brooke noticed Chen An approaching and smiled, "Mr. Chen An, what brings you here?"

Chen An said, "I just came to check on things. How's the job as a container auctioneer going?"

Brooke nodded. "I think it's great. It's not as hard as before, but the salary is much higher."

"Moreover, I feel that communicating with these customers easily improves my communication skills and is also a form of learning."

Upon hearing this, Chen An looked at the containers behind him and activated his Eye of Detection. Instantly, the containers emitted their own light, some white, some green, some blue, and one even purple.

This surprised Chen An. Purple items were worth at least 100,000 to 1 million, gold items were worth 1 million to 10 million, and red items were probably worth over 100 million.

This is his initial conclusion.

"Mr. Chen An, are you also interested in container auctions?" Brooke asked.

"Hmm, I'm somewhat interested. You go ahead, I'll take a look."

Upon hearing Chen An's words, Brooke did not press further, but instead pointed to the first container behind him.

"Ladies and gentlemen, these containers only recently arrived at the San Pedro port. No one has claimed them; the owner might be dead or in jail!"

"However, the goods were left behind. The dock needs to recover the freight and labor costs, so today we are preparing to auction these containers. All the procedures are legal and compliant."

Someone in the crowd spoke up.

"Alright Brook, let's get started. I can't wait! I'm going to snag some bargains today. I recently bought a container full of limited-edition cards at the Darrol docks and made a fortune!"

"Hal, you were just lucky. Nobody's lucky all the time."

"Exactly! We've all found bargains before, and no one can make money forever. Of course, the real skill is to consistently make big profits."

These people basically know each other and participate in every container auction, which is also a profession for them.

"Alright, let's begin the auction now." Brooke said, pointing to the container. "It was shipped from Southeast Asia. The seller is a wealthy Chinese businessman who deals in fabrics. The contents inside are likely to be high-end fabrics worth a fortune."

"Starting bid: $1,000; minimum increment: $100!"

As soon as he finished speaking, someone made a timely bid, and the price quickly reached two thousand four hundred US dollars. Chen An looked at the white light emanating from the container and knew that it would not exceed three thousand US dollars at most, otherwise it would be a loss.

He didn't say anything, but waited for the container he wanted.

The price then stopped at three thousand dollars. Some of the remaining people hesitated, while others stood on tiptoe to look at the container, trying to analyze what was inside, but all they could see was darkness.

"I think this container is only worth three thousand dollars, I don't want it," Hal said, shaking his head.

"What if it really is high-end fabric inside?" one person said.

"Hey! You actually believe Brooke's nonsense? If it really is high-end fabric, I'll take the loss, but I'm not willing to gamble."

But then someone raised their hand and called out, "Three thousand five hundred dollars, that's the highest price I can offer. If anyone wants it, keep bidding. I'm not going to bid anymore."

A minute passed, and everyone around fell silent; clearly, no one was bidding anymore.

Brooke smiled and said, "Britton, this container is yours. You can open it now."

He then handed over the tools.

Upon hearing this, Britton reached out and took the tools. He went to the container, feeling nervous. He admitted that there was an element of gambling involved, but if it was high-end fabric, he would still make a profit even if it was only mid-range fabric.

The others looked over curiously, and as Britton pried open the chain and slowly pulled open the container door, the scene inside came into view.

There was a huge pile of fabric, which looked impressive at first glance, but when Britton reached out and touched the fabric, his face turned pale instantly.

Hal also stepped forward to take a look, then shook his head helplessly. "I knew it! How could it be high-end fabric? I didn't expect it to be common fabric on the market. This is worth at most two thousand dollars. Britton, you've lost a lot this time."

"Sigh! What a pity." Britton shook his head helplessly, saying that it was still too idealistic.

Brooke, unfazed, said, "Continue."

As a result, container after container was auctioned off, with some making a profit and others a loss. During this period, the man named Hal was indeed quite capable, managing to snag two bargains.

At this moment, Brooke pointed to the container in front of him and said, "The owner information of this container is confidential, and we don't know what type it is, but it is very heavy, so there is likely a large shipment inside."

Hal replied, "The heaviness is the most dangerous thing. There might only be rocks inside. I once saw someone buy a bunch of rocks and lose everything."

Chen An stood silently to the side. He noticed that the container was emitting a blue light, and it was worth selling for around ten thousand.

"Enough said. The starting bid is $1,000, with each bid increasing by $100."

After the words were spoken, everyone still probed further and looked inside the container. They could see some foam, but they didn't know what was behind it.

"Five thousand dollars!"

A voice rang out, and everyone present froze, their eyes all fixed on Chen An, including Brooke's.

He thought Chen An was just coming to take a look, but he didn't expect him to also bid.

Hal said, "Brother, this container isn't worth five thousand dollars. Did you see something?"

Chen An smiled and said, "It feels pretty good. I'll place an offer and give it a try."

Upon hearing this, everyone looked puzzled. What could this Asian man possibly see that made him raise the price so drastically? Should they also raise their prices?

"Six thousand dollars!" Hal suddenly exclaimed.

Chen An's expression shifted. "Why are you raising the price too? Didn't you say it wasn't worth it?"

Hal said, "I think we have some in stock. You can keep raising the price if you want."

"Six thousand one hundred dollars," Chen An said, ignoring the previous comment.

"Seven thousand dollars," Hal continued to raise the price.

Seeing this, Chen An frowned. He realized that Hal was either going against him or just trying to annoy him.

However, since this container was priced at over ten thousand US dollars, continuing to bid wouldn't result in a loss, so he said, "Eight thousand US dollars."

We'll deal with them later; they dared to cause trouble on his turf.

"Hahaha! Eight thousand dollars? You're insane!" Hal mocked Chen An. "I just raised the price to make you lose more money, but you actually raised it to eight thousand dollars! This Asian guy is a complete idiot!"
