Chapter 201 The Origin of the Silver Coins

The news from Chenlong surprised Chen An for a moment. He muttered to himself, "Kerry Weddell didn't even think about leaving New York, but instead hid in a hotel?!"

He knew things were far more complicated than they appeared, and even if Kerry Weddell was stupid, he knew his position had been exposed.

The fact that he didn't try to leave New York but instead hid in a hotel suggests that the hotel had a backup plan to protect him.

As for whether it's really as he predicted, we'll find out by going and seeing.

Then he summoned Carl.

"Boss, what's the operation?" Karl walked over from a distance, looking curious.

Chen An sat up and asked, "Karl, do you know a place called the Continental Hotel?"

Upon hearing this, Carl frowned, pondering his memories, and then shook his head: "Boss, I don't think I've ever heard of this."

Upon hearing this, he didn't say much, but directly led Carl and Emily out of the hotel and into a taxi.

"Where are you three headed?"

Chen An said, "The Mainland Hotel, you know where it is, right?"

The driver nodded, "I know, I'll take you there right away."

The taxi then drove through the streets of New York, all the way to the easternmost part of Manhattan, where towering buildings lined both sides of the road, resembling a steel forest!

Chen An's knowledge of Manhattan was limited to the fact that the famous Wall Street was located there.

Soon, the taxi pulled over to the side of the road. Turning to Chen An in the back seat, the driver pointed and said, "Sir, this is the Continental Hotel. It's a very old hotel. To be honest, the facilities aren't great, and it's quite eccentric. If you're looking for a hotel, I advise you not to choose this one."

Chen An nodded. "Thanks for the reminder, but we're here to find someone."

He then opened the door and got out of the car, looking at the building in front of him. Its height was no less than that of the surrounding financial buildings, and it was even larger than the hotel where he was staying.

However, the overall style of this hotel is somewhat like architecture from the last century, which speaks of antiquity and mystery.

This made Chen An increasingly curious: why would Kerry Weddell choose this hotel, and what secrets might it hold?

Carl, having also paid, came to his side, his gaze also fixed on the hotel in front of them, and asked, "Boss, what are we doing here?"

"Looking for someone." Chen An said calmly, and then walked towards the mainland hotel. Emily followed quietly by his side, looking around warily, ready to act without hesitation at the slightest sign of trouble.

Passing through a unique metal revolving door, you arrive at the hotel lobby, surrounded by numerous tables where guests are enjoying afternoon tea.

Chen An's arrival attracted the attention of some people, but they quickly looked away.

However, Chen An frowned deeply.

This time, the danger warnings came in frequently, with four people in the entire hall reaching a low to medium threat level and one reaching a high to medium threat level!

Although weaker than Jerome, the level of danger a normal person could pose is not that high. The only explanation is that many of them are not ordinary people.

Chen An smiled faintly. "Interesting."

"What would you like to order?" a waiter asked with a smile.

"I'll have an Americano," Chen An said, then casually found an empty seat and sat down.

"Give me an iced Coke," Carl said.

Emily shook her head. "I don't need it."

A short while later, the waiter returned and placed the coffee and iced cola in front of Chen An and Karl.

He took a sip, glancing around at his surroundings, but couldn't find any trace of Kerry Weddell; he was probably on the upper floors of the hotel.

Suddenly, Chen An's gaze fell on the front desk. The hotel's front desk was occupied by a handsome middle-aged man in a black suit, whose demeanor was in no way inferior to that of the elite members of the upper class.

However, his attention was not on the man, but entirely on the black man he was talking to, or rather, on the silver coin in the man's hand.

It was exactly the same as the one he had received from Chen Qin; this was the first time he had discovered a clue about the silver coin.

Unexpectedly, it happened inside a hotel.

The two men talked for a while, and then the black man handed over the silver coins in his hand, which the receptionist accepted naturally.

The Black man then turned and walked toward the elevator.

Seeing this, Chen An slowly stood up. "Karl, you guys stay here. I'll go ask at the front desk."

"Boss, how can I let you do this yourself? Let me do it," Karl quickly said.

"Need not."

Chen An waved his hand and then walked towards the front desk without looking back. As soon as he reached the front desk, the other person looked up at him.

"Hello sir, it seems you have many questions."

Chen An took the silver coin out of his pocket and pushed it in front of the other person. "I obtained this by chance. What's its use?"

Upon hearing Chen An's direct question, Weston was taken aback. "Sir, this is a currency unique to our mainland hotels."

"If you want to know more, you'll need to spend this silver coin."

"No problem, go ahead." He nodded in agreement without any hesitation.

Upon hearing this, Weston reached out and took the silver coin into his hand, then stepped out from behind the counter and looked at Chen An, "Come with me."

Then walk forward.

Chen An followed closely behind, and the two quickly disappeared from the lobby on the first floor, taking the elevator directly to the fourth floor of the hotel.

He witnessed Weston enter his password and fingerprint before the elevator doors opened, which made Chen An feel like he had discovered something incredible.

As the elevator doors opened, Chen An found himself in a small lobby. His sense of danger told him that there were even more dangerous people inside.

"What's your name?" Weston asked.

"Mark Ann, what about you?" Chen An asked.

"Weston is the butler at the Continental Hotel in New York."

Weston led Chen An deeper into the area. Some people on the surrounding seats remained silent, while others greeted Weston warmly.

"Weston, is there a new player on the team again?"

"An Asian! That's quite rare."

"He looks a bit weak; I wonder how long he can live."

Many people greeted Weston, which shows his connections here.

"Jerome, welcome back!" Weston rarely greeted anyone, and the familiar name made Chen An look over.

Jerome also noticed Chen An.

"Mark Ann! What are you doing here?"

Chen An smiled and said, "What a coincidence, Jerome."

Weston was taken aback and looked at the two of them. "You know each other?"

"We just met recently; we were on the same flight," Jerome said, looking intently at Chen An.

He never expected to run into the other party here. Could the other party also be an assassin from the Mainland Hotel? That shouldn't be the case. Someone who could make him feel troubled couldn't be someone he hadn't heard of.
