As if to confirm Hu Yu's statement, after Zhong Xun and Li Mi finished eating and came out of the restaurant, they were blocked by the Su family's car.

Li Mi, a C-level Alpha with relatively low pheromones, immediately stepped in front of Zhong Xun, shouting back, "What? What do you want?"

The person in charge was a lean middle-aged man with a pair of sinister, slanted eyes, staring intently at Zhong Xun: "Young Master Zhong, don't panic. Our master has invited you over to ask you just a couple of questions."

He was being polite, but seeing the three layers of bodyguards surrounding him, Zhong Xun had no choice but to go.

Zhong Xun wasn't afraid of any of that, but suddenly, as if struck by a flash of inspiration, he took out his phone from his pocket, and Meng Jingting's call came in at that moment.

"Off work?" Zhong Xun's voice was gentle, without a trace of the panic that came with a knife to his neck.

"Are you still in the restaurant?" Meng Jing asked in a low voice.

"Almost there. At the door, the Su family invited me to get in the car," Zhong Xun said.

Meng Jingting: "Give the phone to the other end."

Zhong Xun complied.

The lean, middle-aged man took it with suspicion, but his expression changed drastically when he saw the notes on it.

However, he still didn't believe the rumors circulating that the two had broken off their relationship. At this critical juncture, he thought Meng Jingting would be so resourceful as to know the Su family's plans and intervene in time. But the name "Meng Jingting" carried too much weight, causing him to subconsciously adopt a respectful posture, "You are...?"

"What right do you have to take my Omega away?" Meng Jing asked coldly.

The middle-aged man almost bowed deeply. "That's not it, Mr. Meng. I just brought Young Master Zhong over to ask him a few questions."

"Who approved it?"

The middle-aged man was sweating profusely. He had worked in the Tribunal for half a year, though without a formal position. He failed one of his tests, and being middle-aged, he was eventually dismissed. However, this experience made it much easier for him to find a job, and he had now risen to a position among the Su family's trusted confidants.

"Mr. Meng." The middle-aged man took a deep breath, clearly racking his brains and being very cautious: "Our master gave you TG interference drugs before, and now the young master is insane. He is the only heir in the Su family. We hope you can understand."

Meng Jingting said, "Give the phone to Zhong Xun."

The middle-aged man quickly handed over this hot potato.

Zhong Xun took it and heard Meng Jing say, "Stay where you are and wait for me to come over."

Zhong Xun: "Okay."

Although they were a meter apart, the middle-aged man heard clearly. His previous toughness had vanished, and he simply waited there with Zhong Xun.

Zhong Xun turned to Li Mi and said, "Meng Jingting will be here soon. He'll be fine. You go first."

Li Mi seemed reassured. In his eyes, Meng Jingting was the one who could clean up the mess. Although he didn't know how Brother Zhong had offended the Su family, he should be fine now.

"Okay, Brother Chung, give me a call if you need anything, I'll be there anytime."

"Okay, go ahead," Zhong Xun replied.

As soon as Li Mi left, Zhong Xun stood there playing on his phone.

The middle-aged man squinted as he sized up Zhong Xun.

He has encountered all sorts of people and faced life-or-death situations over the years, yet he still cannot see through Zhong Xun.

Less than ten minutes later, a black car roared in. The space in front of the door wasn't large, but the driver was highly skilled. He executed a beautiful triangular tail swing and even turned around perfectly.

The car window rolled down, revealing Meng Jingting's sharply defined face.

The middle-aged man jogged forward: "Mr. Meng."

"I've already contacted the Su family, and I'll personally take Zhong Xun there."

"That would be perfect, thank you for your help."

This was originally a respectful and polite remark, but upon hearing it, Meng Jingting gave him a puzzled look, as if to say: Do you need to tell me it's troublesome for me to take care of my Omega?

Middle-aged man: "..."

Zhong Xun got into the passenger seat.

The car window rolled up, completely obscuring those irritating faces, and Meng Jing stepped on the gas.

Less than a kilometer after driving, Meng Jingting activated the autopilot. He didn't shy away from Zhong Xun, tapping and typing on the central display screen. Soon, the middle-aged man's information appeared on the screen.

Zhong Xun asked in surprise, "Does the tribunal have that much power now?"

"No, I think he looks familiar." Meng Jingting explained, "He used to work as an external assistant in the Trial Court, so his file is complete."

Zhong Xun casually asked, "Was it because you're too old that you weren't given a permanent position?"

"The data department still has a staff member who's sixty years old," Meng Jing heard. "He failed a single test."

"Um?"

"Loyalty".

Meng Jingting drove to the private hospital under the Su family's name, where the third to sixth floors were completely cleared out to serve Su Shengjie alone.

Before arriving at the hospital, Meng Jingting finally spoke: "You really didn't see Qi Tian at his engagement?"

"I've met you." Zhong Xun replied without hesitation.

Meng Jing tightened his grip on the steering wheel.

Zhong Xun leaned against the car door with one arm, and after a brief silence, turned to look at Meng Jingting: "Are you still wondering if Su Shengjie's current state has anything to do with me?"

"What's it to you?"

Zhong Xun could say it was okay without batting an eye; he made no difference between human and ghost language. But the smile on Zhong Xun's lips faded, and a faint self-mockery flashed in his eyes.

With a sudden stop, Su Family Hospital was right to the right.

Meng Jing looked over and stared directly into Zhong Xun's eyes, as if trying to forcefully extract the truth he wanted.

He asked again, "What does this have to do with you?"

This problem would never have arisen before. The puppet would either remain silent or admit defeat, either way, because he didn't want to waste words with Meng Jingting. But Zhong Xun's silence for the past few minutes, coupled with the recent changes, suddenly stirred up an impulse in Meng Jingting.

Will he really realize his mistake?

Will it be...

"Meng Jingting," Zhong Xun said softly, "it seems the Tribunal's impartiality has already seasoned you."

Meng Jing froze upon hearing this, as if he had received an answer. When he looked away, his eyelashes trembled slightly, and then he completely suppressed his emotions and became the serious and decisive judge once again.

As Meng Jingting was getting off the bus, her arm was grabbed.

He didn't turn around.

Maintaining that position, Zhong Xun spoke: "Su Shengjie's behavior has something to do with me. That day on the back slope, he first said a lot of threatening things, and then seemed very interested in my pheromones..."

Before he could finish speaking, Meng Jing suddenly turned around.

Zhong Xun smiled and continued, "To protect myself, I'll use some special methods. Is that alright?"

Zhong Xun didn't explain exactly how he did it, but the Su family saw Meng Jingting's car and came over, so the conversation had to be stopped.

After Zhong Xun got out of the car, he walked to Meng Jingting's side. Just as he reached the sixth floor, he heard a woman sobbing. Zhong Xun almost thought he had returned to the "miasma" he had encountered before.

It was Su Shengjie's mother. She had just finished a phone call with someone, and her eyes were swollen like walnuts from crying. Hearing the noise, she turned around and looked. She was naturally familiar with Meng Jing. Then she saw Zhong Xun standing next to her. After a moment of reaction, Su's mother suddenly became agitated, her high heels clattering on the ground. She took a few steps to Zhong Xun and demanded, "Did you harm my son?!"

Meng Jingting stood in front of Zhong Xun, letting the Su family rush up to block Su's mother, and said in a deep voice, "Calm down."

"My son has gone mad, he doesn't recognize anyone! The security camera caught you that day, how dare you say my son's condition has nothing to do with you? You despicable Omega, what are you doing stopping me? Are you all just freeloaders? Arrest him!" Su's mother, her nails painted scarlet, pointed at Zhong Xun: "Search his memories, I refuse to believe there won't be any results!"

The Su family members looked at each other in bewilderment upon receiving the order. The next second, an invisible suppression force swept out in a ring.

The scene fell into dead silence. Both Alphas and Omegas turned pale and dared not look at the black figure.

"Memory search?" Meng Jing repeated in a low voice, "Isn't that done to criminals?"

Ordinary people, even those from prestigious families, would never have such a right on the surface.

Su's mother seemed to wake from a dream, her face turned deathly pale, and she trembled, unable to speak.

"Getting angry is bad for your health, Madam," Zhong Xun said with a slight smile.

His voice was like a gentle breeze, but Su's mother felt a strange sense of unease, as if the dust had finally settled.

The woman looked up and saw Zhong Xun turn around and give her a perfect, mocking smile.
