The next morning, the computer kept ringing with communication requests, and Xu Ran groggily reached out to answer them.

"My lord, I think it's time for you to get up and have breakfast." Finn's voice, tinged with laughter, came through the personal terminal, with a hint of teasing.

Xu Ran suddenly opened her eyes. Sunlight from outside the window shone through the gap in the curtains onto the quilt. When did Finn get out of bed?

Xu Ran quickly dressed and mumbled, "Why didn't you wake me up when you got up?"

Finn smiled and said, "I think perhaps you should get some more rest."

After all, the military starts work too early, while the ruler went to bed too late last night.

Xu Ran walked out of the bedroom in her slippers. There were snacks on the dining table in the living room and porridge was heating in the kitchen. Finn had to get up at least at six to prepare all this before he started work at seven.

Xu Ran took a bowl of porridge and complained softly, "You don't need to prepare breakfast for me since I'm going to work so early."

He's not a lazy, good-for-nothing male!

As soon as Xu Ran came out of the kitchen, she saw that the little system had somehow gotten to the dining table and was secretly munching on a pastry.

Xu Ran paused, then said to Finn on the other end of the computer, "You go ahead and get busy, I'll wait for you for dinner tonight."

He then hung up the call, walked towards the system with a half-smile, and tapped on the table.

The system suddenly jumped up, took a half step back while holding the snacks, and before it could escape back into the space, it was picked up by Xu Ran.

He gritted his teeth: "I haven't eaten yet."

I didn't eat a single bite!

The system struggled to break free, yet stubbornly clung to the pastry.

There's still a whole plate left! Such a stingy host QAQ.

Xu Ran felt extremely wronged. Finn made each pastry into a different shape, making each one unique!

The system was holding a piece shaped like a little rabbit, but now, that little rabbit has lost both ears.

"Didn't you sneak a lot of desserts at the banquet yesterday?"

Xu Ran questioned the traitor within his own household.

"And you just bought the latest cherry-flavored data strip two days ago! Using my points!"

A full twenty points!

The system finally seemed a little guilty, nudging Xu Ran's hand: "Host, don't be angry... Shall I treat you to a data bar?"

Xu Ran: "..."

He doesn't eat any data bars.

Finn sat in his office, a screen in front of him glowing with a faint blue light. The major general's face was serious, but what was on his screen was not some important military news, but rather a chat forum on StarNet.

[OP: Good heavens, I really don't know if that female insect I met last night, Mr. Xu Ran, can still get married? I've completely lost interest in other male insects now!]

  Remember us, 101kanshu.com

First floor: OP, I understand you. I was distracted at work all day. General Finn is about to become the most envied female insect again.

Third floor: I felt sorry for Major General Finn when he broke off the engagement, but he actually became Lord Xu Ran's mistress (no disrespect intended for the Major General). But the Major General's appearance is not perfect, so it's a bit of a stretch for him to be with Lord Xu Ran.

Fourth floor: Lord Xu Ran doesn't have a female servant yet. I'm really curious about what his pheromones taste like. The pheromones of an S-class male insect must be very delicious.

Fifth floor: What you said upstairs is already suspected of sexually harassing male insects, be careful you don't get investigated (I guess it's a strong, rich rose scent).

Sixth floor: Agree with fifth floor, fourth floor be careful entering the control room (I think it smells like romantic, intoxicating lavender).

OP: The topic upstairs is making me a little scared, so I'm closing the thread. (I'm guessing it's the calm and reserved Zhu Xiang.)

Finn pursed his lips as he finished reading the post. After last night's banquet, the male lord would only become more sought after, his pheromones...

None of them are correct. The male's pheromones smell like mint, refreshing and cool, and a little...stimulating.

The adjutant knocked and entered. Finn closed the post, slightly raised his eyes, and gestured for him to speak.

The adjutant placed the documents he was holding on his desk: "Major General, all the military affairs of the Third Army during this period are here."

Finn nodded slightly. "You can leave now."

The adjutant's expression was complex. After hesitating for a moment, he finally asked, "Major General, is your lord treating you well? Are you injured?"

When Sir Simon broke off the engagement, the Major General's mental state went berserk. He really thought the Major General was going to die. But things took an unexpected turn. But the male insect... the male insect is inherently wicked.

Finn paused for a moment, then his gaze softened: "The Lord has treated me very well. I'm sorry for making you worry during this time."

The adjutant was still a little puzzled as he left the room. Was it just his imagination? The major general's face seemed slightly red.

Finn flipped through the military documents. Nothing major had happened since he left, and he estimated that he would be able to take back all the work in about a week.

But when he saw a record from not long ago, his brow suddenly furrowed.

"The first squad was attacked during a patrol. Attacker: Bird-like mutant, unaffected by laser attacks, species unknown, and a minor. Casualties: 0."

Finn hesitated for a moment, then sent a message to his adjutant: Come over here.

The adjutant rushed over, and Finn handed him the record, asking succinctly, "Is there a detailed battle log?"

The adjutant nodded: "Yes, Major General. Is there a problem?"

"The laser attack was ineffective; didn't you raise any concerns at the time?"

The lieutenant was taken aback, and cautiously replied, "It was reported to General Ellis at the time, but there was no follow-up."

An attack by a juvenile bird or beast, without causing any casualties, clearly did not attract the attention of the busy general.

Finn looked at the combat log and saw that not only were the laser attacks ineffective, but the mental energy had also caused negligible damage. Although this bird-like mutant was no match for the fleeing enemy, it only suffered minor injuries from the mental energy attack of the A-level female soldier.

This is getting a bit complicated.

Finn pointed in the direction the bird-beast had fled: "Investigate it immediately."

The adjutant asked, "Should we report to the general?"

"There's no need to report to the general anymore," Finn said, raising his eyes. "I will report to His Highness the Crown Prince myself."

General Ellis of the Third Army may not have been unaware of what it meant for a mutant to be able to ignore laser attacks, but rather he simply lacked the energy to care anymore.

General Ellis's master recently acquired two extremely favored female servants, and has not given him pheromones for a long time.

Is this the fate of female insects? Finn slowly closed his eyes.

He had no time to comment on the fate of the other female insects. After all, before meeting Xu Ran, the best fate he could imagine was dying on the battlefield or being buried in the boundless sea.

Judging that it was almost time for her to get off work, Xu Ran started cooking.

He was very familiar with the kitchen; he knew it so well that he could find everything with his eyes closed.

Tender chicken sizzles in hot oil, releasing a rich and fragrant aroma.

The system floated beside them, its eyes fixed intently on the meat in the pot.

Xu Ran sneered: "You're not getting any today."

His little bunny treats! He didn't eat a single bite!

The system cries out: You bad host!
