The host and the protagonist had a happy ending again [Quick Transmigration]

Chapter 85 I'm not going to be a sugar daddy anymore, okay?

Both of them were exhausted last night, so they went home, took a shower, and went to bed.

As Xu Ran drifted off to sleep, she felt a cool hand gently brush aside her hair and place a light, soft kiss on her forehead.

They parted at the slightest touch, like a stray cat cautiously probing.

Xu Ran reached out and pulled the person next to her into her arms, touched their cheek, and fell peacefully asleep.

When Xu Ran woke up, she felt refreshed and instinctively reached out to grab something, but found nothing.

He straightened up and looked around. The familiar room had the curtains drawn tightly, not letting in a single ray of light. It was arranged perfectly for sleeping, something he hadn't remembered before going to bed.

Turning the doorknob and looking out, I saw a familiar figure sitting on the sofa in the living room, his glasses faintly gleaming blue as he stared at the computer screen.

He was still wearing Xu Ran's striped pajamas.

Xu Ran took her light jacket, quietly stepped forward, and draped it over Pei Jinchen's shoulder.

"When did you wake up?"

Pei Jinchen tugged at his coat, wrapping himself up tightly: "An hour ago."

Xu Ran glanced at the time; it was already afternoon. He asked, "Are you going to the company today?"

Pei Jinchen slowly shook his head, a faint smile in his eyes: "I'll stay with you."

Xu Ran chuckled softly, "Yes, I'm more important than work."

Pei Jinchen paused for a moment at these words. He didn't think work was important. He thought about it seriously and couldn't find anything more important than Xu Ran for the time being.

Pei Jinchen didn't speak. He glanced at the computer screen, felt there was nothing to do, put it on the coffee table, and sat facing Xu Ran with his hands empty, the tips of his ears secretly turning rosy.

Xu Ran paused slightly, noticing a flicker in the light of those misty gray eyes. It seemed he wanted to hug her, but if he didn't, he wouldn't show any disappointment. Instead, the light in his eyes dimmed as he tried to figure out how to do better.

Xu Ran leaned down and wrapped her arms around Pei Jinchen completely, fitting him snugly. She squeezed his wrist, noticing it was a bit thin, and wasn't entirely satisfied.

"Why have you lost weight? Have you been eating properly?"

Pei Jinchen nestled in his arms, gently shook his head, and whispered, "I left you some food in the kitchen."

After saying this, he stepped out of Xu Ran's embrace, his lips slightly pursed, looking somewhat nervous.

Xu Ran was somewhat surprised. He walked into the kitchen and found two plates of stir-fried vegetables and a bowl of rice heating up in a pot. He picked them up with a smile, but his gaze suddenly stopped as he looked down.

The trash can was overflowing, hidden in a corner, a place that was easily overlooked. Xu Ran walked over, and seeing it made her heart ache terribly.

Xu Ran was unexpectedly silent while eating, and Pei Jinchen glanced at her a few times, almost tearing his sleeve in the process.

He finally couldn't help but speak up: "My cooking skills aren't very good..."

No one taught him how to cook. Back in that dilapidated little village, he was forced by circumstances to cook on a small stool on a stove that was taller than himself.

He hadn't cooked since returning to the Pei family home. Today, facing the unfamiliar smoking machine and stove, he studied them for a long time and tried several times before finally figuring out two dishes that he could serve to Xu Ran.

He couldn't understand the complexity in Xu Ran's eyes; he only saw Xu Ran beckoning to him, so he walked over.

Xu Ran picked up some food, placed her chopsticks against his lips, and said gently, "Open your mouth."

Pei Jinchen's pupils dilated, his lips loosened, and he chewed for a long time but couldn't taste anything.

Xu Ran said, "It's delicious."

If Xu Ran likes it, that's fine. Pei Jinchen is five years older than Xu Ran, but he is incredibly naive. He didn't receive any proper education from his adoptive parents, but after returning to the Pei family, he was bombarded with business knowledge. There are many things he hasn't learned and doesn't quite understand.

He slowly listened to his own heart, realized what he was thinking, and that he could accept whatever Xu Ran liked.

Xu Ran always seemed to be able to accurately strike the softest part of his heart through his indifferent reactions.

Xu Ran slowly finished her meal, savoring it with great care, as if she were cherishing a simple, everyday meal.

Xu Ran smiled at him: "Let's go on a date today."

Pei Jinchen then had no more thoughts and decided to go on the date.

Xu Ran ignored the row of dull dark shirts, picked up a light blue sweatshirt and urged him to put it on. Pei Jinchen looked in the mirror and found it a bit strange. He looked more like a teenager than when he was twenty. The gold-rimmed glasses looked a bit out of place. He hesitated for a moment, then took them off and put them on the table.

He looked at Xu Ran, who was wearing the same white hoodie, and now that he was standing in front of Xu Ran, they seemed to match quite well.

There were far fewer people on the streets on a weekday. Xu Ran, wearing a mask, held Pei Jinchen's hand and wandered aimlessly, showing no awareness of being a celebrity.

Pei Jinchen, on the other hand, seemed a little nervous, glancing at the pedestrians on the street from time to time, his palms damp with sweat.

Xu Ran led him through a maze of turns, until they entered a quiet alley.

"Look, the ice cream is on sale!"

Xu Ran stopped and tugged at Pei Jinchen. The ice cream shop next to them had a sign that said "20% off everything".

It's autumn now, and fewer people are eating ice cream, so the store is probably trying to attract one last wave of customers with discounts.

One of them is a CEO, and the other is a celebrity; neither of them is short of a few dollars. Xu Ran, however, acted as if she had gotten a great deal, pulling Pei Jinchen inside and laughing, "You're lucky, I'll treat you to ice cream."

The owner, who had been dozing in his recliner, immediately greeted the guests with a beaming smile: "What would you two handsome gentlemen like?"

Xu Ran chose a vanilla flavor and poked Pei Jinchen's arm: "What flavor do you want?"

Pei Jinchen paused for a moment, then took out one that looked exactly like Xu Ran's from the freezer.

The owner chuckled as he took their bill, asking, "Are you students from D University? Don't you have classes today?"

Xu Ran just smiled and didn't refute.

As I took my ice cream, the vendor said, "It's not easy to have such good friends in college. Take care, come again!"

Xu Ran put her arm around Pei Jinchen's shoulder and replied to her boss, "We're roommates."

Pei Jinchen was startled by Xu Ran's sudden action, and almost dropped the ice cream in his hand.

My roommate... I guess that's not wrong.

The sun was about to set, and the last rays of light shone on the golden leaves of the ginkgo tree. When Xu Ran returned after throwing away the ice cream box, she saw Pei Jinchen standing alone under the tree in a daze, with a little bit of unmelted ice cream still stuck to his lips.

I'd like to try it.

So Xu Ran kissed him like that, and it seemed sweeter than her own kiss...

Pei Jinchen was forced to reciprocate the kiss, which carried the coolness and sweetness of ice cream, while also hurriedly keeping an eye out for anyone coming into the alley.

As Xu Ran ended the kiss, she leaned close to Pei Jinchen's ear. The lingering, tender breath had not yet dissipated, and half of Pei Jinchen's face was still numb with pleasure.

Xu Ran: "How about we stop being the sugar daddy?"

Pei Jinchen stood frozen in place, not quite understanding the meaning of those words.

"Be my boyfriend."
