Police Chief's Anti-Organized Crime Storm

Liu Yixiong glared angrily at the two men, then turned and walked out of the mountain. Lin Ying was truly cunning, actually building some kind of base in the mountains. But now, the base had suddenly disappeared. Where had everyone gone? It seemed that he couldn't find Li Jianmin on his own. If he wanted to find him, he would have to ask Brother Ma for help.

Liu Yixiong quickly dialed Brother Ma's number.

"What did you say? Lin Ying is building a base in the mountains? What kind of base?" Ma Guoliang was a little confused. What was Lin Ying up to?

"It's probably where Li Jianmin and Li Shuwen are being held, and where some of the evidence they found is being stored." Liu Yixiong quickly replied, but he was very frustrated. He had found the place, but he couldn't find the people. Where had they gone?

"What did you say? Lin Ying built a base specifically to detain these people?" Ma Guoliang was startled and instantly realized something was wrong. This wasn't a typical case-handling method. Building a base specifically to detain criminals meant that Lin Ying definitely didn't trust them, or even anyone in the Gaoshan County Public Security Bureau. Moreover, her purpose in building the base certainly wasn't just to detain a few criminals. What about the dozen or so thugs Wang Dalong had arrested before? Were they released? Could they have also been arrested and put into that so-called base?

Thinking of this, Ma Guoliang quickly hung up and called Wang Dalong. When he heard that the person hadn't returned, he suddenly felt a headache coming on. Had those people also disappeared? Could they have been imprisoned in the so-called base?

In other words, Lin Ying built a special place just to detain these criminals related to the Tianlong Group.

No, no, this is definitely not a typical case-handling method. This is more like a place specifically set up to target the Tianlong Group. This is...

Ma Guoliang immediately thought of a term, and in an instant, his head buzzed and his mind went blank. Could it be that Lin Ying came to strike at Tianlong Group? Was she here specifically to investigate Tianlong Group?

Lin Ying's behavior after arriving in Gaoshan flashed through Ma Guoliang's mind. Although Lin Ying served as the deputy secretary of the county party committee and acting county head, she did not work in the county government or participate in daily work. She was not there to serve as the deputy secretary of the county party committee and acting county head. How could an acting county head not be in charge of economic work?!

She's not here to oversee county government work, nor is she here to investigate cases; she's here... to crack down on organized crime!

The thought of this possibility made Ma Guoliang's heart skip a beat again. Although he had expected it before, it had now been confirmed once more. Ma Guoliang's heart jumped again, and his face turned ashen. He finally understood that Lin Ying was not only here to investigate Gao Lan's case, but also for Tianlong Group.

Upon realizing this, Ma Guoliang's face immediately turned extremely ugly. He had personally built up Tianlong Group, and it was impossible for it to be without problems. However, how could capital accumulation in the process of economic development be without bloodshed?! Hadn't Tianlong Group been laundering its money all these years?

They support tens of thousands of jobs in Gaoshan County, and yet the higher-ups are actually planning to take action against Tianlong Group?

Thinking of this, Ma Guoliang's heart pounded wildly, and he felt a sense of panic. If something happened to Tianlong Group, he would be the first to be implicated. Ma Guoliang, the top dog in Gaoshan, had poured all his heart and soul into Tianlong Group.

Ma Guoliang was completely unable to remain calm; in fact, his body was trembling slightly. He finally understood Lin Ying's purpose in coming to Gaoshan County, but this matter made him feel terrible.

"Yi Xiong, send someone to Yuanshan Township right away to dispose of those mountain goods we took there last time. Go quickly." Ma Guoliang hurriedly called Liu Yi Xiong, who paused for a moment, then nodded emphatically.

"Brother Ma, there's something I'd like to ask for your help with." Liu Yixiong hadn't finished speaking when the call was cut off, so when Ma Guoliang called back, he quickly added, "Brother Ma, there's something I'd like to ask for your help with."

"Go ahead and say it," Ma Guoliang said absentmindedly.

"Here's the thing," Liu Yixiong said, "Since Lin Ying has hidden Li Jianmin, could we use your influence and the county standing committee to pressure Lin Ying to bring him to the county bureau? Once he's there, things will be much easier." Liu Yixiong's voice carried a hint of excitement. The county bureau was his territory; once the man was there, he wouldn't have to worry about not having a chance to act. Moreover, he wouldn't even have to do it himself.

"Hmm, let me think about it." With a snap, Ma Guoliang hung up the phone, his mind still unsettled. Since Lin Ying's target was Tianlong Group, he had to prepare early. Otherwise, if he were found out, it would be very troublesome. Going to jail would be a certainty, and given what he had done and the money he had taken over the years, he might even be fit to be executed.

Thinking about all this, he was startled. No, he had to make the cut as soon as possible.

Unbeknownst to Wang Dalong, a restructuring operation targeting Tianlong Group was about to begin.

Lin Ying examined the documents in her hand. She knew very well that the evidence Zhao Jiu wanted to destroy must be extremely important. Otherwise, Wang Dalong wouldn't be in such a hurry. Wang Gui had been an undercover agent for Zhao Jiu for eight years to obtain this evidence. Eight years! In the end, he paid with his life. No matter what, Comrade Wang Gui's sacrifice could not be in vain.

Just then, Xie Zhijun walked in: "Boss, the autopsy is over. Here's the report, take a look!" After saying that, Xie Zhijun handed over an autopsy report. Lin Ying took it and her face changed drastically. Looking at the eye-catching and glaring line of text, her face turned ashen, and she cursed angrily: "These audacious beasts!" Sure enough, Wang Gui had been hit on the back of the head with a hard object, causing a fracture of the back of the skull and death from excessive bleeding.

Lin Ying trembled with rage. She looked up, her eyes bloodshot and blazing with fury: "Immediately notify Lei Shuming. I want to arrest Wang Dahu right now! I want to see who can stop me this time!"

"Yes." Xie Zhijun quickly went out to find someone.

Lin Ying looked at the report in her hand, took out her phone, and dialed Meng Jianguo's number.

On the phone, Meng Jianguo remained silent for a long time after hearing the news. No one knew Wang Gui's true identity, no one knew who he really was, and no one knew that he was actually surnamed Meng!

Meng Jianguo's hands were trembling slightly. Years ago, he sent him to go undercover in Gaoshan County. Halfway there, he regretted it and wanted to take him back. But the boy told him that he wanted to be a qualified policeman, not for any other reason than that his father's name was Meng Jianguo!

Tears streamed down her cheeks. There was no sound on the phone, but Lin Ying still sensed something was wrong; Director Meng's attitude seemed off.

After calling several times without any response, just as Lin Ying was about to hang up, thinking there was a problem with the phone signal, Meng Jianguo's hoarse voice finally rang out: "Lin Ying, no need to see him off, I'll come to Gaoshan to pick him up and take him home." This time, he really was going to take him home, just like back then when he sent him to Gaoshan to infiltrate.

He is his son, and his name is Meng Yunzhou.

He didn't disgrace him, my son...
