Curse Return: Demon Void Girl Doesn't Want to Be a Weakling
Chapter 260 and beyond
Kinji slipped over to Mashiro again and whispered to her, "Mashiro, are you really not considering fighting in my tournament?"
"Not interested."
Zhenbai didn't even look up, continuing to eat the food in front of him.
Kinji chuckled: "Don't be so heartless, you're the most popular person in the world right now—"
"No, no, I'm not going."
Mashiro waved her hand, "My appearance fee is very expensive."
"Of course there's an appearance fee."
Kinji was secretly delighted; problems that could be solved with money weren't really problems: "How much do you want?"
"How about you buy Japan and give it to me, then I'll consider it."
Mashiro said dismissively, she really had no interest in fighting in this arena, there was no challenge at all.
Forget about the challenge; once she's on the ring, will anyone dare to challenge her?
What's the point of watching a one-sided match?
"I'll give you 70% of the profits!"
Shinji gritted his teeth and made one last desperate gamble. Even though he wouldn't make much money after giving away 70% of his total earnings, he had to consider whether this was his only chance in his life!
"You said you weren't going, what are you still saying? It's infuriating."
The little deer rolled her eyes at Kinji and waved her hand, "Go away."
Mashiro waved her hand, mimicking the deer, and said, "Go away, go away."
"..."
Seeing that Mashiro really didn't want to go, Kinji could only sheepishly shrink back.
As time passed, about three or four hours later, everyone had eaten and drunk their fill, and the banquet came to an end.
The group left the hotel in twos and threes and headed towards the college.
Fushiguro Megumi walked in front, with Kurusu Hana and Tsumiki on his left and right sides, respectively.
The three of them were whispering to each other, but the atmosphere wasn't as tense as before.
Mashiro walked at the very end, and looking at everyone enjoying themselves in front of her, she smiled slightly.
After such a tough battle, this is the result she wanted.
"This kind of everyday life is the lingering feeling that should follow a battle."
She looked at the moon in the sky and said to herself.
Not long after, they returned to the college and everyone went their separate ways.
Mashiro stretched and was about to return to her apartment when Gojo Satoru called out to her.
"Mashiro."
Mashiro turned around and looked at Gojo Satoru: "What's wrong?"
What are your plans for the future?
Gojo Satoru bought two cans of coffee from the vending machine next to him and tossed one to Mashiro.
Mashiro caught it and saw that it was a latte, the really sweet kind.
With a "click," Gojo Satoru leaned against the wall and opened his coffee.
He looked at the moon, took a sip of his drink, and asked, "What are your plans for the future?"
"Intend?"
Mashiro opened her coffee and leaned against the wall: "How about just relaxing at home?"
"Why does it feel like retirement?"
Gojo Satoru chuckled and said, "You're still young, aren't you?"
"I've never been interested in saving the world or anything like that."
Mashiro looked at the moon in the sky. "I didn't originally belong here, but now I feel a greater sense of belonging."
"Because of everyone?"
"That's right, because of everyone."
Mashiro nodded. "I told you, I can foresee the future."
Gojo Satoru stared at her blankly: "...Is that true? I thought you were making it up."
"It's not quite true, but it's close enough."
Mashiro nodded. "I know what would happen to this world if I didn't exist."
"Oh? That's quite interesting."
Gojo Satoru tapped his finger lightly on the coffee can, his eyes filled with curiosity. "Can you tell me a little bit?"
"Many people died."
Mashiro sighed, uttering names one after another, "Nanami, Mai, Koshino, Shiryu Ryu... and even you."
"Am I dead too?"
Gojo Satoru was taken aback, but then he remembered the scene of being caught in a replay during the fight with Sukuna, and he understood. "It's Sukuna?"
"That's right."
Mashiro nodded. "When I appeared in this world, I felt that there were things I could do and things I wanted to do."
Gojo Satoru asked, "Have you finished everything you wanted to do?"
"Yes, I've done everything I wanted to do."
Mashiro nodded, then joked, "After that, I'll go into seclusion and only come out when the world faces another crisis."
"Like a reclusive master?"
"Just like a Shadow-level powerhouse."
"A Shadow-level powerhouse."
Gojo Satoru laughed at Mashiro, who was clearly no different but deliberately spoke differently, "That's just like your style."
"It suits me perfectly, doesn't it?" Mashiro chuckled, a hint of pride in her voice.
"What are your plans regarding the Spellcasting Association?"
Gojo Satoru raised a new question.
Mashiro remained silent for a while. This was the world after she had changed it, and no one knew what would happen next.
"We now cooperate with the government and other entities, so things are much easier than before."
After thinking for a moment, she said, "Just reserve a seat for me in the association, I don't want to worry about the specifics."
Gojo Satoru nodded, took a sip of coffee, and sighed.
He sighed wearily, "I wish I could retire like you."
"Then retire."
Mashiro glanced at him. "The students have all grown a lot now, and the combat strength of the college is much stronger than before."
"As for the overall coordination, we can leave it to Yagami and Yoshinobu Rakanji."
"They can still be trusted."
Gojo Satoru thought about it and agreed.
Everyone's current strength is enough to take on some more challenging missions, so there's no need for them to run around anymore.
Furthermore, the ability to cooperate with governments of various countries makes resolving issues much easier.
It seems he really can retire now.
Thinking this, Gojo Satoru joked, "Then I might as well just become a school principal."
"Whatever."
Mashiro finished her coffee in one gulp: "Just don't forget that I'm your advisor."
After saying that, she threw the empty can into the trash can and turned to leave.
Gojo Satoru watched her departing figure and smiled.
"Oh, right."
Gojo Satoru suddenly called out to her again, "Aren't you going to keep an eye on Fushiguro's date tomorrow?"
Why should I go?
Masashiro didn't even turn her head, saying, "It's not like I'm on a date."
"Don't you want to go to the theater?"
Gojo Satoru said with some doubt, "Logically speaking, Mashiro shouldn't have missed out on such a juicy piece of gossip."
"I think you just want to go see a play, don't you?"
Mashiro sighed. "I'm going to Kyoto with Kugizaki tomorrow."
"I see..."
Gojo Satoru nodded, and after a few seconds said, "You're also having a three-person date here?"
"...You're amazing."
Mashiro, no longer wanting to deal with this amazing person, turned and left.
"Hey, you're really not going?"
Gojo Satoru called out to her retreating figure.
Mashiro didn't reply; she simply waved her hand and turned to disappear from sight.
