The Heiress's Game

Chapter 129 A Photo of the Century

Seeing that she smiled, Qian Yuewei was about to continue gossiping.

The emcee on stage began warming up the crowd, the lights dimmed, and the wedding officially began.

Pei Yan was the first to walk onto the stage. Today, he was wearing a custom-made black peak lapel suit with straight shoulders and a neatly tailored waist. Standing on the stage, he was a tall and slender figure.

His features were exceptionally handsome, and many female guests couldn't help but linger on him for a few more seconds.

Qian Yuewei rested her chin on her hand, her tone tinged with emotion:

"To be fair, Pei Yan's face is truly striking. Among all the rich second-generation kids in the entire Dahai City, there aren't many whose looks can rival his."

Gu Yunjin didn't reply, but just quietly watched the stage.

The bride, Ms. Li, walked slowly down the flower archway, arm in arm with her father.

The veil covered half of her face, but her delicate features and dignified demeanor were still visible.

Pei Yan stepped forward and took her hand. The two stood side by side in front of the emcee. One was handsome, and the other was elegant. The scene was as pleasing to the eye as the finale of an idol drama.

After the wedding ceremony, it was time for the bride and groom to toast the guests.

Pei Yan and Miss Li walked from table to table with their wine glasses in hand. When they reached Gu Yunjin's table, the people at the surrounding tables subtly slowed down their chopsticks and their eyes quietly turned toward them.

Everyone knows that the second young lady of the Gu family is sitting at this table, and everyone also knows about the almost-arranged marriage between the Pei and Gu families.

Pei Yan stopped in front of Gu Yunjin, his gaze falling on her face. He nodded slightly, his smile as gentle as ever: "Yunjin, thank you for coming."

His attitude was generous and natural, without deliberately distancing himself or lingering, striking the perfect balance.

Before Gu Yunjin could respond, the bride, Miss Li, had already taken a step forward and raised her glass to Gu Yunjin.

Her smile was bright and generous, her eyes filled with a frank and open expression, without any hint of petty scrutiny or hostility.

"Yun Jin, I've long admired your name but never had the chance to meet you. It's great to finally meet you today. Let's have tea together sometime."

That's a brilliant way to put it. It acknowledges that they "know" without explicitly stating it, and it gives both sides a way out.

Gu Yunjin stood up, holding the honey grapefruit tea. Her smile was gentle and harmless, but there was a hint of appreciation in her eyes that was hard for others to detect—this Miss Li was quite a character.

In a soft voice, she gracefully clinked her glass against his: "Congratulations on your marriage."

Miss Li smiled and thanked him, then turned to look at Pei Yan, who naturally put his arm around her waist.

Just then, Ms. Li suddenly suggested, "Let's take a picture together."

Upon hearing this, even the guests who were pretending to eat couldn't help but look up.

It's quite rare to see a former blind date and the current bride appear together in the same frame.

Without hesitation, Gu Yunjin smiled and replied, "Okay," before walking over to Miss Li's side.

Miss Li took the initiative to stand in the middle, linking one arm with Pei Yan's and placing the other hand generously on Gu Yunjin's shoulder.

The three people were positioned very naturally—the bride was in the middle, the bride and groom stood on one side, and Gu Yunjin stood on the other side.

The photographer pressed the shutter, and the flash went off.

The moment the image was frozen in time, all three of them had an impeccable smile.

Pei Yan is gentle, Miss Li is bright and beautiful, and Gu Yunjin is sweet. People who don't know the inside story would probably think that this is a newlywed couple and their best friend.

Pei Yan nodded, and Miss Li smiled and winked at Gu Yunjin before the two turned and walked to the next table.

Gu Yunjin sat down again, and Qian Yuewei immediately leaned over, her eyes shining as if she had discovered a new continent, her low voice full of excitement that she loved to watch the drama unfold:

"My God, the three of you actually took a group photo?"

What a memorable scene! An ex-blind date and a current bride, with a handsome guy in between—if this photo gets out...

I've even thought of the headline for the media—"The Pei family's grand wedding: Ex and current partners appear together in a historic photo, their intimate pose dispelling rumors of discord."

Gu Yunjin was amused by her impromptu title creation and didn't know whether to laugh or cry. She took a fork, poked a piece of cake, and stuffed it into her mouth.

"Eat your dessert, why are you talking so much?"

Qian Yuewei, with cake in her mouth, kept mumbling and wouldn't stop. She chewed a couple of times, swallowed, and then leaned closer, her eyes sparkling with gossip.

"Honestly, how did you feel just now? Pei Yan looked so handsome today, didn't you regret it even a little bit?"

Gu Yunjin turned her head and looked at Qian Yuewei with an innocent yet serious expression.

"Yuewei, do you think I'm the kind of person who can be swayed by a face?"

Qian Yuewei paused for a moment, then nodded sincerely:

"That's true. If you were really someone who judges by looks, you would have married Pei Yan long ago."

She paused, then added, "But seriously, Pei Yan really looks handsome today, he almost dazzled me."

Gu Yunjin chuckled, then lowered her head to drink her honey grapefruit tea without saying anything more.
